If you added too little custard powder it ends up becoming too watery. If this happens, you're in deep shit. I tried to add more custard-milk mixture to see if it can thicken, but alas, lumps formed in less than a minute. I added to the already warm mixture. Perhaps you can cool the whole thing and mix the "milk custard" mixture. Lesson learnt is that its better to err on the side of adding too much custard powder. I'd add 150g or more of custard powder to 2 liters of milk.
@susha06 I ran into same problem. Make a thick syrup of sugar and water and add it to the prepared custard. By making it thick, you wont compromise the consistency of what you've prepared. It works.
Viewers asking this recipe are probably immature cooks;) This recipe for custard is already there on the custard powder box, he is just giving a demo with fruits..ala Fruit Custard;))
hello, im not entirely a very.. well, experienced chef, being that i am only 15 years old, this is my first time watching your videos and i must say i am impressed, the custard sounds amazing and i wish i could make it when i had the supplies and time. thank you for the videos and i hope that i can find more and more recipes. I do have a tip if it has not already been given. the last time i made crepes, i did not have the availibility of a non-stick pan, so instead i used vegitable oil, it works
@chitrakuut most custard powder in the world is eggless. it came about due to a guy whose wife was allergic to eggs, so he used cornflower and colouring (to replace the egg colouring), but the product became popular and mainstream since it was inconvenient and time consuming to make the whole recipe at home with eggs :)
Vahchef, you need to spend some of your talk time in listing ingredients AND relative quantities... "add some, little, more, per taste" is NOT helpful at all. you need better structure to your presentation if you truly want people with low cooking skills like me to be able to follow your recipe and have satisfactory results. if you need a true chef-guru to look up to, try Madhur Jaffrey: she's nailed down indian cooking to almost an exact science. What you need, Vahchef, is structure 2 your show
@dindanyem I've tried fruit cocktail before as easy as it is, it doesn't bring out the textures and flavours in the dessert. But it sure is an easy alternative.
Hi Sanjay, I want to know that from where I can get custard powder 4 fruit salad??can i get it from any grocery store or from only Indian store?pls rpl me soon bcoz my hubby’s bday is coming on this 9th june and I want to make this dish
As always, great recipe Sanjay!! Just a quick suggestion...For those that get fantastic mangoes, custard with just mango pieces (cubes) tastes like heaven! It is my childhood favorite and certainly worth a try for those mango lovers out there!! Enjoy!!

Custard is my Fav Dessert :-) try it with Tiger or Glucose biscuits it tastes yummmy.....
In a flat utensil make the bed of biscuits n add just little warm custard over the biscuts. Add just the little amt of custard to biscuits that then are dipped n cool rest of the custard n then u can add half d cooled custard to it n set again in fridge n once the custard is set u can add fruits n then add remaining Custard on top ot it. Here comes ur Custard pudding.
