District 9 Movie Review & Bandslam & The Goods

District 9 is a phenomenal movie, best sci-fi movie in recent years.... well, no... it's the best sci-fi movie in time span of at least 10 years! Great, amazing thriller with deep and thought provocking idea, stellar actor performance, beautiful OST and outstanding CG effects. Everything was executed brilliantly. 10/10 No flaws!

you do good reviews but you come off a little bias on some of the reviews. I thought The Goods wasn't as funny as you think it would be.

thank you...yeah, I based my reviews on how I felt walking out of the theater for the first time after watching the film...and I was ecstatic after watching the movie...I saw it with a friend who could care less about the raunchy comedy genre, and he too, fell in love with it...it's probably just our mood at that time, but I was very satisfied with the film...

the academy is a total snob as far as sci-fi and action movies go! district 9 may be nominated for "best special effects" and/or "best sound editing" but I wouldn't get my hopes up too much!

Fantastic reviews, Manny! Entertaining to watch and really precise! I will definitely be checking out District 9. Your The Goods Interviews made me want to watch the film more so I might watch this in theaters but Bandslam, no matter how good it may be, will be tough for me to view. Once again, great stuff!

I enjoyed Ponyo by Hayao Miyazaki...I'm a fan of his, the popular ones like Spirited Away I love, but I also enjoyed Kiki's Delivery Service, Howl's Moving Castle, and of course, Princess Mononoke :) Unfortunately, there's just way too much films this weekend, I need a vacation :)
