She basically watered down the whole routine. When you are in event finals you might as well go for a medal. As it turned out only a 9.9 was required to medal which wasnt an impossible score for her, even though this isnt her best event. If her attitude was to just do such a watered down nothing routine to avoid falling then she should have just scratched from beam finals.
No, it was her back injury, she could hardly do one on the floor that day. Notice she doesn't go all out in her dance moves (not skills), because she could hardly arch her back.
It seems she DID improvised that leg planche just before the dismount... only to have it on the routine, because she normally would do that at 0:50, but here she missed it somehow and covered it up. She took no risks at all at this routine, lots of easier improvisations instead of the usual skils.. I don't know why she worked the beam like that. This is not her style.
amazing about how much more advanced our skilles have become

Poor Henni had major back pain during these WCs, but she sure made up for it in 1992.

Heni wasnt the originator of the backhandspring halftwist walkover out, Olga Mostepanova did it first at the 1983 World Championships.

I thought she did it at Olomouc which is why it was never credited to her.

Was that improvised to do the split leg planche there since it was usually at the end of the beam?
