U make me proud everyday. When I hear u sing I can barely contain my love and admiration for you. A voice like no other!! No, u didn't make the "Big Time" but u always were in my eyes.. With all my love Naki xoxo
what happened to leo? he lived in hobart for years.actually he used to live just near me,and sometimes we'd talk at the bus stop.nice guy.last time i saw him he told me he was moving back to new zealand.......i suppose he went.
In 1995 De Castro returned to New Zealand. For what is probably New Zealand's best passionate soulful voice, Leo De Castro was very seldom recorded. Over the course of 25 years, Leo recorded just seven singles, two with King Harvest, two with Friends, two with Johnny Rocco Band and one with Babylon. There was one album with Johnny Rocco Band called "Rocco".
In 1969 Leo headed for Sydney and joined the Browns, which included Ronnie Peel from the Pleazers. He then worked with Leo and Friends. That band broke up at the start of 1970, so in September 1970 he formed King Harvest. They immediately earned acclaim as one of the leading 'heavy' bands on the burgeoning Melbourne progressive rock circuit.
From memory I think thisband was called "King's Harvest" - "King Harvest" is the American band. This group had the best version of Wichita Lineman. This is great version of Jumping Jack Flash. sinning1966, you have no idea.
leo de castro is my grandmothers brother i only know im as uncle kiwi last time sore him was in 1995 but my mum seen him in auckland last year she's says he's a little slow theres days but still has his cheeky smile and his love for music.
Leo has one of the best voices ive ever heard. Best Bob Marley take off! No more ragey nights at Dr Syntax as hes going back to NZ! His last gig in Tassie is tonight
interesting version and video..stange no band members other than vocalist. Looked at the US version of the Dancing in The Moonlight LP and cannot identify "leo" on the cover - did they exchange singers after this video ?
Well the last time I ran into Leo was in New Zealand in 1980 down in Queenstown lying in a sreet out side a Pub in the early morning...Kiaora Maori boy Leo one of your Bro,s here Bro.
I was one of the dancing girls in this clip

This is an Aussie band formed 1970.
They charted with a version of 'Witchita Linesman' early 1971, this was the follow up.
