Yeah, This is more traditional Hawaiian, Not Samoan, Maori, or Tongan, But Hawaiian. What some people fail to remember, When the Polynesians from the Marquesas came to Hawaii, they brought with them the God of Peace not war. So early dances were a lot more fluid and graceful, When the Tahitians arrived the God of War made its impact and the Hakas became more aggressive. I enjoy both styles, but Iam partial to the earlier influence.

Yes, this was a great job!!! From what I can see here, they were all together in unison and the guys really put on quite an enjoyable show here. I would have liked to have seen it in person. I'm sure it would be spectacular to actually see them perform this dance.

I have a life Mark Serrao. Class of 2007... I'd expect you'd be the one to reply to this comment but it is the truth. How can you say it's IMPOSSIBLE to learn a dance within hours of performing? I dont know what dance you are talking about but I am talking about Hula... And Yes, there has been a greater interst in Hawaiian culture, but interest isn't going to preserve the Hawaiian Culture. Practice and work is what will. Keep up the faith....

Whoever Itzelsburro is, NEEDS to get a life! Thats pathetic. especially since this is a VERY good performance. and this isn't my year either. and TWO...there has never been a greater interest in the Hawaiian culture than today. and the same for tomorrow. and the day after. and with a group this size...it's IMPOSSIBLE to learn a dance within hours of performing. so GET REALL! but more importantly GET A LIFE!!!

How much time did they have to learn this hula? I know Kaleo and this was NOT up to his standards at ALL! Looks like they just started learning it the same day. In "REAL" hula competitions, You can learn a hula in hours before a performance. It's called heart. I'm not saying all the dancers suck but when majority are slow and sloppy and not fully extending arms, it SUCKS! If they want to join something at least give it their all and not half ass it because their tired. That's Bitchassness!!!!

sorry about all the yelling and screaming; what can i say the girls just love a man in a Malo and i am one of them (but not screaming) and if you think they suck; i wanna see you do this dance and learn it in the amount of time they had to learn and prepare for the High School Hula Competition. This is in fact one of the Best Hula's they've done without ALOT of MISTAKES. so take your Bitchassness some where else. Mahalo.
