  • steady aim with dual weilds make them pretty good with scav and marathon its actually a nice little set up as you can spray 2 guns at one time in a brawl and one on an easyer kill making it less hazzordess to reload excuse the horrible spelling

  • Ok, I used the Famas online before it was "nerfed" and yes for it's fire rate and recoil amount it was over powered. But, the mistake they made with updating it they weakened it enough but now it has too much recoil for it's damage amount.

    A weapon we have no that has low recoil and high damage is the Commando, I see less recoil on the commando with ACOG then a famas with red dot. It's baffling to me that the commando hasn't been touched yet.

    There are more weapon problems but we gotta wait.

  • @ghiman100 True,but you also get the Galil very early. And that weapon has low recoil and high power + if you put extended mags on it you get 50 bullets in one clip. That's just crazy, plus the Galil is classified as a LMG in real life.

  • the aks74u is an assault carbine (a smaller version of assault rifle like the m4) so put it in the assault rifle slot and give it a stock too cause its a bit awkward looking without one

  • i agree for the olympia but i personaly think it's reload time needs to be shortened to about 2 seconds? or 1.5 then with SOH it's a quick reload. other than that im happy with this to bad treyarch did nothing :(

I love where your logic is at. If the designers focused more on this we would have a nearly perfect FPS.

  • @gartios11 No, the shotguns suck ass. I don't know if you're an MLG pro or something, but I only do really well with shotguns (like I would do if I were using an AR) in 1 out of 3 matches, or when I'm playing in parties. And no, they didn't fix everything from mw2 (hit detection? host migration). In fact, they even made somethings worse (like the spawn system). And snipers are still ridiculously inconsistent. The L96 and PSG1 are pretty good but there's just no reason to use them.

    Make Ghost reduce your weapon damage. About everyone in CoD4 used Stopping Power, and that's what balanced UAV Jammer, you trade higher damage for being undetectable on enemy radar.

  • @Ollie7475 thats a good idea but i dont think perks should ever give disatvantages since there "perks" i think it should be a weapon attachment like the suppressor but it also reduces damage like the suppressor. basically while holding out the weapon with the "ghost" u cant be seen by a uav and reduced damage but if u switch weapons or pick up another one then ur seen. to be quite honest ghost is more used due to the fact that ks dont stack making people wanting to use spy plane more

  • The Olympia is a trapshooting gun and the gun is designed to be fired at a target flying at about 20yrds away (about 18.25 meters) so at 10 feet it should be devastating granted all shotguns should be and of all the shotguns it should have the most range. The major thing is they really should have done is put a lot more research into the weapons that they are going to use for example the FAMAS they have the wrong design for it the first ones are more blocky they put in a new version.

  • I think the full auto Assault Rifles should have idle ADS sway in Black Ops, like they did in Call of Duty 4. This would make them somewhat harder to use at long range, giving greater purpose to Sniper Rifles and LMGs.

    It could also be used to balance the assault rifles within their class; the FAMAS and AUG could have 30-25 damage, but less idle sway than the other assault rifles (like the G36c in CoD4). Additionally, the AK74u could have idle sway.

    Does this sound reasonable?

  • A nerf to ghost being one of these suggestions:

    1- ghost user will appear on radar when enemy uav is up and they are sprinting.

    2- Their bullet damage would be multiplied by .85

    3- They are unable to use killstreaks. If you think about it it kind of seems lke a person with ghost using killstreaks is a hipicrit. They are invisible to KS but they can still call in air support. Ghost has lost what it was meant for. A sniper or flanking. It is now a perk that encourages camping.

    Any opions?

    You can suggest all you want, but I'd be willing to bet that ghost will never be nerfed in black ops. Treyarch has already mentioned that they have no plans to nerf it, despite all the outcries from the community. Also, please learn how to spell "hypocrite" and "opinion" because otherwise most people won't take you seriously for bad spelling on the internet.

  • @JarheadX1010 i think they should take out spy plane and ghost as a whole cause without ghost spy plane would be wayy too overused since killstreaks no longer stack. keep in the pro version of ghost incase of choppers. then maybe make light weight move faster since its soo useless of a perk and it would make faster pace gameplay to make up for no spy plane then maybe make marathon sprint further then pro unlimited and climb over objects faster like in mw2

  • I think they should balance out ghost. Its not an overpowered perk, jsut way overused. Because all of the other 1st tier perks are not as helpful as ghost. You really don't need scavenger because you can pick up other guns which will most likely be an assault rifle. If you think about it, your are more often killed by the enemy seeing you on the radar than a grenade or claymore. Hardline is just a small halful unless you have pro which can somtimes be pretty effective. I propose a nerf to ghost

  • I agree with many of your changes. There are, however, a few I don't.

    -The PSG-1 shouldn't have the 1.5 at the stomach. If it did, the only real advantage the L96A1 would have is the upper arm 1.5

    -I don't think the Kiparis, PM63, or MAC11 should be changed to 30 round mag. From personal experience, 20 rounds seems balanced.

    -The G11 should keep the 48 round clip. I do agree with the hip fire accuracy, though.

    I really like the shotgun changes you suggested. Good ideas, overall.

  • @TylerPlaysXbox No, equipment is fine, and so is ghost. Without ghost Spy Planes are way too powerful, especially in Hardcore. Second chance is OP in how much extra damage you can take (in addition to being temporarily invulnerable), so I agree with removing it or fixing it.

  • I have an idea. Make every gun shoot mentos instead of bullets, then there wont be such thing as an overpowerd gun, since every one will be underpowered and won't kill anybody!

  • I think that with ANY gun, including the ASP (weakest pistol and probably weapon in terms of damage in Black Ops) should be able to kill anyone from almost any range with one bullet to the head. I mean come one. A gun is a gun. It most likely should kill you with a head shot. If you were to test it out, you can shoot someone with like a M1911 or CZ75 (both pistols) on the head while looking directly at him and like just an inch away and it wont kill you. Same with certain assault rifles as well.

  • i think they should either make substantial changes to the AKS-74u and put it up to level 41 to unlock or erase it from the game its just an assault rifle with fast movement in cqb

    Sub machine guns are fully automatic guns that fire a handgun cartridge,aka .40 .45 9mm etc.

    The ak74 fires a 5.45x39

    What We all hate is the kid who uses the AK - 74u every game. Here is the solution once you hit the 500 kills gun challenge for a gun it gets more recoil only if you used that gun for more than 30% of the last games played.

    that means that kid who loves the AK-74u wont be able to hit the targets after a while. the way to reverse this is to... well do the reverse. don't use the gun for 70% of your games and get 5 other gun challenges. Problem Solved.

  • I disagree strongly with almost everything that you did to the submachine guns. None of them, including the ak74u should be downgraded. The ak74u is the only submachine gun that can compete with the assault rifles. All of the submachine guns should be buffed. With the one exception.

  • I understand that they are easy to get, but the Stoner, and G11 are both classified guns because Treyarch had the intention of having them outclass the other guns in its class.

  • in regards to the LMG's I think for all but the M60 the mag should be increased to 40 or 50 bullets

  • Here are my ideas

    -Give the spectre 30-25 damage, so that way its always a 4 hit kill, also making it a good gun to silence, giving it a purpose

    -Give the MPL 35-20 damage, and 800 rpm. that way, itll be like the mp5 from cod4, but with crappier iron sights, and less range. it would kill in .15 seconds, which is .01 faster than the 74u, but .02 slower than the famas/aug

    -Give the Mac11 & Kiparis 30 rounds

    -Don't allow Grip + Rapid Fire on the 74u

    I think that should balance out the SMG category

  • BlameTruth I appreciate the work you put into this dude, I've been a fan of you for a long time. You and xcal know how a game SHOULD BE, but unfortunately once a Call of Duty game is released its very rare that they actually patch gun balance, they'd rather just pump out their $15 map packs. Take my advice man don't waste your time, I watched your triple comm with xcal and that other dude about how to make Black Ops good. I appreciate the effort but I fear Treyarch just doesn't care :(

  • im just wondering, why do players not complain about the stoner 63? im not complaining about it at all, but people seem to see the famas and aug as unbalanced and overpowered. to me, those guns just seem very similar to the stoner 63, but the stoner has no falloff damage and a 60 round ext. mag, which sort of makes up for mobility loss. basically, i kinda want to know the difference that makes the famas and aug deemed overpowered by much of the community, and the stoner 63 not OP.

  • @47MandM47 Because the majority of Black Ops players are dumb inbreds who shoot at ankles and sit in a corner for an entire round and find it entertaining. Most of them probably just hammer on the x button to instantly respawn and sprint back to their little corner. They complain about AK74u because they heard one or two people crying and then every time they die they watch the killcam and cry, but for any other gun they probably skip the kill cam and keep playing. Plus the stoner isnt overused

  • The weapons are based on real life weapons not for the overall balance of the weapons in the game... The FAMAS shoots fast in the game because it shoots fast in real life... The M16 has a 20 inch barrel meaning that it has a higher muzzle velocity (damage) and the recoil is relatively low. Also the M16 A1 pictured in the game should be fully auto. The A2 fires burst. The FN FAL and M14 fire fully automatic as well... Also the iron sights are mostly true to life in the game.

  • @Galecsi A flack jacket would not protect you from the concussion of an explosion. I am only saying that the guns are based on real life performance and characteristics. It's not all 100% realistic... but it's closer than just a weird balance cherry picked for game play. In real life, I doubt you could even be shot by any of these once guns and run around like nothing happened. You also can't walk and shoot from the hip accurately like in the game.

  • @zwinco I am a bit of an admirer of guns as machines... ;-) A lot of these guns can be ordered in either full auto, single shot and or 3 round burst configurations. It depends on the end user. Police SWAT teams may opt for a 3 round burst while defense contractors or militaries may opt for the full auto option. There's a strong market in the civilian sports shooting sector for semi-auto versions. Since a lot of the weapons in BO are no longer in main production some other companies make them.

  • As long as the shotguns had a more reliable spread, I'd be happy. I can practically snipe some people with the Stakeout for a ohk no problem, but it also tends to fail me at nearly point blank range

  • About the AK74u, giving it the Uzi's recoil would pretty much destroy the gun and make it inferior to the MP5K. Instead, what I suggest is that the AK74u be stripped of its rapid fire and grip attachments and be given the attachment discrepancy it had in COD4. This way, the AK74u would have the advantage in terms of accuracy and reload time, but the MP5K would be able to utilize attachments without any penalty.

  • I think shotguns should have a Slug "attachment." However, the drawback to infinite range would be lower damage (I don't know any specific stats). Also, for the SPAS-12 the clip should be lowered to four when using this "attachment."

  • The weapons aren't really that bad.

    But I love the perk balance in this game. Commentators have different opinions on favourite perks, like almost all blue perks are equally loved. Warlord or SoH seem to come up a lot for orange, but they're the most general purpose perks in that tier. Scout is used by snipers, Hardened with LMGs, etc.

    Green is also really good, with a large mix using Tact.Mask or Hacker, not as dominated by Ninja. Although 2nd Chance is still out there. Only problem.

  • @blink182creed I believe centerspeed is the time it takes for the crosshairs to go back to the center after you shot, reducing spread. Also, did I just see your comment on a Kr4hu vid???

  • i agree with the g11 hipfire idea, but it mag should stay the same, b/c it gives the gun a little realism, and its reload isnt exactly fast. the g11 isnt really that overpowered though, and definately not the best rifle in the tier by a longshot. sure its accurate, but that thing wouldnt last a second in a straight up firefight against a guy with a famas or aug. those guns need the nerf, and the damage idea is pretty good.
