@ShaneWilliamsHitler but he can't call himself a 'classical liberal' because the term 'liberal' from the french word 'libre' meaning freedom has been co-opted by the neo-conservative movement and been redefined as any leftwing view that they disagree with. in the words of benjamin franklin - "those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety." or in other words; almost every contemporary american politician.
@johnanthonyparsons the political compass is the best way to describe this methinks to be honest. its an x-y axis with economic views on the x axis and social issues on the y. It describes how someone can be on the right of economics like Paul, both liberal when it comes to social views, unlike most other Republicans.
@TeethKnifeKwikAttack look up liberalism and see what it means. it is the extension of liberty. it has nothing to do with eradicating traditional european culture. in fact, quite the opposite, in a liberal democracy all cultures are allowed to thrive. america is also not in europe, so i dont understand the relevance of that on a video about ron paul.
@johnanthonyparsons It was a reply to another commenter who is confused about what liberalism is. I agree that this vid has nothing to do w/ liberalism. I don't why the comment was made.
@ShaneWilliamsHitler Because traditionally the GOP was the party of constitutionalists. Of course, nowadays there's so little difference between the parties on the biggest issues that it makes no difference. But why alienate the voters that put Paul in congress by switching sides? there are still a lot of voters in the Republican party that believe in the constitution, even if most of the politicians don't, and if he was a Democrat he wouldn't be able to run against Obama.
@ShaneWilliamsHitler because he wants to wipe out the department of education and several other institutes that are there to help American people, and also because he is from Texas!
@ShaneWilliamsHitler : Because his ideas are conservative. He believes in the 2nd amendment and your right to bear arms. He's pro life, he supports fiscal responsibility, he's in favor of the Constitution and limited government.
What constitutes a ''limited government'' is such a arbitrary concept it's useless to talk about it. No one's for an unlimited government, not even statist-communists. Ask a Maoist and he can rightfully say he's pro-limited government.
If we don't the USA will eventually become a 3rd world country. Simple maths. If you spend more than you have, and get loans to pay. Eventually you end up bankrupt.
Please watch my story "TIFFANY LEBOUEF SEEKS JUSTICE" They hid my only evidence and lied about it then they made me "TAKE THE DEAL" or go to Prison for 9 + yrs. This is crazy shit. They have given me 2 strikes and one more brush with the law of any kind will send me to "PRISON FOR LIFE"..... HELP MEEEEEEEE
@ALEXFVHS Really it's pretty awesome. But if you think you're doing a good job of converting people that aren't into Ron Paul into being for Ron Paul, you might want to think again. Stay slick and stupid, we need you that way.
@ALEXFVHS You don't read english do you? Rflmao! God damn, get some basic reading skills bud. Re-read, and make the apology if you're such a man. Hello stupid.
Ron Paul 2012, this is happening. Im from Australia so unnfortunatly i cannot vote... but please please get your families, friends and and not so good friends to watch this man and vote for him. If any concerned American is sick about corruption than the purest form to protest against the corruption of politics is to vote for Ron Paul.
i hate when people associate socialism and leftist stances with fascism, they are literally total opposites on the spectrum of governmental philosophies
I don't agree with Cenk's views, but DAMN if this wasn't a good, fair, interview. I love the fact that he didn't jump down Ron's throat and keep him from answering completely.
@552Industries Slightly Libertarian and mostly Neo-Conservative. Yeah, I figured that much. I'm mostly Libertarian and somewhat Paleo-Conservative and I'm voting for Dr. Paul.
@bull864 You're not reading the graph correctly. I stand very slightly left (Probably due to +/- error.) of Paul's economic policy's. However, on social issues, I am not in anyway Authoritarian. Look at the website politicalcompass.co m and see where Bush is. The Authoritarian level he is at should be the primary index of gauging whether or not a person is "Neo-Conservative".
pastebin(.)com/RMd3Ft3z Spread the word on stopping the same fraud in New Hampshire that we had in Iowa. We have only five days before electronic voting takes over for good.
The Elite's motto is order out of chaos.. what is more chaotic to the human brain than seeing Mitt Romney top in the polls? It defies logic, and leads us to believe we live in a stupid nation, therefore we lose hope in the nation. The polls are all biased / rigged. Ron Paul is the most logical, but it is obvious from Obama that not just a new president can bring about change - we need reform from the bottom up or we need revolution!!!!!!!!!!
Ron Paul has giant fucking balls, he knows the truth and cares about it and that is where we are as a people, recognising the rediculousness that he just might be the first modern politician that the US has witnessed
Vote Ron Paul..... Just because it law doesn't make it right.... the whole system is designed for the rich filthy rich to make the more filthy rich and now its forced into other countries with human blood ............blood of mums dads sons daughters ..........again vote Ron Paul
I think Ron Paul supporters are exactly like the Obama supporters in 08. They think that he will lead a revolution and and fix everything.... HE WON'T. The President is only part of the problem. The bigger problem is Congress. With Congress so f*cked up.... Ron Paul won't be able to get anywhere just like how Obama isn't getting anywhere now. The only way Ron Paul would be a successful President is if Congress was controlled by Libertarians... and that won't happen.
@PaleKidNation1 the problem is that Obama has his own agenda behind the one he campaigned on. Ron Paul could be the same way, we don't know, and it is a gamble. However, He seems legit and if he's elected it could very well be a catalyst for reform.
@bwhiteman12 - Its not like that to be honest. Ron Paul has a 30 year track record of doing what he says, not flip flopping, and has always made his position clear. We know where Ron Paul stands. Obama, on the other hand, had very little experience in office other than a term as US senator. He was an absolute puppet tossed up there to be different from Bush, but you've seen - he's the same. Same foreign policy. Obama voters knew NOTHING about him other than his skin color...
@dadoody I very much agree, especially when you said "We know where Ron Paul stands". I even feel that if I'm asked a question about Dr. Paul's views on an issue, I could answer even without ever hearing Dr. Paul speak on the subject. I could never same the same thing about his GOP rivals or Obama.
So, you fuckers ran your mouth before about all these racism charges, and had Ron Paul on the phone and chickenshitted out of asking him about that!! Bogus fucking mommas basement bullshit tyt....
@BelgianGeneral Wow... What difference does that even make? It's not like he can or wants to take evolution out of science classes and start teaching creation. Think about the actual issues at hand. Pretty much every candidate is religious anyway so you can just about count on all of them denouncing evolution. Idiot. Glad you aren't voting.
@BelgianGeneral Does that really matter? Can't a man have his own personal beliefs? It's ridiculous when people expect a candidate to share EVERY view they have.
This is still the most fairest interview of Ron Paul I've seen yet. I applaud Cenk for treating Dr.Paul with respect and actually having a conversation with him instead of shooting non-stop questions. Bravo!
@ZombiBuddy you know what? i dont think you're wondering that at all. I'd be willing to bet you just wanted to bash his supporters. And the demographic you're speaking of isn't really confined to the internet...he's about to win iowa...would you consider the voters of iowa a cult? love him or hate him...he's the best republican candidate in the race and is the only one that has any chance of swinging the independant vote to win the election. alright?
@Jahkillian, I agree with you on your statement. It doesn't make any sense to me either. Other than possibly, many have become so accustomed to the government taking care of them & thinking for them, making laws to govern them, etc. etc.
Actually I've had both happen to me & I'm still here. Guess thin air is good for me. What good is a job & your health, if you have no freedom? God, some people are dense!
@loggergal Well if u have no health to be able to work you find you are unable to sustain yourself (unless u resort to crime)......Im pleased u are able to live off thin air......if only more of us could. Freedom of speech wont feed ur children! Dense...lol...ur whole american dream argument just got nuked..lol. Mind u , you do love those nukes dont u drivell head!
Got to hand it to you, you're pretty funny! There is no sense in being alive, if someone else is expected to make your dreams come true, do it for your damn self! Guess I've just been lucky all my life, NOT! Life is not easy, no one said it would be.... Drivell head, what the hell does that mean? I'm by far, not perfect, but not dense!
@Jahkillian I'm more amazed by the abuse thrown by Ron Paul supporters at people who just happen to disagree with him or don't want him as president. It's their choice which you should respect. I agree with nearly everything that Ron Paul says (except his stance on healthcare) however, is someone disagrees or just says "I don't think this guy should be president" then I (as well as all of you) should respect that. What I find most disturbing is the way RP is venerated.
@TheSirPrise I've been a very active voter since 1999. I've voted into every election - local, state, federal and I try to stay informed. I lean more Republican than Democrat on most issues, but I've never voted for the Democrat or Republican presidential candidates...never learned any of them. They just say one thing, do another and are all in the same foreign policy club. I listed to Paul in 08 and when I read up is history..wow. Rare. I can see why his supporters are so ferverent
@TheSirPrise No.. This is very important to the world. If you don't like Ron Paul, people have the right to ask why not? I see nothing wrong with it. They get attacked when there answer is "He wants to give Iran the nuke" and stupid shit like that. Because its just not true. So people are looking at being corrected as being attacked. I have YET to speak to anybody that didn't like Ron Paul with facts and not what MSM as spoon feed them.
@Jahkillian Think of it like being in prison for a long time when you get set free you really don't know what to do everything has changed and you are so used to being told what to do you can figure it out for yourself.
Its weird transitioning from the one where youngturks is criticizing ron paul to this vid...cuz they end up agreeing on a lot of things and hes so respectful.
Whoaaa... interactive transcript.......... while it is fun to read along, this transcript is getting RP's words wrong!! Not good for posterity, says I!
Rabid idiocy? What a hater. Dudes got balls to tell it like it is. There's too many billboard models running for president n not enough dudes with the sack to die a real man that stands for what he believes in. He is the smart choice, which is why in this mcdonalds addicted, lady gaga loving douche central, he will never be elected. One day we'll be smart like Europeans n demand our freedom back tho. Even you haters
The delusional believe that Ron Paul is their only hope. They think he has a chance because he's popular on the internet. Then when it comes to the actual polls, it seems that the 250 million or so non-internet users have voted for some other retard instead.
Ron Paul is popular only with the tinfoil-hat crowd, hence the rabid idiocy of his followers.
@hamptonbay100 why don't you put the facts where your mouth is because most of what Ron Paul says is easily verifiable. By you making the statements you and SyndicalistTimes just did you further the beliefs of others that americans are stupid when we are not.
@SyndicalistTimes If not Ron Paul who? Certainly not any of the other candidates, so that means four more years of decline. A lot can happen in four years. I agree that someone else could take up the torch in the future, but this is election time man. Of course people are going to speak with urgency.
Who is this moron giving out bullshit information about insurance companies? He's advocating for fraud. It's REAL SIMPLE (I've worked for an insurance company) BUDDY. An insurance company hires actuaries to assess areas and probability of accident then calcuates how much needs to be taken in to provide the service. You fire people that can't do the job right, and you FAIL if you just make shit up and get thrown in jail for FRAUD!
Ron Paul while not the ideal leader is the best you Yanks got.
Obama is a fucken lier. He send MORE troops to the Middle at one point (I am aware of the recent events). Even if I was a democrat I would be disappointed by him.
ALL the Republican candidates (except for Ron Paul) are Neocons.
They worship Israel and all they think is Israel. They dont give a fuck about USA.
Atleast the Young Turks had the courtesy gave Mr Paul a full length interview and gave him the time to speak without shouting him down. They also ask questions which challenged him and allowed him to elaborate his viewpoint. Some of you rabid Paul fanboys here are not taking that into account. Cant think of any major news networks that would have given Paul that time of day
Any video criticising Ron Paul is flooded with Ron Paul internet fanboys who up-thumb eachothers comments and mark yours as spam. Says a great deal for their brand of 'freedom'.
@9thchild Fox News like many media outlets is owned by News Corp - Rupert Murdoch - who also owns Oil firms such as shale who has v tasty contracts in Iraq and Afghan. Could this be why Fox news as so Pro War? and refuse to give time or shouts over people who say otherwise?
@arcaneminded Huh? Do you mean abortion? First of all that is not a basic right. Second of all that is only his personal opinion and has no relation to his capabilities as president. That is a state issue. Paul would veto ANY abortion law, whether for or against, because it would be facially unconstitutional. Therefore abortion is a non-issue and using it to debate the merits of a Paul presidency is misguided, and frankly, downright silly.
@9thchild Not just the abortion issue which IS a fundamental right, or are you a champion for slavery? people have the right to their own bodies. What about his views on jobs? this is bullshit, you haven't got a fucking clue what you're talking about. Neither you nor Ron Paul can recognize BASIC human rights. Moron.
@arcaneminded I don't know where you are getting that fundamental right thing. It is not in the constitution and I have read many of the supreme court abortion cases and it isn't in there either. Jobs? Paul is the only candidate that wants to fix the economy and balance the budget. So because I educate people about his abortion views all of a sudden I am a "champion for slavery?" I am educated in the law and know all about basic human rights and Paul is the only candidate that cares about them.
@9thchild "blah blah blah I studied law blah blah so shut up blah blah" Law does not determine basic human rights moron. Basic human rights should determine the law. Rights do not come from the US constitution they are recognised. Try amnesty international or Human rights watch or any other human rights organization. He is against human rights and *THAT* is the problem with ron paul. Do you get it now?
@arcaneminded So let me get this straight. The ONLY candidate that would repeal the Patriot Act, repeal the NDAA, end the federal income tax, end the Drug War, end the illegal wars and presence overseas, and fight for the bill of rights is "against human rights?" Sorry man you are not making any sense. Paul would NEVER sign into law a bill that made abortion illegal at the federal level as it would be facially unconstitutional. He wants to reverse Roe v. Wade ONLY because it was bad law.
@9thchild You've just proven to me you haven't got a fkn clue what you're talking about. You haven't even taken the time to LOOK at the other candidates. Paul is the only REPUBLICAN* candidate. You've been duped by advertising to vote for the leader of the country. you'll get to the ballet box and think to yourself 'who the fuck are these other people' and couldn't name their policies if your life depended on it (Which is does).
@9thchild So anyone who views the world different from Paul deserves to get bad ratings because you're a cult following close minded tool of a politician.
@lilhavanaboys Anyone who doesn't support Ron Paul does not understand what is happening to this country and the world. If you are not part of the solution, you are part of the problem.
@kevinherbert No. All the other candidates including Obama are bought and paid for. Paul answers to the people and the constitution. If you don't understand this, you are part of the problem. Why do people think that America is too big to fail? Empires fall throughout history over and over and they usually follow the exact path America is on: bankrupt the government and destroy the currency. Step one is complete and step two is almost there (95% dollar value reduction since FED inception).
@9thchild I am part of the problem. I who am against the government and the system to start with, am part of the problem. In all honesty Ron Paul supporters are nothing more but a group of cult worshiping brain dead sheep's. There is no need for politicians nor any form of overlord like governments. All representatives want their way.
@lilhavanaboys I agree with your big picture point. However, we have to work within the system (unfortunately). Paul doesn't want his way, he wants the constitution's way, which is the best thing any American citizen has and it is being systematically destroyed right under their noses. You seem intelligent, but not enough to know what has to be done in the short term...and that is to help Paul if you can. Otherwise the government we "don't need" will truly be our overloads once and for all.
Ok, I see where you are going and I understand, but again, I don't see how "Supporting" Him means to act like a cult of fanatics who down rate any one opinion about him. The Constitution is an old paper which has no relevance anymore. We are smart enough to know, and fight for our Freedoms, not to let an old paper (Who is doing a horrible job btw) to do it for us. We are the people. We should govern ourselves and not a paper nor corrupt politicians.
@lilhavanaboys This is where I just cannot agree. Going against the constitution's guidelines is the cause of almost every problem facing American today. The FED, the deficit, the warmongering, the destruction of civil liberties, etc. Are you saying you want a full on revolution? Good luck bro, let's just try to restore the only law the protects us first.
Or is the Corporate backed Government of the United States that since the day it was founded, has censored, crushed rebellions, occupied other nations, and use the constitution as a reason not to hate the government. This country was never free. I prefer freeing myself then a paper who failed his job countless times.
@lilhavanaboys I still disagree. If you read the founder's memoirs and the legislative history surrounding the constitution, you will see that they warned us about almost everything. In fact, the central bank of England was HATED by the founders and was a huge reason behind the revolution because they would not accept colony currencies. If any of the founders knew about America today, they would ashamed and saddened to tears.
aaww he sounds so sweet.

PaleKidNation1 4 weeks ago
@PaleKidNation1
I would rather have him not go anywhere then go the Opposite way like Obama.
spetznas101 3 weeks ago
@PaleKidNation1 the problem is that Obama has his own agenda behind the one he campaigned on. Ron Paul could be the same way, we don't know, and it is a gamble. However, He seems legit and if he's elected it could very well be a catalyst for reform.
bwhiteman12 3 weeks ago
@bwhiteman12 - Its not like that to be honest. Ron Paul has a 30 year track record of doing what he says, not flip flopping, and has always made his position clear. We know where Ron Paul stands. Obama, on the other hand, had very little experience in office other than a term as US senator. He was an absolute puppet tossed up there to be different from Bush, but you've seen - he's the same. Same foreign policy. Obama voters knew NOTHING about him other than his skin color...
dadoody 3 weeks ago
@dadoody I very much agree, especially when you said "We know where Ron Paul stands". I even feel that if I'm asked a question about Dr. Paul's views on an issue, I could answer even without ever hearing Dr. Paul speak on the subject. I could never same the same thing about his GOP rivals or Obama.

What I find most disturbing is the way RP is venerated.

dadoody 3 weeks ago
@TheSirPrise No.. This is very important to the world. If you don't like Ron Paul, people have the right to ask why not? I see nothing wrong with it. blackArt2000 3 weeks ago
@9thchild and it has nothing to do with the fact he's against BASIC womens rights.
arcaneminded 3 weeks ago
@arcaneminded Huh? Do you mean abortion? First of all that is not a basic right. Second of all that is only his personal opinion and has no relation to his capabilities as president. That is a state issue. Paul would veto ANY abortion law, whether for or against, because it would be facially unconstitutional. Therefore abortion is a non-issue and using it to debate the merits of a Paul presidency is misguided, and frankly, downright silly.
9thchild 3 weeks ago
@9thchild Not just the abortion issue which IS a fundamental right, or are you a champion for slavery? people have the right to their own bodies. What about his views on jobs? this is bullshit, you haven't got a fucking clue what you're talking about. Neither you nor Ron Paul can recognize BASIC human rights. Moron.
arcaneminded 3 weeks ago
@arcaneminded I don't know where you are getting that fundamental right thing. It is not in the constitution and I have read many of the supreme court abortion cases and it isn't in there either. Jobs? Paul is the only candidate that wants to fix the economy and balance the budget. So because I educate people about his abortion views all of a sudden I am a "champion for slavery?" I am educated in the law and know all about basic human rights and Paul is the only candidate that cares about them.
9thchild 3 weeks ago
@9thchild "blah blah blah I studied law blah blah so shut up blah blah" Law does not determine basic human rights moron. Basic human rights should determine the law. Rights do not come from the US constitution they are recognised. Try amnesty international or Human rights watch or any other human rights organization. He is against human rights and *THAT* is the problem with ron paul. Do you get it now?
arcaneminded 3 weeks ago
@arcaneminded So let me get this straight. The ONLY candidate that would repeal the Patriot Act, repeal the NDAA, end the federal income tax, end the Drug War, end the illegal wars and presence overseas, and fight for the bill of rights is "against human rights?" Sorry man you are not making any sense. Paul would NEVER sign into law a bill that made abortion illegal at the federal level as it would be facially unconstitutional. He wants to reverse Roe v. Wade ONLY because it was bad law.
9thchild 3 weeks ago
@9thchild You've just proven to me you haven't got a fkn clue what you're talking about. You haven't even taken the time to LOOK at the other candidates. Paul is the only REPUBLICAN* candidate. You've been duped by advertising to vote for the leader of the country. you'll get to the ballet box and think to yourself 'who the fuck are these other people' and couldn't name their policies if your life depended on it (Which is does).
arcaneminded 3 weeks ago

lilhavanaboys 3 weeks ago

9thchild 3 weeks ago
@9thchild : you're being a bit harsh aren't you???
kevinherbert 3 weeks ago
@kevinherbert No. All the other candidates including Obama are bought and paid for. Paul answers to the people and the constitution. If you don't understand this, you are part of the problem. Why do people think that America is too big to fail? Empires fall throughout history over and over and they usually follow the exact path America is on: bankrupt the government and destroy the currency. Step one is complete and step two is almost there (95% dollar value reduction since FED inception).
9thchild 3 weeks ago
@9thchild I am part of the problem. I who am against the government and the system to start with, am part of the problem. In all honesty Ron Paul supporters are nothing more but a group of cult worshiping brain dead sheep's. There is no need for politicians nor any form of overlord like governments. All representatives want their way.
lilhavanaboys 3 weeks ago
@lilhavanaboys I agree with your big picture point. However, we have to work within the system (unfortunately). Paul doesn't want his way, he wants the constitution's way, which is the best thing any American citizen has and it is being systematically destroyed right under their noses. You seem intelligent, but not enough to know what has to be done in the short term...and that is to help Paul if you can. Otherwise the government we "don't need" will truly be our overloads once and for all.
9thchild 3 weeks ago
@9thchild
We should govern ourselves and not a paper nor corrupt politicians.
lilhavanaboys 3 weeks ago
@lilhavanaboys This is where I just cannot agree. Going against the constitution's guidelines is the cause of almost every problem facing American today. The FED, the deficit, the warmongering, the destruction of civil liberties, etc. Are you saying you want a full on revolution? Good luck bro, let's just try to restore the only law the protects us first.
9thchild 3 weeks ago
@9thchild
Or is the Corporate backed Government of the United States that since the day it was founded, has censored, crushed rebellions, occupied other nations, and use the constitution as a reason not to hate the government. This country was never free. I prefer freeing myself then a paper who failed his job countless times.
lilhavanaboys 3 weeks ago
@lilhavanaboys I still disagree. If you read the founder's memoirs and the legislative history surrounding the constitution, you will see that they warned us about almost everything. In fact, the central bank of England was HATED by the founders and was a huge reason behind the revolution because they would not accept colony currencies. If any of the founders knew about America today, they would ashamed and saddened to tears.
9thchild 3 weeks ago
@9thchild But times change, I agree with the American Revolution, but not the people who made it which where no better than the British.
