just wondering, does the mandala pad have the built in 808/Bass Drop sound, I play a few different styles and would like to know if it does infact have the bass drop..
also how do you use this? run it into a laptop and then from the laptop out to an amp or something? just kinda confused.
Don't think there is a built in 808, but you can sample anything pretty easily. Or you could probably make that sound by just messing with current sounds and adding effects. And yes, connect to computer/laptop by USB. Need good sound output, then to amp or PA.
they have 2 versions now, othe first is 999, the second is like 350, but you need a PC...yeah tabala samples are in right in two as well as many other tool songs its not suprize
false. he definitely played the stuff on mandalas for the album. particularly on right in two and intension. no question about it. i asked joe barresi.
looks like a nice thing for stick drummers but as a trigger mechanism for tablas or anything else suchlike then try a zendrum with decent software- to play tablas with sticks is counter intuitive to me and these samples sound really bad.better still learn the hardest drum combo there is... joking.. the wonderful tablas- most give up quick only the non lazy persevere !!!
Yeah, I have a set of tablas. I have studied bols and African Rhythms a bit, but I am on the lazy side. Just like to incorporate different sounds while playing a full set. What is that thing called that you are playing with the bayan in your videos? Really cool.
can you take home made samples from itunes and put them on the Virtual Brain?

He didn't use this drum in the recording even though he uses it live.
He played actual tabla in the recording studio, for right in two & intension etc.

It came with some tabla sounds, but these are custom ones that I added. The other ones are not as good.

Would you be up to sharing those samples with others?
