I was thinking about Dreamworks. Andrew Adamson has connections with them with shrek, he'll be the producer for DT so that could work. They've done big budget movies like transformers, gladiator and war of the worlds. so perhaps they might sign on.
To tell you the truth there are no really good studios that would bother with it except fox, but even with fox I think it won't do to well considering their latest films coming out and their fight with wb over that superhero movie.
it is sad. but i cant say that i'm surprised though. prince caspian didnt follow the story of the book basically at all! i'm pretty much positive that it would have made a lot more money if it followed the book.
I do agree with you Rillian, Voyage of the Dawn Treader is my all-time favorite book, and i also agree with the fact it COULD be down as a trilogy, it's kind of the same thing with Lemony Snicket's, though they COMBINED the first 3 books the way they did the ending was a way where you could walk out NOT expecting another one, but at the same time it leaves it open for a possible sequel, of course there won't be,they could do the same if they make Dawn Treader, that way it could be a bit resolved.
Wow I can't believe that Disney rather spend on sucky "movies" like High School Musical and such. Prince Caspian didn't make as much as LWW but it was still a whole lot. People and critics loved Prince Caspian, it's that the release wasn't in a good time, with the news of recession and all that made it not as successful.
This is so sad.
Maybe a production out there will realize that millions of fans shouldn't let be down.
Yes, but by the time VDT comes out, HP will probly be over.
I don't know how much interest people have in the Batman series in general. Batman Begins wasn't a GIGANTIC success, and a lot of people saw TDK just for Heath Ledger. Especially with the Joker gone, the Batman series doesn't look promising.
Welll, Deathly Hallows Part One will be out in 2010, Part 2, in 2011, we don't even know if Dawn Treader is going to be made, it's likely, but not NEARLY as likely as a few months ago, as I said in my vlog, i believe a good choice is New Line Cinema, they seem to be a good choice after seeing Lord of the Rings, Golden Compass, Journey to the Center of the Earth, it's VERY clear New Line Cinema can handle advertising, and the general feel of the TYPE of films...
...I don't think WB will even consider the film anymore, but i it'd still be my second choice, New Line being my first, now i've forgotten quite a few other companies i'd be okay with, i'd be okay with MGM, Columbia, then it kind of goes down from then on, Paramount being way down the list followed still by Fox and Universal. Fox i DON'T want to see Narnia made by Fox, or Universal, this just clearly sucks
one problem with New Line. New Line is a part of Warner Brothers now. I believe I heard that Warner Brothers brought it. It will still be a Warner Brothers film.
I've always hated Disney. The only thing I liked about it was Narnia. I don't like that Narnia was produced by the same people that produce High School Musical and all that crap >:[ All they care about is money.
I can't believe this...What is it with Disney leaving things unfinished? The series "Gargoyles" was released on DVD up until "Season 2, part 1", and they just decided not to release part 2. And there are others as well...then they had to go and crush the hopes of Narnia fans everywhere!
Corporate jerks...If it's true, I have to say that I'm extremely disgusted.
Yah, that was a great Christmas present. I'm still trying to be hopeful. It may be a trying economic time, which I'm sure went into Disney's decision and will influence other studio's decisions, but it might actually help. Dark times are when fantasy stories do best, I think.(Wasn't LOTR just after Sept. 11th?)
Anyway, I understand all your arguments, and unfortunately they're probably true. But I still *am* trying to maintain hope.
True. I didn't bring that up. Maybe this will prove to be Disney's second big mistake? First they let go of Lord of the Rings, and then they let go of Narnia.
Whoops! Darn it, I didn't catch this video in time before I filmed my own vlog on this topic. Would've been nice to see your opinions before saying my own.
It's so sad...things were looking SOOO good 18 months ago, when we thought it would be realeased in May 2009, and The Silver Chair would be coming the year after that.
Do you think that there's ANY possibility that, in 10 or 20 years, the movies will be remade with a new cast and crew?
As for possibilities, there are of course possibilities. Unfortunately, Douglas won't be around then to keep them from cutting out father Christmas and changing dialogue and things like that. Sure there's a possibility, but it takes more courage to pick up a failed franchise than to remake a successful one.
Well..there making a third movie :3 im really glad xD

Love the LOTR swords in the BG. And here's to hoping that Walden can find a company to keep the Dawn Treader afloat.

Let's wish LOTR's luck comes back for Narnia.
You make me feel so negative =( I'll cry.

New Line got downsized after they dropped the ball on The Golden Compass. Now they're a small company again.

I think around the time the golden compass was about to come out there just about to be takeover by the wb anyway

I was so sad to hear Disney is leaving but I hope the new one will be just as good. Hopefully Aslan will be better like from the LWW

Warner Brothers may not see it as competition. The Harry Potter film era is almost over. They may want another series.

Not for another 3 years. Plus the Batman series could go for a while.
