Frank miller once said in an interview that kevin and miho were demons. miho being the "good" demon and kevin being the evil demon. it makes sense too. both never talk, or even open their mouths, and both never show any sign of human emotion, and they are the two characters in the movie that are fluently skilled in martial arts.
