great cover - I think if you used both upward & downward strikes on the bottom D string in the main part of the verse it would sound 100%

in my opinion using only downward strikes doesn't give you the right 'attack' on the bottom D string and it doesn't sound quite right. (i experimented with it for a long time!)

It will depend on your amp and guitar (pickups) but,,,,,,,,turn up your amp till a sustained note feedsback, then turn it up a bit more. That should do it.

Late reply so you may already have figured it out. But just in case...tune the top string to the 3rd string down. Or,,,, fret the top string on the 7th fret and tune to the second string down.

This is legit man, spot on. I have a question though, during the chorus at 3:27 and at 3:24 you play a bar chord on the second fret which everyone does, but if you listen to the song that is not what he is playing. The chord sounds much narlier and deeper. I'm not trying to be critical I was just wondering if you noticed that.

Don't get me wrong! I love Tool and their music they are great musicians. But, they piss me off! They only relase an album every five years and they don't publish their songs in song book form with TABS. That really does suck and the only way that one gets to see them live is by paying a stack load for an airfare and accommodation in some foreign country which also sucks.
