  • Quick Question,How do i get Constitution class in the game?

  • I haven't played STBC in a while but as far as I can remember - there's a Constitution class that comes with Kobayashi Maru

  • I remember when I was playing this game a lot with the latest KM mod at the time. I did a saucer separation with the Galaxy and could never get them to reattach again. Every Galaxy class in the fleet faced the same dilemma, needless to say we all eventually lost power and got destroyed.

  • That happened to me once. I just downloaded and re-installed the MVAM Infinite mod, seemed to fix it for me at least.

  • Looks awesome man. I love this game. So many fun times :) They should make a new BC, with a new engine. That game would be amazing.

  • I wish they would make another BC. I think it's amazing how this game is standing the test of time with the amount of mods and such.

It'll be 10 years old next year.

  • I wish I could get the mods to work. No ships show up in the custom mission menu, fallowed all instructions exactly tried this over 20 times in different days of the week in case I missed something. I think it is because my version with a self installer and is missing some required files?

  • Do you make sure to enable the necessary mutators in "Customize" under the "Options menu?

  • lol im watchin this movie right now

  • Question. I have the latest KM mod I have not been able to fly in or dock into the space station or a Dock. Even when I have it selected as a target and or the ship to dock. Same with planet orbit. The ship gets caught into a gravity well and is crushed. Anyone have any tips? Thanks

  • I've had that problem in the past. There's just too many things that could be the cause of it...I'd recommend heading over to a site where all of the modders generally hang out and have people who may be of help.

    It's called bc-central[dot]com

  • @LordReserei01 Thanks

  • @PotholesInMyLawn have you activated "Use Thrusters to counter gravity" in the science menu?

  • @TheMatzetopia Thanks I will give it a try.

  • where can i find this game to download? i used to play enemies of life on vista but i cant seem to get it to work on windows 7.

  • I haven't had any problems playing this game so far knock on wood and I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit (used 32-bit for this video).

Have you tried all of the usual stuff like running the game is Windows XP SP3 compatibility mode?

Other than that there's thepiratebay but you could probably pick the game up for around £10 or less on eBay (that's where I got my copy from back in 2006).

  • Nice, I wish Eve could somehow acquire the rights to produce StarTrek ship models. That would be absolutely gorgeous considering how advanced the graphics were last time I played it last year.

  • Yeah, I imagine they would be!

I've played Eve once or twice using a friend's account...made a video quite recently actually with the Incursion patch/expansion and the latest version of the character customization.

I've also upgraded my PC a bit since making this video...Core2Duo E7500 3.2Ghz (overclocked), 4Gb DDR2 RAM (overclocked), HD5670 1Gb GDDR5 (overclocked) so can run Eve maxed out graphics wise in all of it's glory at 75FPS (the refresh rate of my monitor). =)

    /watch?v=n_0ApKVrG4Y

  • is this a new game or the same with mods

  • Bridge Commander with mods. A short list is in the underbar/description.

Altthough, a small team of fans are making a Bridge Commander 2 kinda called Excalibur.

  • Best Trek game of all time!

  • @lcmorgan1221 try star trek voyager: elite force. that's definitely #1

  • They have a youtube channel I think, if you watch the latest weapons test it looks pretty good so far. Best thing is that the planets no longer look like badly painted Hollywood backdrops. Though I'm not sure when it comes out (as it is a modders game, not a commercial one,). If you want to see what they were doing with the characters, go to the STBC files site and look for Elite force characters. You will be blown away at what they did to the bridge chars and its been remodded for dwnload STBC!

  • I wish a new, all updated version of Bridge Commander was made, with nothing but improvement above the original. I have a 1600x900 laptop now, and unfortunately the game only goes to 1024x768. With some of the mods I think there's also the occasional stability issue...

  • I'm not up to date on the mods that are out because I haven't played this in a long but months ago a Beta of Kobayashi Maru 1.1 came out that supported widescreen resolutions of 1600x900, 1440x900 and higher straight out of the box so to speak.

I'm not sure if it's released or still in Beta but it might be worth keeping an eye out. =)

I know how you feel with the 4:3 resolution since I have a 16:10 widescreen monitor of 1440x900 and dislike the stretching if your monitor supports auto-adjust.

  • @LordReserei01 I visit BC Files now and then; I only have KM 1.0 at the moment, so I'll keep watching. That'd be great once it's done, by the sounds of it. :D

  • Yeah, I tried the Beta and it was great. I have a video for the Beta on my channel if you're interested although like with any Beta...ships and stuff may change so don't take it as a final preview. =)

  • @ProtoKun7 Some modders over at the UK are working on the Excalibur Project which is supposed to be based on BC but after First Contact. It has a much upgraded graphics engine with much more breathing room, a whole new story and you can do nearly everything you can in the series and movies. The best part is that it is free for the community! Obviously the storyline will revolve around the Excalibur Class USS Excalibur so that will be interesting.

  • Man!...I forgot about Excalibur!...isn't the graphics engine based off of the NanoFX Evolved engine?...know how it's progressing?

like I said, haven't played this game or been keeping up to date with the modding community side of things...all I do remember is that the idea was cool, it was looking cool and the physics of NanoFX Evolved were pretty nice.

  • Niiiice, do u know of any sites i can buy this game online without having to ship it ?? :D

  • I have no clue, I bought mine off of eBay around 5yrs ago.

  • @LordReserei01 okay, i live about half around the globe so buying from ebay is a little hard lol :D thanks anyway :D

  • @CrazyBrainDead I have the original game when it first came out in 2002 :D

  • @Samus312 I just bought it from ebay :D

  • She boggled the woombly.

  • Was that the Enterprise from the 2009 film I saw?

  • Wow...damn, didn't notice this comment before. My bad for the late reply, I'm usually on top of things. XD

It is/was the Enterprise from the 2009. =)

  • loveley i love this u got a + from meh!

  • Thanks, means a lot. This is still one of my personal favourites and which I think is one of best.... definitely took a long time and a lot of hard drive space because of Fraps. lol

  • @LordReserei01 it doesnt mattah hey can yah make some vids of the Voyager species 8472 battle???

  • where do you get the separation mod

  • It's part of the Kobayashi Maru mod - MVAM and only works with MVAM enabled ships like the Prometheus, Galaxy class and a few that I can't name right now off the top of my head.

  • Mine isn't as modded

  • can anybody tell me the name of that song?

  • Master of Shadows by Two Steps From Hell

It's actually from one of the trailers for the movie 2012. =)

  • Really wish I could get this game installed under Windows 7 x64...

  • I have only have Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit and have very little experience with 64-bit.

The only suggestion I have is heading over to bc-central(dot)com, it's where modders and such hang out...give loads of tech support for the game too. =)

I may need to remake this video though, upgraded my CPU and video card since, have a couple more ST:BC videos that might interest you. =)

  • @LordReserei01 So I picked up ST online right my opinon its ok sure it would be better alot better if my PC could give the graphics a better bite to it. Look horrible on mine. That is the main reason why i quit my subcription. 2. u really can't explore any space by free will and once u finish a misson on a planet u can never go back. I guess they really take this exploring thing not to strong, after all its star trek.

  • Cool, still wish they'd do a free trial thing though...seems a waste of money if you don't like it or anything like yourself and cancel your subscription because I've heard other people say what you have while other people love it...so reviews are mixed. ^.^

  • @LordReserei01 Don't get me wrong i'll try it some other time if i ever get a stronger computer, and hopeing that with more patches or updates that there fix some odds & ends of it. But only time will tell. But at least someone has a good start with the online concept.

  • @LordReserei01 Oh hey forgot siince i saw ur vid few months back its gave me the task of creating mine as well go too my channel as check out some of my star trek vids. Dont forget the comment as well

  • Awesome, I always have trouble installing ships, I've not found any simple 1,2,3 step instructions, I've not got anything apart from Kobayashi Maru installed.

  • Thanks. =D

Although I've always found them straight forward, copy/paste into the installation directory and overrite if asked...it's more or less the same for any game. O.o

As I suggested in a prior pcomment, head over to bc-central(dot)com and you'll find all the help you'd need...everyone's friendly and accepting in that forum. =)

  • Hi

    Thanks alot for your help.

I have stuff I really want to add in, I've been told I need something about Foundation but thats where I get confused, I have tried it.

    Thanks again

  • Ooooh...you don't know need to worry when it says stuff like Requirements: Foundation NanoFX MVAM Quickbattle Kobayashi Maru 1.0 comes with those already so when installing Bridge Commander you basically just to do this. 1) Install ST:BC 2) Install ST: BC Patch 1.1 3) Install Kobayashi Maru 1.0 After you've installed those in that order just copy/paste the folders in the .zip or .rar (which ever the mods were packed as) files as instructed and you're sorted. =)
  • 1. extract the file you have downloaded

    2. copy the files which you have extracted to the route directory (where the game is installed)

    C:\Program Files\Activision\Bridge Commander

    3. start the game and play!

  • Wow, I think this may be the most graphics I have seen from BC to date!

  • I'm glad you like it.

I tried to capture as much as possible that can or has been done with BC so far, it was a challenge considering my PC specs aren't exactly high-end. ^.^

It's amazing what modders can do with a 2002 game isn't it? =)

  • Also, I tend to think why make a video showing you pointing and clicking while playing the game when there's so much cinematic properties by using F1-F9? =P

  • now i've downloaded alot of differnt mods for this, whitch is keepin the life of this game longer. U wouldent happen to know if there's any high Res graphics for the ships (& not just a few of them), cuz i'm to the point where all i want is perfect graphics like u would see on TV, cuz yours look pretty good too, may be my graphic card too

  • Most of them come with High rez textures already, as part of the ship or in a separate folder.

Ideally to run the game with mods like in this video you need an nVidia GeForce 7600 512Mb RAM or ATI X1650 Pro 512Mb RAM like what I had when I made this.

In all honesty, the best place to go and find out would be bc-central(dot)com, it's where all of the well known modders hang out and often announce mods coming up or works in progress.

Most are friendly and willing to help. =)

  • thanks for the input yea i have the nvidia GeForce 7600, between the graphics and damage graphics, what type of damage graphics u use, i've been using a mix sometimes JLS Federation DamageFX

& FluxCapacitor's Realistic Damage Textures v1.1 whitch one u think is better

  • I have everything set to high including damage graphics and as for the damage mod, I've always used and loved JLS Federation Damage over FluxCapacitor's. =)

  • I have to say all in all this is a great game, and these mods from dedicated players have kept it alive. Now it would be something to this game remade with 2009 graphics and what not. My opinion this is better then Legacy, with there being more micro-management like the real thing. If only gene roddenberry was alive to see this, he would be proud, keep the vids commin

  • I know right? I have both this and ST: Legacy.

ST:BC surpasses Legacy in leaps and bounds for the same reason of micro-management, I agree he would be considering the experience it gives you in single player and quick battle.

I want to know when Star Trek: Excalibur is coming out, the game being made by modders including a graphics engine based on NanoFX Evolved with gameplay like ST:BC and Elite Force.

I think that may be the closest thing to Bridge Commander 2. =)

  • yea i've heard about it, , but really never checked into it. When do u know when the project started, or do they have some type of guess when it may be done. With the new generation systems out, and so much info put on CD's it would be cool not only to command a starship but to roam within it to, interacte with the crew and not just the basic crew. Have alsome story lines where your choice effects everything, and have it like fallout 3 with differnt verbal choice. What about ST online, uuummmmmm

  • ST Online looks sweet, just hope it's not P2P and micro-transaction based like Guild Wars or other MMO games with item stores as a source for funding rather than subscription based.

  • does the game work well with windows 7

  • Yes, there is also an fps boost with gaming in general Windows 7, although maybe barely noticeable since it may be only 2-5 frames over say XP for example.

I can't compare it to Windows Vista as I skipped that OS all together, hence using XP for comparison.

I do also have to mention, that I'm currently playing the game in "Windows XP SP3" compatibility mode too as I'm doing with all of my pre-vista/7 games. =)

  • My CPU doesn't support virtualization nor do I have the RAM to use Windows XP Mode

  • Niiice! I like it!

  • Thanks. =D

  • AWESOME!!

  • Thanks. =)

  • Hell yeah, Nebs right! Good work man!!!

  • Thanks. =)

  • cool :D

You need to do a BC montage using most of the ships available from BC Files some day XD

  • Thanks, I've often thought about it but two things come to mind.

    1) The task might huge

    2) With my current PC specs and vision, my PC would burst into flames I'm sure.

Trying to get an upgrade or two by Christmas then maybe after that I'll give it a go. =P
