What if our ENTIRE WORLD could become unified (I do not mean "one world government" just unified), if all wars could end and all the nations of the world were to work together to further science and exploration. Alma would be like one "hole in the wall" noodle store in Chinatown compared to how much science infrastructure there would be!
i apologize if you thought i meant it in a cynical manner. i'm a huge fan of what they are doing. but getting all the materials, THAT many satelites, the crew, the conditions, the upkeep. you gotta wonder, right?
@mistergarth NO, what we REALLY need to spend the money on is the WAR ON DRUGS. We MUST get rid of any substances politicians and the pharmaceutical companies do not approve of! And dont forget BAILOUTS for irresponsible banks! That is way more important than this telescope!
yeah, i hope they find something useful. still, could you imagine writing up the grant for a project like this? And in conclusion, this 350 million dollar project will...
Yes, true. But on 1.57 you can see the heat haze in the background. Furthermore the observatory dishes are lit differently than he is. He is superimposed on the background.
well of coarse.. but isn't dryness measured by the amount of rain fall.. and very little rain has fallen in some parts of Antarctica for many centuries

Bien por Chile, America y el mundo.
El norte chileno se ha convertido en el principal observador del universo, eso gracias a sus cielos limpios y sin humedad.

.... but it isn't the driest place on earth - antarctica is. It hasn't rained (or snowed) there for thousands of years
vulpecula999 2 years ago
But Antarticas ground is covered with ice. Also in the summer, the ice melts, and in the winter it freezes. So there must be water in the air.

Dr. J (aka real name): you're blue-screened and that jacket doesn't fool anyone...
Nice try though.

I don't know much about video recording, but was wondering if it was screened. Everything far and near was just too in focus :)
I enjoyed the view anyways, both ups and downs.

for real, who the fuck has that much money to spend in the name of science?

"who the fuck has that much money to spend in the name of science"
Yeah, we should spend our money on important stuff, like invading and occupying countries which pose no real threat to us or anybody else.

Hahaha I love the jacket in the desert.
stengevarsel 3 years ago
the desert can be a lot colder than you think...
especially in the morning... and in winter
tiby2403 3 years ago 3
Of course.. Thanks for pointing it out:)

I know that :))
I was merely stating out, that people would most certainly wear such jackets in the desert, in winter, at such height :)
tiby2403 3 years ago
He may have worn the right jacket for tha region, but since this video was made in a studio, he still felt quiet warm I guess.

Yeah, but when you take off your gloves and take some snow on your palms, they will get wet.
