  • Hey coach shouldn't you bring your hips through at the top of the movement?

  • @dbrothaman This is a triple extension movement, hips lockout midway and then you absorb the landing by bending the knees and bringing the hips down and back

  • 0:16

    SORCERY

  • which muscle groups is this excercise targeting??

  • @GoekhanC Calves... Lower legs.

  • His elbow is bending, this is not a true DB snatch. Your elbow needs to stay near locked, and your arm needs to stay straight. This is more like a shitty clean and press.

  • the arm has to bend to keep the load close ,hes not doing a dumbell swing. There was no pressing action either.

  • Good teaching.

  • @nnic1265 Any explosive or olympic type lifts are going to have a greater risk for injury but this is significantly safer than the BB snatch due to the mechanics of the exercise

  • @het2002 I thought that was disproven.

  • @mjm2005 How do you mean disproven? Olympic snatches have a high risk of injury compared to this. Mainly because of the weight factor. In fact all olympic movements have a high risk of injury as they are fast movements that require great concentration and muscle balance. With a dumbbell snatch pressure is taken off the wrists unlike in a clean etc...

  • Good stuff.

I bought your book a few years before the DVD was added. Nice to see the exercises demonstrated.

    Thanks Mike.
