  • Gotta love Abe.

  • Hey Tom can you get me off the hook for old times sake

  • HAPPY 90TH BIRTHDAY, ABE VIGODA, AND THAT'S THE BOTTOM LINE!!!

ABE "THE BIG 9-0" VIGODA ON HIS BEST DAY!!!

  • Loved his character on Barney Miller!!!

  • Dam they had enough Fish shows to run it 5 days a week at that channel.

  • 'i got more rhymes than abe vigoda' --beasty boys

  • Where can I find this show ??? It's not on Hulu or Realcast . com .

  • Abe Vigoda's most famous role is that of Tessio in The Godfather...''Hey Tom, can u get me off the hook?....For old times sake?.....

  • @jpaulghetto Yeah, I always remember his as Fish in Barney Miller from back when I was a kid, but I never got to see his classic performance as Tessio in The Godfather until I was much older.

  • "Weekdays at 4:30" That's a dead give-away that we're talking about re-runs here.

Yes, we had re-runs way back in 1980. Imagine that!

  • It's actually called SYNDICATION. And it was GOOD!

  • Ah, the great channel 17!! So many memories!!

  • abe vigoda rocks!!!

  • Wow, I thought he was already dead.

  • I just started watching Barney Miller a few months ago. If it's true that Abe Vigoda was born in 1921 (according to Wikipedia), he was only in his early to mid-50's when he played "Fish" on that show. Wow! He did a great job of making me believe that he was much older. So, I guess he's about 88 or so now, in 2009. Yeah, based upon the perceived age of his character, "Fish", I never would have guessed he was still living either! Good for him!

  • Footage of Fish is rare and hard to come by, Abe Is

    Definitely alive,

  • OMG! Thanks so much for posting. Brings back so many Phillie memories!

  • I remember the promo and the show, thanks

  • Thank you for posting this!

  • I was online watching some of the clips from the Friars Club roast of Matt Laurer and Abe Vigoda was there... Up until that moment I thought he was dead. I used to watch FISH back in the day and I thought(I hope this doesnot offend) he was about 60 years old. By the way, how old is he?

  • He did a commercial for ESPN with Randy Johnson and he keep asking Randy if he was Italian. My daughter calls her Beta Fish Abe Vigoda.

  • This show rocked. Go Abe

  • I could've sworn that he was dead, but he's not.

  • for whatever reason, news stories often pop up about people who have died. i myself saw a report about his death...and they played scenes from Barney Miller...but he's still among the living. i think because he's a character-actor and has always appeared to look older than he is and he keeps himself out of the public eye a lot of people just assume he's no longer living AND reports of his death on and off don't help, either. He's 87 years old to answer a previous question.

  • ha...i just now caught my mistake. i meant to say "for whatever reason, news stories often pop up about people who have died but are really still living".

  • jack lalane is a 150 years and in good shape

  • This was a great show - He's a great actor.

  • channel 17 in philly

  • I Have A Group On The Old PHL17

  • He's still alive?

  • Yes, you can still see Abe when he makes cameos on Late Night with Conan O'Brien!

  • When Abe Vigoda finally dies and it announced in the media, I bet most people will say "I didn't know was still alive"

  • Lol. Just last week, I was trying to decide whether Kirk Douglas was still alive.

  • Kirk is alive and well.
