If you're against street racing, then don't watch the videos. Commenting about it isn't gonna do one bit of good. If the Type R driver knew how to drive the car a little better he would have overtaken the scirroco sooner. VW's make all their torque very soon with turbo or not, and are heavier. That's the downfall when racing a lighter car with more revving capability. And what's up with VW putting turbo's on cars that barely make power. The new GLI has less horsepower than the previous.
Japanese Type R (225bhp stock) with aftermarket exhaust (very loud!!!!) and maybe some other bolt-on like intake against I suppose a Scirocco 2.0TSI, stock or modded?
In the end, the BMW holding the camera fast the faster car... maybe a 335Ci?

In fact is that FD2 Civic Type-R is the faster car in the category. FWD. In this case the drivers doesnt have the skills to use the car properly.
The Scirocco is faster than the EP3 and FN2. But not close the FD2. And i'm just talking in straight line. Put both on the track and you see the real big difference. Even with Scirocco R.
The FD2 is a huge leap in a matter of grip performance.
@fragosomusic lol, just tweak the engine with the MTM Turbo upgrade and it will easily get 501HP. Whereas the FD2R will only get 410HP with a supercharger on it.

About the Civic there's more to do than a Supercharger. Change the pistons and some Engine stuff. The Admission also. But i think its not a comparison of power.

Scirocco is more the kind of car that somebody will use for a peaceful daily use and a lot of Highway trips, has less consumption, role in lower rpms (less noise), and is more civilized, yet powerful, but it's not emergent.

Go inside one with a propper driver and you will understand why that car was the latest leap from Honda. Sadly that version isnt for sale in Europe.

If we're looking for a fast yet reliable car, we should most probably looking at a Mitsubishi or a Subaru. But yeah, the insurance is quite steep. I must say that I don't like cars with no low end torque especially in these stop start traffic conditions. I would chose the Accord Euro R or S2000 over a Civic anyday. Well, that's my opinion.

I've used an Civic EP3 one week and the car has same torque has a regular Turbo Diesel with 110hp. If you want the power you has to push to higher revs, is a fact. Start and Stop is not for it.
@ClubbySuperCharged I have friends with Honda and Toyota's and they're really reliable, more than any Turbo-Charged. Well if you Heat up any Turbo-Charged vehicle before some full gas accels and speed, it wont give you any problems in general. Also have to let them breath a bit before switch them off. Most of the people dont know that and fuck the Turbo's. I like more the atmosferic because i'm not patient enough to wait for the real temperature. But my actual car is Turbo-Charged one.

Well if the peak is about 8000 rpm why push them to 10000. 8500rpm i can understand, because when you shift to upper gear you have the RPM in a better power phase. But 10000rpm, WHY???. That's not good for the engine.
That's why i say part of the people that use sport's honda's is kids with no brains other part is people that know how to use it.

Is that Scirocco a 1.4 or 2.0?
With all honesty, my 1.4TSI Scirocco couldn't keep up with a modified FD2 CTR but it wasn't getting away easily (despite mine was totally modified).
I've seen magazine interviews with a Scirocco 2.0 and a FD2 CTR, the Scirocco 2.0 would be 1 sec faster than the FD2 to 100km/h according to V-Box.
Anyway, I have no bias and I like them both.

@shadowbillyphone for me that i known that if scirocco 2.0 turbo wolden been smoked by a type r. besides is 1.4 scirocco and the type r is k24 block or been mode in other parts ^^ but for 2.0 fd2r will getting away from scirocco 1.4 not much when top end that my point if iam mistake then correct me ^^
