chameleons are fantastic im from middleton, marks home town, met him last week at a chameleons vox gig .... seen the original line up in middleton in 2002 when they rejoined for a few gigs, shame they never got as big as some bands who i dont think were as good, but there manager died and they fell apart,as well as dave and marks relations being strained at times, good music though!
hey mark! fuck these twats you got the manc vibe true,,,im from longsight,, you did it for me and im fucked up ,,remember dave aslam and his pal who joined that monk thing in scotland then killed himself,,,,,who knows,,ur a geezer,,,as am i,,,inner city manchester,,,where we can grow to be,,, or we crumble an die,,too easily,,,
I am also Mark Burgess, also a musician, but in Bermuda. I've posted a video response where I'm playing bass although I also play guitar and do some writing as well.
He's a big Radiohead fan.. well so am I. But I'm the biggest Mark Burgess fan of all. this is a very cool song he's playing BTW. Brings back good memories of my friends and I hanging out on the roof of a morturary and partying. Don't worry, My friends parents ran the morturary.
it's cool to hear that mark digs current british bands. the bands he mentions are great! they should be proud they're being namechecked by someone so influential from the post punk era. sadly they'll never know, cos The Chameleons seemed to fall under the radar in the 80's. i was a teen then, who listened to loads of brit music back then, but didn't discover them until the early 90's. when i finally heard them, i was blown away. The Chameleons are a lovely little secret for us fans out there.
I have been a Chameleons UK fan since early 80s in Highschool. I'm amazed that the one few bands I like out of the 90s-2k period is a fav of his. "Radiohead". Coldplay is also a great band.
It's weird. He digs cold play and he really loves Radiohead which I always boast. Man I love these guys since the early 80s. So much garbarge in mainstream today. But this song is awesome. I feel like I'm back in Golden Gate Park Mid 80s :)
Mark is so real and from the heart. I had the great pleasure of performing with him acoustically when he made a very rare appearance in of all places Omaha, Nebraska (US). The performance was documented but I don't have permission to post any of it. He was great to play music with as well as hang out with. A very intense man.
Check out the album "A Long Way From Home" by Black Swan Lane (a collective including Mark Burgess). There are some gorgeous songs on there (my personal favorite is "Can't Say Till I'm There") that are absolutely reminiscent of the Chameleons's spirit, with a modern twist.
It's all made in a way to make him fall from the interview to the recording... Don't fall MarkB. Your music rocks, no need to prove or justify. : we're not abused by the media intent !
What did he say about Interpol in minute 1 ???

This interviewer is a complete wanker with all the interruptions. Ask a question and shut the fuck up.

This is great, and I'm sure the host is just excited to have him be interviewed but the host keeps cutting him off.

I personally think this is better than the Studio Recording.
They said "Mark Bugess" at the end. I cant believe they did that!
