I like the fact, he's not afraid to play blues on a Les Paul. Most of these types of songs are on Fenders. But, he says F@#$ it, I am playing what I want, and he lets his music bleed like that! Great Stuff!
@6070Rocking can't agree there, even if Gary is a fellow countryman. I'm afraid Gary is too much of a poser for my taste. All of his facial expressions are so contrived, not from the heart.
Think of Hendrix, Clapton, Joe Bonamassa, all swept along by the spirit which is The Blues.
Gary is good, but is like Vai and Malmsteen, no depth, all on the surface.
not from the heart?? gary is one of the most soulful guitar master of our days. joe is amazing. Great style and im gonna go to his concert next month. but gary is a guitar monster my freind
@6070Rocking Agreed, Gary is is stupendous player. Maybe i was harsh in my judgment, but he is not in the same league as say, Steve Lukather. Check out his playing of "While my guitar gently weeps" on youtube.
Joe IS the real deal...I do have a lot of respect for Gary Moore, he is a great bluesman but he blew it when he stopped playing the states...now nobody knows who he is...and Joe B has taken over the scene, and deserves all he gets...he is the master of bluesrock as far I'm concerned, so much feeling in each and every song he perfomes, I love this guy....
I can say only this about joe.for years i had lost my love of guitar and soulful playing and upon hearing my first JB track,i was inspired ....Thank you so much for bringing music back to my life bro.
Any comment said concerning this BOSS OF THE BLUES, this GREATEST MASTER OF THE BLUES THAT THE WORLD WILL EVER KNOW, that doesn't state emphatically that he is the best that there ever was and will ever be, is a comment with the rotten rootsof jealousy. All these wannabes, and those who now have to take 2nd and third place to Joe just can't stand the attention and fame that this BOSS OF THE BLUES is getting. JOE, YOU ARE THE MAN BABY. Love you greatly.
Music and Life are about growth, End Of Story! If you are just playing blues and all that jazz the way it has been done, Then there is not really any realness to you or your career as far as I am concerned. I love how "guitar Players" put others down for being better than them and they make it obvious that they feel inferior. Get lives and play for you not the past!
So called musicians and music critics, Jealousy and envy. Joe has paid his dues. People are listening to and watching Joe. Great style and music, thanks Joe.
he's doing a fantastic job and I think his voice is very soulfull and heartfelt....he's got that real nice Bluesy tone and uses it well....you should NEVER knock somebody who's doing as good as he is...even if your Gary Moore....and, I'm a huge gary moore fan but now I'm looking to the younger, rockier side of things and this man does it ALL very well...
gary moore might as well talk shit about deep purple and led zeppelin also... that arrogant fucker obviously doesnt understand that joe is more than just a blues guitarist. gary is amazing, but fuck that! you can hear his infleunces for sure, but it's all joe.
@kregg101 I agree with you totally m8. this is a great blues track thats been covered by many artists and will be by many more. just because he covers blues music dont mean he aint the man! most of the blues played by british artists in the 60's 70's were covers and i bet gary moore done a few himself in fact i know he did and made money off of them. anyway i digress joe is definatly the man imho.
@kregg101 So true. I guess when you can play all your heroes (Page, Clapton, Beck, Moore, SRV, Hendrix, Vai, EJ, BB) by 13. What the fuck should he do. Dis his influences when he turns 14. People are always going to talk shit. Your right, Joe is so much more than just a blues player.
@kregg101 U can see it and hear it..He looks and Sounds like Gary...And Gary is one of Joe s Influences....Did Gary Have Something Negative to say about joe?...I doubt that.
Having just seen Joe in concert the other night i have to say he is the real deal !! As to being an imitator who isnt these days ? 2 and a half hrs of sheer magic !!!
Joe adds his own touch...he studied Eric and does use some of his licks but mostly uses his own....We all sound like someone at one time or another...it's whoever we studied....it stays with us and we just add to it...Joe is great!!! just like Gary Moore...
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Why is he ripping off eric johnson so much!....fuck him. The unoriginal young blues player even has a relic'd signiture model lol!...no wonder gary moore disapproves. There's no denying how good he is...he is truly breathtaking sometimes....but there is something so unauthentic about him. He is an imitator.
He really has skills. But needs originality and "himself" in his music. Really well described by Gary Moore -
"if you want to be a blues artist, stop playing Yes songs and Indinan songs, and doing a bit of Derek Trucks and a bit of me. He's got a lot of influences but i think he's still got to focus to find his own voice really. I thik he has to focus on one thing, but i don't want to be derogatory. He's a great guy and he's going to be really, really good."
To be honest, I have I been listening to Joe for months now, for about 2 hours a day playing along and tabbing some of his licks, but have found myself truly irritated by his voice! ... :( I love his tone though!......But everyone knows he's only impersonating.
I can't believe Gary Moore said this about Joe! Not very legendary talk for the up and coming guitar "Hero" for all the world for the last 20 years. Joe is the "Real Deal" and is very much himself and original even though he say's he rarely has an original idea. Wrong, Joe =very original and in my opinion which is obvious world wide, Joe is the truth and everyone knows it, some just can't admit he is Great. What just this video and there is the proof, come on.
it's hilarious how people criticize legends without them even knowing shit.

Bonamasso is becoming boring. He was interesting as a kid. But sorry...

@800988 you should work on spelling the mans name right before you criticize one of the current leaders in mainstream blues.

enjoy it my dear frierd. your gonna like it

@6070Rocking listened to it. loved it, BUT! too much like a satriani/sykes soundalike.
closest he gets to blues is Andy Timmons Blues Jam @ Musikmesse Frankfurt 2008.
at least he isn't a widdlefest merchant like Vai and Malmsteen. That type o of playing has the same effect as getting a root canal filling!
listen to Santana live at woodstock soul sacrifice, or Hendrix playing anything!
Good to talk to a like minded guy for a change.
Keep commenting!
