The Republicans (and too many Democrats) want us constantly in a state of war that way they can scare the electorate and continue to destroy the Constitution.
The War on Terror has to be the dumbest and most dangerous concept ever invented by our government. Dumb because you can't declare war on a tactic and dangerous b/c we never declared war officially on anyone to begin with and the gov't can sidestep all rules of war.
We need to keep "War on Terror" purged from our vocabulary.
Let's see we have a "lone wolf" individual who has a certain ideology. Is this not the exact thing Janet Nepolitano's report said earlier this year that the Conservatives wet the bed over?
There we had a lone wolf individual(Holocaust Museum shooter for example) with a certain ideology (neo-nazism). Here we have a lone wolf individual (Hasan) with a certain ideology (radical Islam). And the difference is???
Yes Peter, unfortunately we've VERY familiar with the model of angry, paranoid, politically disenfranchised religious zealots being manipulated by demagogues, and becoming radicalized by crap they read on the internet.
We've had lots of experience with that as a result of the "patriot" movement (aka American Taliban). I'll be more than happy to accept your definition of Hasan as a terrorist if you'll label Scott Roeder as one, too.
The Right would love to kill or put all muslim-Americans in camps. Send all Mexican-Americans to mexico. and put all African-Asian-Americans back into slavery.. than go start 3 or 4 more wars while cutting taxes and raping babies
Its all Jargon! They just want to get people to hate. It seems like if your muslim your bad... news flash they're no different than any other religious institution!
They should cut off his hands so he can never kill again.he murdered innocent people, people with families and children, a long prison term is not enough for this animal.this guy was screaming jihad as he was murdering people, he was consorting with a known terrorist.how the hell did he get into the Army? don't they do background checks? God only knows what sensitive military secrets he may of given out to his fellow terrorists friends.... i hoipe they fry this murderer.
I'm Muslim, seen it happen to others. None of them have killed anyone, and may never, but they certainly applaud what he did, encourage others to do the same, and are actively involved in proselytizing to other Muslims. I don't know what should be done, but denying or ignoring it because it *sounds* Islamaphobic will not work.
"None of them have killed anyone, and may never, but they certainly applaud what he did, encourage others to do the same, and are actively involved in proselytizing to other Muslims"
True, but do you officially label ALL of those people terrorists? Nobody's denying there are islamic terrorists. But to say everybody who sympathises with their cause is a terrorist is just stupid and counter productive.
We have to PICK our battles against islamic terrorism if we expect to have any success.
No no, you're misunderstanding me. There are people who are supportive of Iraqis and Afghans fighting occupation and then there are those who are supportive of 9/11. The second is a much smaller group. I don't actually use the word "terrorist" because I don't think it has an actual meaning.
Of course I'm against xenophobia and randomly being suspicious of Muslims. I'm talking about a very defined group, and they don't hide their feelings.Honestly, they are a very very small group, but there.
Wow so i haev seen it all....a muslim attacks us again...and we still refuse to call them terrorists out of political correctness....what fools we have on the left!!!
He's suggesting that any Muslim anywhere is a potential terrorist. This approach won't get you anywhere with 1.5 Billion Muslims worldwide... you can't suspiciously surveil them all. Look in to what's wrong with your system or actions that prompts such random psychotic shootings which by the way are a regular US phenomenon anyway. This is is the first muslim to have done so.... I believe if the poor guy hadn't been bullied in the Army, he would've been healthier mentally.
I hate this Hasan guy, stupid mother fucker. What I hate even more is how difficult this guy has made life for Muslims living in the United states. Also Fuck the racists who are trying to use this to blame the Muslims in this country for what this peace of shit did.
We don't know if he was part of a group that is hell bent on terrorizing. Also, no group has taken responsibility for this. Almost every terrorist attack has been followed by a group taking responsibility.
There was an incident 8 months after 9/11 at LAX where an american citizen from Egypt shot 2 people in the international terminal - focusing on Isreal's national airline. If that wasn't judged as terrorism, this won't be either.
@p00lman Hey jerky...stop putting words in my mouth. I think I said he deserves death because of his actions. I don't think I said that we should be putting an entire ethnicity on trial here. Get your head out of the pc sand and stop feeling like a victim. You're not one.
@p00lman If the shoe fits. These things are obviously happening from a certain ethnic origin and geographical region. The Army failed (and other alphabet groups) is not letting each other know what was going on. More communications. Of course, one could argue that this was let happen for a reason. Another fear tactic being instilled in people's minds. While I do not advocate "racial" profiling, I do not believe in special "racial" favors either.
@p00lman Come on, man. Seriously? You don't see special favors for "minority" groups? (that aren't so minority anymore) Regardless of race, religion, etc., all the above examples you have should be given a trial and justice exacted immediately. Our "government" isn't really doing it's job anymore. Look at what's going on around us. Forget about color or religion. How about we focus on morals and ethics a bit more? You take a life, you have your life taken. It's that simple.
. . . okay, you're changing the topic, but let's go with that.
No, an eye for an eye isn't a productive way of living. Let's say that an enemy nation bombs one of our cities and kills many innocents. Does that give us the right to bomb one of their cities and kill more innocents?
That's really stupid. We need to be better than our enemies.
@p00lman Yes. I agree. However, the deed should not go unpunished. It's basically a breakdown of our laws and justice system here. You see where I'm headed with this?
@p00lman I'm sorry, but if you can't see what is spelled out in all the comments below, then I'm not taking the time to explain. And please don't come back at me with the word....RACIST! I so tire of hearing that when someone doesn't agree with someone else's idiotology. Have a nice day.
Please explain what you mean when you say it's "a breakdown of our laws and justice system." What is? And what is your solution?
I don't call anyone I disagree with "racist." I call someone "racist" if they're expressing racist sentiment. I also disagree with racist sentiment, but that doesn't mean I call everything I disagree with "racist." I don't like onions, but I don't call people who like onions "racist."
@p00lman If this man gets an insanity plea or is given lesser sentence than what a person normally would, then this is the special race card being played. We've all seen it before. We watch people of status and power get off for far worse offeneses than we would ever commit. (were one to do so) Point is...this will be viewed as the "poor baby" syndrome. I've already seen it. The Army caused him to do it. The Army made him shoot all those people. Nope. HE killed all those people.
@p00lman In a regular case, it shouldn't. Due to the impact of any decision reached though, the insanity plea will be reached because of the fact that he is Muslim. You're right. The race shouldn't matter in a murder case. Look around more and more though. Minority status is being exploited to reach lesser sentences. It's just what we've devolved into. We should get out of it as a society, but we'll only slip deeper. Morals and ethics should rule. Not dollar value and skin color.
@p00lman Useless conjecture. I'm gonna lay cash down on it though. It won't be said because he's Muslim, but that'll end up being why. Race card, my friend. It's played a lot these days. This will essentially tell the world that it's ok to kill Americans on American soil if you're "crazy". See if it doesn't play out this way. I REALLY hope it doesn't, but something tells me it will.
So . . . you have no evidence that's ever been done before, and if they give him an insanity plea, you'll have no evidence as to the reason they gave it, but you'll assume now they'll do it because he's Muslim? That just doesn't make a shred of sense.
@p00lman Nope. No evidence at all. And ever stop to think that the reason minorities get jailed more often is because they commit more crimes? There's the victim mentality for you. They play it well. Happens every day. Oh no! You're profiling us! Pay no attention to the fact that we commit most of the crimes. Just listen to us whine about being caught doing it. No racism there. Just reality and fact.
The fact (we're assuming) that minorities are more often caught committing crimes doesn't mean they actually commit more crimes. The poor minority youth is caught stealing a CD while the rich white youth illegally downloads many albums without getting caught. Just a hypothetical comparison about the advantages and disadvantages both have.
@p00lman Agreed. And it's a hypothetical that someone who thinks about killing someone and doesn't do it isn't as likely to be caught as the one who actually does the killing. Either way, it's a scapegoat situation. Know what I mean?
@p00lman It is. Different philosophies would classify this as the lesser of two evils in this case, I would assume. The insanity plea will actually prevent further hatred between two ethnicities. It's serves the purpose of the idea of "justice" and assures the man doesn't have his life taken. This makes the Muslims happy. It's the only way not to fuel an already huge fire.
What? He would get an insanity plea so as not to anger Muslims? He killed people. No one wants to protect that. Now you're being extremely bigoted toward anyone of Muslim creed.
How so? By saying that insanity plea will prevent further hatred and not insight further violence? Think about it, man. You have to admit that this population has been very tolerant toward this corporation and it's dealings. The plea would save face for both sides. We're back to the lesser of the two evils.
"This corporation"? Islam isn't a business, and no, "tolerant" isn't the word you're actually trying to use.
And how would it please Muslims for the court to say, "This man shot people because he's insane." That seems like it would be just as insulting, based on how you're perceiving reaction from the Muslim community.
You always try to figure out the "who" part before "why" and that's how 9/11 and 2 ONGOING wars can happen.
So my question to you sir chop98:
Why are "these people" committing crimes? What is the reason behind it. Who gives a fuck if someone is an immigrant or black'/white when a crime has been commited? Find out why this someone committed the crime instead of "who" and you might actually end up with less then 2 million fokes in Jail
@Falsare hehe You're so right, man. If we knew why (education, teachings, etc.)...then we could put a stop to it. With the decline of the education system here though, that's not likely to happen. One of the many reasons that our country is going to collapse. We'll send you a postcard after the meltdown. :) Oh yeah, and if we didn't have all the crimes, our beloved judicial system couldn't make the kind of money it does, could we? The corporation is locking down.
Your assessment is spot on. Our nation responds in that way because many Americans react to news like this purely on their knee-jerk emotions. Our media and justice institutions play to those faults for the sake of money, and compound the problem.
@p00lman HE killed the people. Not his religion or ethnicity. It just so happens that this region is where it comes from. CAIR doesn't like this stuff. It stifles their little agenda ( i believe) of having a lot of say in our government. Hell....why not? Everybody else besides Americans seems hell bent on controlling this country. It's a sad day in America if he gets off free.
You and your @ signs look very awkward. Just use their username in a sentence along with your point. Don't talk @ them. It looks very rude to most of us.
@BullnBearAnalytics Oh? I offended you? How about this then? I could give a damn less about how rude you think an @ symbol looks on an internet webpage. Get a life outside your netiquette.

This will essentially tell the world that it's ok to kill Americans on American soil if you're "crazy". See if it doesn't play out this way. I REALLY hope it doesn't, but something tells me it will.
chop98 2 years ago
So . . . you have no evidence that's ever been done before, and if they give him an insanity plea, you'll have no evidence as to the reason they gave it, but you'll assume now they'll do it because he's Muslim? That just doesn't make a shred of sense.
Minorities get jailed MORE OFTEN than whites.
p00lman 2 years ago
@p00lman Nope. No evidence at all. And ever stop to think that the reason minorities get jailed more often is because they commit more crimes? There's the victim mentality for you. They play it well. Happens every day. Oh no! You're profiling us! Pay no attention to the fact that we commit most of the crimes. Just listen to us whine about being caught doing it. No racism there. Just reality and fact.
chop98 2 years ago
The fact (we're assuming) that minorities are more often caught committing crimes doesn't mean they actually commit more crimes. The poor minority youth is caught stealing a CD while the rich white youth illegally downloads many albums without getting caught. Just a hypothetical comparison about the advantages and disadvantages both have.
p00lman 2 years ago
@p00lman Agreed. And it's a hypothetical that someone who thinks about killing someone and doesn't do it isn't as likely to be caught as the one who actually does the killing. Either way, it's a scapegoat situation. Know what I mean?
chop98 2 years ago
Um, it's not a crime to think about killing someone.
p00lman 2 years ago
@p00lman You got it. :)
chop98 2 years ago
But it is a crime to download illegally.
p00lman 2 years ago
@p00lman It is. Different philosophies would classify this as the lesser of two evils in this case, I would assume. The insanity plea will actually prevent further hatred between two ethnicities. It's serves the purpose of the idea of "justice" and assures the man doesn't have his life taken. This makes the Muslims happy. It's the only way not to fuel an already huge fire.
chop98 2 years ago
No, stealing is stealing.
What? He would get an insanity plea so as not to anger Muslims? He killed people. No one wants to protect that. Now you're being extremely bigoted toward anyone of Muslim creed.
p00lman 2 years ago
How so? By saying that insanity plea will prevent further hatred and not insight further violence? Think about it, man. You have to admit that this population has been very tolerant toward this corporation and it's dealings. The plea would save face for both sides. We're back to the lesser of the two evils.
chop98 2 years ago
"This corporation"? Islam isn't a business, and no, "tolerant" isn't the word you're actually trying to use.
And how would it please Muslims for the court to say, "This man shot people because he's insane." That seems like it would be just as insulting, based on how you're perceiving reaction from the Muslim community.

Jesus, what's up with you Americans?
You always try to figure out the "who" part before "why" and that's how 9/11 and 2 ONGOING wars can happen.
So my question to you sir chop98:
Why are "these people" committing crimes? What is the reason behind it. Who gives a fuck if someone is an immigrant or black'/white when a crime has been commited? Find out why this someone committed the crime instead of "who" and you might actually end up with less then 2 million fokes in Jail
just saying....
Falsare 2 years ago
@Falsare hehe You're so right, man. If we knew why (education, teachings, etc.)...then we could put a stop to it. With the decline of the education system here though, that's not likely to happen. One of the many reasons that our country is going to collapse. We'll send you a postcard after the meltdown. :) Oh yeah, and if we didn't have all the crimes, our beloved judicial system couldn't make the kind of money it does, could we? The corporation is locking down.
chop98 2 years ago

The Al-Qaeda Model = Muslim who disagrees with US policy and takes action on it.

@nom9rouge
Nice. "Take action on it" is the best euphemism I've heard yet for randomly gunning down 13 people in cold blood. Way to consider facts rationally.
