It is interesting to see what African artists have done with hip hop. Rather than just copying it as closely as possible as the Europeans have done, they seem to grabv it and reshape it to their own needs and then play it like they owned it from the start. This says something about the vitality of African music over all.
@leftysergeant - This song and the style that it is played in has nothing to do with Hip Hop. Everything from the folk instrumentation in the background to even the constant thud of the rhythm is straight Zulu music. Perhaps if people stopped trying to see Africa through their own eyes, perhaps they will realize how much of Africa exists in other musical genres.
@iayyam That intro has the same rythm as rap. Okay, so there are some idioms that may have made the crossing between Africa and America more than once.
i love S.A afropop called at times afrojazz What is the dvd title for all the songz.Ilike to add it to my collection.I have to aknowledge you've got an awsome collection of world music.Thx

Very good music indeed - when I listen to most African music, all other music fades into the backround.
Big up Africa!
