  • You did a good job with this, Thank you very much

  • Fusion is what happens when my fist hits your face

    LOL

  • According to fusion roadmap,

first fusion processor will be fuse a CPU and a GPU (2 core)on the same pcb only.

there is still long way to fuse all chips (CPU, GPU, system bridge chips) into one. (May be 4-5 years)

  • I know at AMD cinema 2.0 event they said that the 4870x2 is the size of a dime. It can't really be can it? That's just not possible. It's seems more like marketing talk. Please can I have answer for these two posts, because I really don't get it. Many thanks in advance and please keep the videos coming, they are amazing!!!

  • u mean the GPU is the size of a dime, and thats not true and AMD didnt say that, ur probably getting mixed up with Intel's Atom processor, THATS the size of a dime...

  • I don't understand, it says in the video cpu and gpu on one chip!!! Do they mean the cpu and gpu is being placed on the 790fx motherboard, but we can already do that???

Or is this fusion some new hardware that is going to ome out soon where the GPU and CPU is on 1 chip. But how can that be, you can't take a 4870x2 and place it together with a cpu and put it on 1 chip, chips are small and can fit in the hand, how would this work?

I know at AMD cinema 2.0 even they said 4870x2, continued

  • yes Fusion is CPU/GPU on 1 chip, just like Intel's Larrabee, they do it, by dividing the space in small processor size chips, say for example, half for the GPU and the other half for the CPU, because the GPU and CPU work similarly, u can make a CPU do graphics work and a GPU do processing work, but it wont be perfect cuz their designed to do specific tasks, Fusion perfects this and therefore enabling them to work together on the same chip, this would save power consumption and reduce heat...

  • So they'll be able to fit a 4870 into a chip the size of a CPU? That's kind of hard to believe.

  • @policeman1313 Well the Intel i3/5/7 series have a built in graphics thing in them so I do not think it is impossible.

  • @CookieMonzta1995 Yah it is possible, but Intel chips have not that power, it is more like a marketing plan, with those processors you always need a graphics card while with this technology you dont, AMD has always been better than intel with things related to graphics, intel is good for other things

  • @policeman1313 even more_ its a combined gpu and cpu on one piece of sillicon which is smaller than a penny - having enough power to do lots of things and for sure low wattage- intel tryes the same with clarkdale cpus but they dont even manage to get the cpu and gpu in one die so they DONT have an APU

  • @Cobalt961 I think what AMD means by "one chip" is that it will be on the same die. [just Google "processor die" if you don't know what it is"]
