Union`s are killing this City. Union`s do not care about our city or our kid`s. We should just get rid of the union like they have done in FL.

Gotta say, after seeing the 'meeting' that took place in EP tonight, Ms. Lawson, I am almost ashamed to be an EPHS grad.

Don't you teachers get it? The buyback should've been done away with years ago, and the fact that you STILL don't pay anything for health benefits amazes me. While I don't support the pay cut element of the plan, I think the teachers need to wake up and start paying.

Will it solve the problem? No. But is a start? Yes. And if it helps EP stay out of bankruptcy, good.

As a Riverside parent with two kids I say you need to take the pay cut and pay for your benefits. No one gets the buyback so I agree that needs to go. You say you are aware of the financial crisis. Why not teach my children about how you stood up and did what was right for the community. I will, however, say that whats good for the teachers is good for the administration also. If you take a pay cut so should the Superintendent and his staff.

I teach in another district, but am an East Providence resident and I support the East Providence teachers!!!
