are you in 2nd gear? is it stock gearing? what rpm do you come up at? and do you clutch or do you just crack the throttle? sorry so many questions, I have an '02 954rr (best bike honda ever made) and I have got my 1st gear wheelies down pretty good, I just want to work on my 2nd gear wheelies now.... any info would be appreciated, thanks!!!
no offense but those wheelies weren't that good. the rider needs to go back further and find his balance point cuz he's getting scared, not going back far enough, so he can't go too far on one tire. look up matt 954 wheelie up 50. that's a wheelie which i've witnessed from him many times.
dude, calm down i'm just trying to give a little bit of help here. you need to go back further to where it feels like you're gonna go backwards and just stay steady on the throttle, otherwise you're not hitting the balance point and you're relying solely on the power of the bike to hold you up
got those 954's are wheelie machines....lotsa power and it was before all the new suspension antidive andwheelie technology was put into the swingarms and frame design....also shorter stock gearing....the good old days.........
is the 954 to big for a first bike? iv been racing mx since i was 5. and now im 16. i want something with power but not to much that im guna kill myself on. plz rply asap thnx
my first bike was a 954. you just have to be mature about it. a 600cc can fucking kill you so i really dont think there is such thing as a starter bike lol
Im 16 an i have races mx for a long time also and a 954 was my 1st bike. I got it when i was 15 and started riding and it just takes some geting use to. Mite say its to big but if you are a good rider you will learn fast and learn how to control it. Everyone said when i was 8 that a 250 2 stroke was 2 big for me but i got where i could ride way better then the people that were sayin that. its the same way when i got my 954.
start out with a older 600.. they are carbeurated. thats your best bet. i have lots of experience on bikes. n like these guys said dont lose respect for the bike and take it easy for atleast 5000 miles... not gramma easy but u kno....
@KTMdude07 - It depends on the person. My very first bike was a 2002 954rr. If you respect the bike till your very comfortable with it you will have no problem.
@KTMdude07 r6 has no low end torque it suxs for street riding.....cbr600 or zx6r are gunna b the best 600's u can get or gsxr600 if u like to have a millions of custom options and accesories......DO NOT i repeat DO NOT get an r6 they sux for everything except real track days

yeah just change your foot to the rear peg for more balance and youll be able to stand it up further back and hit that balance point where you can go for miles until you get tired jeje

Way too much power for a first bike, this thing was torquey as hell. I started off on an R6, I would say get something along the lines of that.

agreed 100% ride with sense and ur good for pretty much any bike
globalpendemic2010 3 years ago
@p3nnywi5dom for someone that doesn't have any experience riding, don't get an r6. bad choice for a first bike, unless you've ridden before
guitarstar8675 1 year ago
mx is nothing compared too the tar my friend....an r6 is even too big 4 you!! try cbr 400 or vfr 4oo, both made by honda!
