back then, life just seemed normal , raving, pilling, smoking mixes .......................now here we are nearly 20yrs later and i miss those days (nights) more than anything, good thing is, now we can hear the tunes, and be back in the clubs we all remember , with the mates we remember like it was just yesterday.........hardcore will never die, 90's forever.
@benspeed1974 yeah for sure m8 i can remmber going out pn a thursady and comming home to my flat on a tuseday the mad partying that we on was sick, sometime after a club was just follw see where we would end up....oh th good old days
I think this is the same Rachel Wallace who provided the vocals under the pseudonym Garfield, and the track was entitled "Cool Cat". The music video obviously features Garfield the cat and it's a classic like this one.
I seriously think this kinda toon could make a comeback. Not rebranded as "Nu Nu Rave", nor just replaying the old toonz. It might even annoy Cowell. Simple acid-y beats and a lass singing. Always works. Ask any DJ. Seriously lost genre. Time to fight back for the original rave sound!!
oh why,oh owhy oh why have these raves slowly died out let someone bring back some reminders of some blinders and have a big ass rave in some farmers field, like it was, wear what yuh like/smiling happy people all together as one .....GET ME A MUVA FUNKIN TIME MACHINE LET ME TELL YUH!!!!
@sussexpenguin younger ppl still lovin this tune :) this was one of the biggest tunes in the east anglia free party scene 02-07. so still gettin played :) im 25 now so missed out on the 90s rave scene (gutted) but glad i discovered the raves in norfolk around 02, when i was 17. miss my first days of ravin...
What a set of pipes! back to bovine 220.. Any wannabee oldskool dj's seeking old tuneage, surf Discogs as a priority. It will save you a fortune compared to other online retailers. Yes I am a seller on there too so I am biased, but there are thousands of sellers with millions of tunes on the site, all over the planet. I am only really selling my CD's on there anyway, so I can buy more ol' class wax!! :)
This was a on a mix I was given yrs ago titled Davinia on the Decks. If ANYONE knows where I could get a hold of this mix again give me a shout ... Cheers
OMG, this takes me back to my days raving with the masses up North. Hacienda, Quadrant Park, Angels, Monroes, Wigan Pier, to name a few!! Keep the vibe alive!
@DJGaryGold - don't worry; all the music you could ever want from that time is here to be adored and appreciated by clued up younger 'ravers' like your good self! Respect. Spread the vibe, and let's get the revival on the way! Put on some old skool events, and get people dancing and loving each other again! But the music was ASTONISHING in those days- you have to hear these on big systems. Peace! :)
No worries- I've put on a few old skool events in Wales, and they always went down a storm. Keep your prices/overheads to a minimum, and don't charge huge amounts to get in. Advertise everywhere at least a full month prior, with internet AND flyers/posters, and you should be laughing. Outside events cost lots more, and are much harder to regulate (security & alcohol licensing to begin with) , so i'd stick to inside venues for now. Hope this helps!
@sussexpenguin hey boss i'm a pissy 37 but when you see comments on here by folks saying that their dads have all the tapes it makes you feel a bit over the hill.just keep the house pumpin i say
What ever happend to all the really good rave music like this? I wasn't around during the 80's and 90's rave scene, but I like the old school house stuff. There's gotta still be some good clubs that still play this stuff, right?
u obviously just got shit dealers mate, should stop living in the past and catch up, im young and like all old music and the new stuff too. the scene has obviously changed but u gotta appreciate it to have a good time, yh some kids dont have a clue but thats not everyone.
Wicked track. Don't make em like the old days! Only joking. Music has changed a lot since the 90's. Doesn't mean it's shite. Just different influences, that us older lot don't quite get. I remember when techno and hardcore came out. There was a news article on TV. Some music proffesser was saying that it wasn't really music, because the structures were wrong. But for some reason the kids still liked it! ha ha... Now, we're saying the same =)
not being funny mate all u lot are the same banging on about how good it was and how it will never be the same which is prbably right still, you saying how younger people listen to shit music and dress like girls is bullshit ive been listening to hardcore since i was about 12 and now im 17 dunno why u cnt jus appriciate people are still listening to it otherwise it would be dieing out alot quicker. epidemik 28th :)
I know that a lot of teenagers are into '80s stuff and I know that osme recent grads. I was speaking to last year at work were quite leous that I'd been to a efw raves in the early '90s. There's plenty of music I like that was about before I was born too.
