@cnx00x I was using a motherboard with an integrated ATI chip to cut down on power consumption, using powerstrip it worked a treat with the icc screen.
Very nice, Im currently building a computer to do exactly the same thing in my taxi. Although Ill be using a mobo with an onboard nvidia solution (its currently supported by the software to output the correct res and timing) along with the subwoofer, carputer, HID headlights and led parkers/indicators/brake lights...the things got to be the most heavily modified taxi in australia lol
if your using the ATI arcade video card did you know you can adjust the screen left, right ,up, dowd if you use the ATI control panel? or r u using powerstrip software?
@IHaZaRDx Hey mate, my car came with the premium audio, but you can grab a premium ICC off eBay and swap it into your car, though you will have to get it unlocked at Ford otherwise it will just display "security code". Be careful with the ICC, you can't start or lock your car without it installed!
The touchscreen is added to the ICC, you need to remove the unit from your car, unscrew the display and insert the touchscreen layer between the fascia and the display.
@MitchellOke thanks alot mate, im getting an xr6 soon and there hard to find with the 6 speed semi auto AND premium audio system, so i mite just get a standard audio system and put the touch screen in later :)
Looks good! There is an easy plug and play kit available from an aussie seller called Universalfuze. Google it and it will pop straight up.
Doesn't give you the touch screen interface but you can use your IPOD/IPHONE so you have an internet connection and the plug and play kit will see you completely installed in less than an hour :)
@KorumNinjaPirate Good idea, but not quite the same. Certainly simpler and cheaper though, but doesn't offer the same integration, or the "wow" factor :P
@Hoojarka Hey mate, just basically worked it out myself. I'd put PCs in my two previous cars, but those both involved integrating a screen into the dash where a double-din would normally go, this was the first time I'd done it with a factory screen. Much better with the factory screen, though it's a shame the display in the BA/BF is so small, my previous cars both had 7" widescreen Lilliputs.
Factory controls weren't integrated as such, all the air con and stereo controls normally appear on that screen, I just used the sat-nav video input to get the PC picture on the display, and then controlled it with the touchscreen.
No iPod integration with my setup, though I believe Centrafuse is capable of it.
@SeRbbOyCCCC Desktop PC in the boot with integrated ATI graphics (needed to run the right resolution/refresh rate of my factory screen), no laptop used here.
Hey mate, total cost would have been under $500, nope that's my original ICC, computer connects to the sat nav input. I used a motherboard with onboard ATI graphics to put out the 15k refresh rate needed for the factory LCD.
Hey mate, any chance of setting one of these up in my car? I'm on the central coast NSW. Cheers

do you have to have the premium audio system with the touch screen or can you have that put in later?

Very cool........how much ? I like the fact all the cars controls still work with it. Did you replace the whole ICC unit ?
