@KripDrip Wow, you couldn't sound like more of an asshole if you tried. How does wanting people to have freedom to live how they want to live mean he loves cancer?
@KripDrip You don't seem to have an understanding of the Constitution do you? It's supposed to protect people's freedoms and limit government so people can choose what they want to do, healthy or not. I suppose you also support heavy regulation of food and banning of fried food since it causes health problems also
Read more about the serious conflicts of interest in the FDA in appointing members to their advisory committees here - tobaccoanalysis.blogspot.com . Several are consultants to big pharmaceutical companies who are driving the anti-smoking campaigns to enrich themselves and they're allowed to pocket up to $50k a year.
In fact, Philip Morris itself support FDA regulation as a means to protect their market share from competitors.
Slightly (but only slightly) offtopic: Google "The passive smoking fraud"- Interesting how big a fraud this really is. Dairy products have been found to be 3 times more cancerous than tobacco smoke and still are considered harmless.
I guess in Ron Paul's ideal world -- the federal gov't would only collect taxes for the Pentagon & his salary! Heaven forbid any "regulations" of private industry!
Well at least there is one positive that can come out of this... we now have 44 million potential Ron Paul/Anti Big Government supporters.
Talk to all your liberal smoker friends and ask them how they feel about the government making their life decisions for them - I can't wait to receive my one day of the year pass to get fast food.
He's a constitutionalist, his personal morals are his own, but what is personal to him is denying people their rights as expressed by the irrefutable constitutional rights to speak and rights to privacy.
No Ron Paul Believes that so long as you are not hurting anyone else you should be allowed to live life how you want. For example if you want to smoke that is your choice and you should be free to do so.
tyranny took over this country a looong time ago while we were sleeping... time to wake up! I'm an "ex-smoker" though i do rarely light up. i don't want the government trying to control that rare pleasure...
Oh but wait Mr. Paul, does everybody know that this "prohibition" bill is CO-SPONSORED BY Philip Morris and thus affectionately known amongst the corrupt D.C circles as "The Marlboro Man bill".
This bill claims to ban flavored tobacco for example. Well did anyone know that it bans ALL flavored tobacco EXCEPT menthol which is the MOST used and most addictive!!!
Why? B/c Philip Morris manufactures menthols and this will artificially eliminate a LOT of competition for them!! Govt authored monopo
i'm not a smoker and don't like tobacco personally, but this is an outrage. Anytime government seizes more of our liberties they become more and more facist. We need to get rid of our current politicians (with the exception of Dr. Paul of course), and start over with ones that actually obey and honor the CONSTITUTION!
i guess ron paul loves cancer! huh

LOL, I bet the drug cartels in mexico are cheering for this bill.
They would love to be a Tobacco black market dealer for the US also...
That would surely make them richer and more powerful then the Prohibition with Al Capone.

And I suppose blowing the cancerous smoke from your cigarette my direction and down my throat is "your free choice" too...hmm.

Ban cigarettes I'm looking forward to being an illegal cigarette dealer.
Illegal tobacco will open up a big illegal market.

Well, don't fight it adapt, and make the lawmakers look like idiots when smoking becomes "cool" and "rebellious".
Do you know how appealing we will make tobacco?

The government is sleeping on our couches. I don't like criminals sleeping on my couch ( as innocent as they might think they are ). It makes me sad.
Let's continue helping each other remove these unwelcome guests from the homes of our families, friends, and communities.
