  • Love this song:D

  • i love this song, but this is a cover :) so in the description 'song covered by...."

  • uwielbiam... :)

  • what is this kinda music called? (genre)

  • this song makes me think

  • i love this song.placeebo sang it with his heart and best revival better than the original

but,,,if your suffering fr depression Pls don't listen to this song ...

  • The original is a classic, but this one is the best renovation ever!

  • i get a diffrent fealing from this version.its good.i cant hate.tho i tried not to like it.

  • youtube.com/watch?v=Usg_Lh0UyMc

  • nice

  • really like this song

  • Let's not forget, that IS Kate Bush doing Backing Vocals...

    She was always a genius!

  • Way to go Placebo for taking an already Good 80's Song and making it twice as awesome and 20% Cooler /)^3^(\

  • His voice is so relaxing. :)

  • great cover although the version of Kate Bush is also good. It reminds me the darkness and depth of "Wrong" - Depeche Mode

  • I remember listening to this song during the summer because history channel used it.... but I'm still listening to it 5 months later

  • Amazing song re done ...Kate really does get my credit tho...She was the creator.

You are the re creators of a cool tune and well done. Love the slant.

    Rezzillo

  • best song to kill yourself, or to put in a dramatic scene in movie..:)

  • It's not a Kate Bush "version". It's her song!

  • The whole Jinks death scene mixed with this song was fantastic and emotional. I actually had goosebumps. Claudia's cry was so primal.

I dont think this is the last of Jinks.

    Jinks lives....

  • Heres why placebo > kate bush

Placebo sings slowly and clearly letting us actually FEEL the music.

kate bush sings too fast and I can barely listen the singing.

Placebo made the music actually match the voice volume.

kate bush has low voice volume and even lower music volume.

Placebo have put FEELINGS in his voice.

kate bush didn't put any feeling in her voice.

Overall placebo is away better than kate bush.

  • @mrsoldierman2 Have u said that she put any feeling in her voice?Did you hear her singining?Or you're judging her because you heard only Running Up That Hill.Weak reasons to say that Placebo is better than Kate Bush, i'm not an alienated fan, but sayin "bush has low voice volume and even lower music volume, kate bush didn't put any feeling in her voice."It's totally bullshit. I'm not sayin that she is better than placebo or vice-versa, but you put a lot of bullshit arguments.Know it to judge it

  • R.I.P. Steve Jinks :/

  • thumbs up if warehouse 13 brought you here R.I.P Steve Jinks

  • Kate's version was also good.=)

    I like both of them.

  • 39 test subjects clearly didn't feel the placebo effect..

  • R.I.P Steve Jinks! You Will Be Missed.

  • R.I.P Steve Jinks

  • Warehouse 13...

  • Warehouse 13 :D

  • @dhfhrfbvtjkh ME TOO.

  • we are entitled to our opinions that this version is better than Kate Bush's version, just as those who say Kate Bush's version was better are entitled to their opinion. But somehow we've gotten this idea that we need to force our opinions on everyone else. Think your quiet thoughts for they wont matter in a hundred years when we're gone and people of the future will form their own opinion on this song either with or against your opinion.

  • Wow what a lovely group of morons commenting on this video. If you are one of those people saying that this is better than the kate bush version than you should not be listening to music. And I advise kindly deleting your music collection and getting a day job pretending to be deep and intelligent...

  • "...Please go back to the car " :'(

  • I dunno if it's better than the original, Kate Bush is seriously amazing, but it's a wonderful cover version without a doubt.

  • @leeisnumber1 and company. Have you tried Kate Bush - Running Up That Hill (Datassette Remix), guys? Keeps the spirit of the original. And Kate Bush did not sheet in her pants while singing.

  • Shawn Micheals brought me here.

  • @lannysizzle13 Hell yeah, that video package will forever lol. I still remembered it, checked it out again, and figured I'd look up the song.

  • ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ஜ۩۞۩ஜ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

LIKE IF THIS IS A MILLION TIMES BETTER THAN KATE BUSH

    ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ஜ۩۞۩ஜ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

  • A Gizillion times better than Kate 'No' Bush's version

  • You should really learn that when you get older, your are no longer allowed to point your speakers out your window in vain hopes of passers-by realizing that your a deep person and not just old wrinkley poser. These are facts . . . .

  • It doesn't hurt me...

  • what a powerful song

  • @TheWarpig1 are u watching Gettysburgh? Im watchin it no matter what. That movie looks awesome. Combat schools good too. I enjoy that channel too

  • this song is beast

  • prefer the nostalgic 80s new wave instrumental in the original

  • I swear, why does everyone beg for thumbs up on youtube? Are people really the desperate for approval. My theory: Everyone begging for a thumbs up are between 13 and 20, with very low self esteem. If you are gonna beg for approval, why get it from random strangers on a website?

  • @lennonfn2010 You're theory has been dissaproved. ;p

  • @TheBubblealchemist OK. Perhaps you can explain it to me, then.

  • @lennonfn2010 You're theory, Everyone beggin for a thumbs upa re between 13-20 with very low self esteem." I've dissproved it, because I'm not in that range. And just lighten up, you don't have to be so harsh upon such a little idea. It's not like the world is a worse place because people want a thumbs up on their youtube comment. A thumbs up can also be an agreement, like "Hey, don't you agree with me! Thumbs up!" And then if there's thumbs down..then it's "Oh okay they don't agree."

  • Gettyysburg :)

  • @JEAirs0ft Same lol.

  • this song feels like a heartbeat.....I love it!!

  • HBK VS Undertaker WM 26

  • @leeisnumber1 Better than the CREATOR?

  • love the comments from Parzefail. Couldn't agree more

  • that was amazing parze

  • Wow. Folks chill out.

To the Kate Bush fans in their ivory tower: Placebo's cover is -VERY- good. Be glad people are being exposed to Kate's influence.

To the Placebo is better crowd: No matter what this is Kate's song. Acknowledge, understand and move on.

Arguing on YouTube, just like anywhere else on the Internet, is like running in the Special Olympics.

Even if you think you're winning, you're still retarded.

  • @Parzefail I'd never heard the Kate Bush version. I listened to it last night. I have to say Placebo's version is better. Still a great song, but this is a rare instance where the cover is better than the original.

  • @Parzefail Haha fuck you. Even if you're winning, you're still retarded. Oh shit, that was good.

  • The version of this song by Kate Bush is my most favourate song of all time, but i cant help but love the way placebo covered it, both versions, very good :D

  • I fell in love with this song. It's so god damn beautiful...

  • a ghost video brought me here!!! lol

  • tremendo, solo lo escuchaba en la introduccion del DVD

  • J'aime bien la fin. N'y voyez aucun commentaire désobligeant contre cette version =)

  • does anyone just get a thumbs up for saying anything these days? Just enjoy the music!

  • okay this Wikipedia crap is getting way out of hand. just shutup and listen to the music.

  • inferior to Kate Bush, unless of course you like a bunch of croaky singing effeminate "alternative" bands.

  • @Ayzahar Then why are you here?

  • Okay...Kate Bush wrote this...but i dont care the placebo better...

  • I´ve found the song by chance and for some reasons I prefer this version to the original one... It makes me sad and happy at the same time... I have had a kind of gender identity problem and it´s too hard to say it to anybody :( So, If I only could... Very nice song anyway... Thank you for sharing! :)

  • @MrChedder411 Why do some people think this is a "War" song? ...just because they used it in a commercial for a Gettysburg show?? Kate Bush would probably be extremely upset if she heard people interpretting her song that way. She herself, has always stated that this is a love song.

  • @kyropter

It's not a "Love Song". It's about how men and women are different and we can't fully understand each other, and how much better we'd understand each other if we could swap our roles in life, live in each others places for a time. Of course, that's not possible, since a man is a man, and a woman a woman. You'd have to make a deal with the devil to change like that. Then Kate thought, the idea of making a deal with God is far more interesting/powerful.

    Source: wiki this song title

  • @Akimb0 LOL! Your post is verbatim right off the Wikipedia article on this song. And we all know, if it's on Wikipedia, it MUST be true! ;-) If you would have gone one step further and clicked on the second footnote at the bottom of the Wiki page, it takes you to a transcript of severl interviews with Kate. In them she explains (in different ways) that this is a song about a man and a woman who are very much in love. My point is, it's not a song about war.

  • @kyropter

Yes, because if it's on wikipedia it MUST be false, right?

Also, yes, I could have put far more info in, but it's youtube, character limits ftl. Point remains, it's still not "love song". It's more than that, with a deeper look at the relationship between men and woman and how true understanding could only be reached if we could literally be a woman or a man for a time. I don't think it has to be limited to two people in love.

Still, at least we agree that it's -not- a war song :D

  • @Akimb0 Wikipedia, as right as it tries to be, is only a buffer zone in the internet. No instituion allows it's citation because of bias. Get a grip kid.

  • @Akimb0 Wikipedia, as right as it tries to be, is only a buffer zone in the internet. No institution allows it's citation because of bias. Get a grip kid.

  • @XxStuntxX Not taking sides, but wikipedia does have an average error per page rate that is lower than the Encyclopedia Britannica.

  • @DelightfulTyrant And the relevance is? EB is accepted by Educational Institutions, and Wiki is not... unless, they're poor institutions. Wiki is good to get a glimpse of a topic, not to be directly quoted.

  • @Akimb0 Kate Bush says it's a love song. I've heard her say that myself. She wrote the song. That's good enough for me.

  • @Akimb0_I Agree

  • I Like This.

  • the undertaker vs hbk promo

  • I better make like a Banana and Split.

  • Thumps up if you didn't hear this song on television first!

  • It doesn't matter why we are here, this song is just fucking great. Agreed?

  • I would think less Gettysburg and more Game of Thrones.

  • 150 years.

  • Gettysburg brought me here, the south will rise again!!!!

  • @kevhat10 If the south rises again The north will just hand the south fireworks and let them blow their own asses up. F*cking dumbass.

  • @mammy24 EXCUSE YOU!!!!!! Fuck you too!!!!!!!

AND WHAT THE HELL IS THE MATTER WHAT BROUGHT YOU HERE??

Yes, The Horny & Hairy Anal Loving Blondes pornfilm brought me here!!

so awesome how song starts just when skit gets sprayed on faces while all happens in slow-motion.

    how gives a damn...

  • 30 people can't run up that hill!

  • Its kinda sad that a song only gets popular overnight if it was in a commercial, show, movie, or video game. Still, great song.

  • @BuzzCola95 its not sad. They brought a great song back to life. What is sad is that songs disappear so quickly in the first place. I'm glad it's been revived. And you have to admit the commercial is amazing. Kudos to that marketing team

  • @lao81180 True, can't stop listening to it.

  • @BuzzCola95 :) Me either. When I first saw the commercial I was like OMG i know this song but couldn't place it, so I googled it and ended up here. I am so glad. I hate when I hear songs in random places that are forever lost so it was so refreshing to see this commercial. Such an amazing song and putting it to that commercial was moving. I almost wish I was the one that came up with the commercial.
