No. His singing is as big a part of the overall sound as his guitar playing (what a completely original slide guitarist he was). You are right though: the thought of him and Jimi bouncing ideas of each other on guitar playing, song writing... the mind boggles.

the more i think about it the more i think that the entire "crazy" thing was an became an act after he was labeled insane for his free thinking which was normal at the time, but his bandmates saw him before later stages of free thinking and thought he was crazy, he was an artsy person went along with it.. maybe he just realized how insignificant we were and how nothing mattered..
