Nasty to face-I suspect over time his figures may have dipped, as not technically as tight. But a great bowler, who doesnt get as much praise as the others. Often don't even here bout him
Interesting run-up he had. Running away from the stumps and then slanting it in almost from the return crease made things very awkward. I heard Geoff Boycott saying today, that whilst he wasn't the quickest bowler he faced, he was certainly the most awkward, and nastiest...
Interesting stats.. Colin Croft had the best stats of any of his peers (bowlers) in the years that he played test cricket. Holding, Garner & Roberts usually gets most of the accolades, but Crofty outperformed all of them when they played together. Look it up.
@darkmossie633 Huh, why do you say that ? He went on the the rebel tour to south africa (one of four world cup winners to do so), and got banned from international cricket.
i was checkin out videos of past wi bowlers.. i definitely think garner and roberts were really good. but this guy colin croft bowling looks not so great
saw him bowl at the WACA (Perth) in 1980.....got Greg Chappell out for a duck - vicious delivery he had to feed off his ribcage and caught at close leg.....awesome and scary!

One of the most terrifying bowlers of his time

@navneetsohanpal dont come on just to moan enjoy or dont watch
B04Jordan 3 months ago
@navneetsohanpal Nope. Back foot is within the legal area, front foot is at least partly behind the popping crease. Two legitimate balls.

He was one of the very select fast bowlers who could bowl outswingers from wide of the crease

great bowler-pity he is an obvious anti-white-anti-English racist

No-one would be allowed to bowl with that action these days. It's perfectly legal, just some idiot would coach it out of him
longbendy81 1 year ago
@longbendy81 Mike Holding has been saying this for a long time - overcoaching is majorly responsbile for the decline of fast bowling worldwide!

his figures of 8/29 are still the best Test innings figures by a fast bowler from the West Indies
islandwarrior16 2 years ago 6
He would've been the greatest west indian bowler of all-time if his career wern't so short....

@RICHTAYL Its the back leg which should be inside the line

@manimajra1 : Thank you. Am I right in thinking he has gone from scary fast bowler to pilot? Or he certainIy flew aircraft for a time.
RICHTAYL 1 year ago
@RICHTAYL Thats true.. According to Boycott, we was the scariest, if not skillful, of all
manimajra1 1 year ago
@RICHTAYL Colin croft was a Demerara air traffic controller...dont think he was a pilot .

gee, he does get wide on the crease!!

shouldn't that first ball be a no ball cause his foot landed outside the return crease?
Sanath340 2 years ago
No, I believe its only when the back-foot lands beyond the return crease.
ShivIsGreat 2 years ago
watching the ashes the other night marcus north bowled one and got no balled because his back foot touched the line.
Sanath340 2 years ago
Hmmmm....I guess the umpire missed Croft's foot then....But it was always called a "back-foot no-ball"....
ShivIsGreat 2 years ago
@Sanath340 just the back foot must be inside the return crease
