It sounds muddled but Damian's got a point surely. If you're convinced a place is haunted you interpret every last noise as proof (not as expanding timbers, owls etc).
Even David Wells says something similar (well a bit different view of course), that Stuart wants things to happen to him, so they happen to him.
what's that at 1.02? when yvette turns the camera back to david? it's not there on the way back....
