  • Thank you SO much I WILL practice I've been trying FOREVER to get this chord because they play this chord a lot!! After I'm done with this chord I'll go to the F chord cause thats another tough one THANK YOU!!!

  • Just subscribe to your videos , even my hands bleeding i want to play guitar!

  • If I close my eyes and listen to him he sounds like the guy greg (i think or the one with the yellow shirt) from wiggles (I used to watch it when I was younger) and just you are a good musician

  • thank you justin, I really appreciate your efforts for us all

  • I thought C comes first in "C..D..E..F..G.." so I started learning with a C Chord. Bad start.

  • For me C chord is the easiest of all.

  • my pointer touches the Estring if a angle my fingers to my eyes :x

  • whaaaat ? a week or two? a month?? Maybe i have a severe finger problems because i have months trying this chord and im still sucks!! someone kill me please! Well, sorry for the drama, you are a good teacher and ill keep watching your videos.

  • Yup, bloody fingers. And a retarded sound ..

  • when one sounds good, the next sounds so awful...

  • Great video. I can finger the C chord really easily but am having lots of trouble changing chords when C is involved. Any tips would be much appreciated, please like so people can see my comment and help me! Thanks!!!

  • This one is much nicer than G

  • Uhhhh WTF so Cmajor is the same as Aminor???? the only difference is you switch finger 2 and 3 around but it sounds exactly the same.

  • I'm just learning guitar. My fingers have got to be the smallest ever for an adult man.

What I do is this..... I play E, C and G. Yes, I said G. Its so much easier and its harmonically

acceptable. That G is the 3rd fret, 1st string. Just try it, you just might love it!. And, tell your guitar instructor about this and see what he/she says.

You can find all these " chord alternatives" in most all guitar chord books. So, these "guitar alternatives" are just "substitues",.......

  • Can someone tell me , ok I know what to do with the left hand , but what should I do with right ? I'm right-handed

Should I just go very quickly through all the strings or just those three ?

    Please help ! :)

    thanks very much :)

  • My fingers have dents in them.

  • Great Video! I need you as my teacher!

  • c chord was my first learnt chord.

  • Comment removed

  • I just got a guitar for my birthday and this is the first lesson of yours that I've watched. You explained everything clearly and your little tip helped me to be able to hold my fingers in a way that's not too uncomfortable. I've subscribed and I'm excited to learn more!

  • god did not desing man to play the c chord

  • thanks. this is great. it isn't so much the stretching of the fingers that gets me its the actual pressing of the strings. i literally only just started trying to play the guitar and pressing the strings hurts like hell.

  • tnx justin

  • hurts my wrist

  • damn i hate this chord, i mean its easy but i takes a shitload of time for me to shape it :( i hate it almost as much as F -.-

  • This was the first chord I learned :b

  • Thank you very much I was a lot of problems with C but u help me a lot Thank You!

  • Hi justin i want to know which is harder to play guitar or bass

    Nice VDO :)

ps.i am 11 yearolds and i just love rocking

  • Thanks for putting this series together. As a guy who has struggled with guitar chords for a long time, I think its great that you take the time to share your knowledge with everyone else. Thumbs up!!!!!

  • thank you ... i hav completed my task of trying to play it :D:D:D:D:D:D

  • When you told me to make my fingers go at an angle... It solved all my chord problems.

  • only you teach C chord many talk!!!

  • Should I thumb mute the top string when I'm trying to play C?

  • DUDE EVEN IF HE LOOKS YOUNG, HE'S FRIKKEN SOLID..... KEEP UP THE GREAT JOB JUSTIN.. AND YES RESPECT THE FACT THAT EVEN HIS YOUNG LOOKS, HE'S DOING YOU AND EVERYONE ELSE A FAVOR BY NOT CHARGING AND SHARING HIS KNOWLEDGE OF PLAYING GUITAR!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Students? you look like your 17!

  • I'm spamming the subscribe button! You're a great teacher!

  • Thanks, man! Now I can play it :D

  • Holy smokes! That C is a little tough lol

  • HOOAH. english accent. :D

  • OMG I GOT IT. I had JUST commented on another video demonstrating the C chord that I didn't think I could ever do it. Thanks!!!!!

  • your cute

  • I was so happy about how surprisingly easy this one is for me until Justin said that low E has to be muted. Rained on my parade :(

But that just makes my learning curve for it 5 minutes longer :D

    Thanks from Latvia to Justin!

  • 1:59 just 4 fun

  • i found it easier to use pinkie instead of 3rd finger

  • damn it, my middle finger keeps messing with the 3rd string >:(

  • I will get this i might have bloody fingers but i will get this

  • @kimidestony lower the action by tighening the truss rod to the point where a quarter barely fits between the low E string and 12th fret, it will be easier to play and sound better.

  • @kimidestony same lol, ive been playing for like 3 hours, cutting my fingers. But im hardcore like that. rofl. JK

  • and now i have to watch it all over again.........lol i got distracted by 'that' accent *sigh* and totally forgot to pay attention :o if Justin was my personal teacher, i'd be playing like Jimi Hendrix!!......ok, back to C >:( gl ev1

  • i have short fingers can reach the 5th string my index finger hahaha!thumbs up to guys who can't do it too!

  • I can't place my third finger on the third fret correctly is there somehting wrong with my fingers?

  • What's the reason for muting the low E string? I have small hands and skinny thin fingers if it makes any difference.

  • A GREAT HINT is to place your ring finger first, then your middle finger and last your index finger. It's a great hint because whole your hand is almost in position to play the chord when starting with your ring finger. It reduces the time, learning this chord :)

  • This one isn't easy at all.....

  • This is really hard for me. I get a cramp in my pointer finger and my ring finger doesn't stretch far enough to press down hard enough to make the string ring. I will persevere though...

  • this is really had for me lol

  • "But If you persevere, you'll find that the C chord is pretty damn easy" hahaha

  • when you open your mouth I just wanna rip your clothes off. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK SEXY! :)

  • eva eva eva :P

  • COMMERCIALS PISS ME OFF

  • 4 people cant play a c chord.

  • @LuLyouMaD actually.... there are 6

  • @LuLyouMaD 7 acctualy

  • @LuLyouMaD and 470 people are too stubbon to admit how long it took them

  • @LuLyouMaD no shit, if they could, why would they be here..

  • i love it how this guy made around 32094802740-29-42373282374 vids and he's still smiling :)

and of course, how could i forget: LOVE YOUR LESSONS!

  • Fantasitc

  • your lessons are very useful.thank you!!!

  • idk but on my guitar its hard 2 mute the e can i just strum the 5lower string instead of muting it?

  • is it really that hard? maybe i'm playing it wrong because it seems okay to play?

  • that always happens I always mute the strings right next to them! GOD!! and it hurts my arm. and yes I point my fingers at the ceiling. and today I just broke another guitar string. Okay I give up. Piano was my main instrument fuck guitar

  • I'm finding this chord even harder than the G chord!

  • i got it first time i have long fingers anyways thanks for the lesson really helped :)

  • My ring finger keeps hitting the 4th string too :c

  • ; ^ ; so hard so hard :'(

  • Omg, I've just got a guitar yesterday and I'm completely new to it, and I've been playing so much that my fingers hurt like hell now.. I can't touch anything,

  • @RangerGedisHD its natural!

  • damn, ive been playing C with the 1st finger on the 1st string. read the chord wrong. gonna fix that now

  • is there another way of playing C it looks alot like the G i just saw that online

can you play it like that is it the same?

  • I don't mean to brag, but I got that one down in less than a minute, and i'm only learning.

  • Goodbye long nails...

  • @XxXStormyRainXxX haha same here :/

  • unbelievable how impossible this chord seems at first. A few days and its come.

  • No fair!!!! Your fingers are longer than mine!!!

  • I can't believe I just discovered this channel!

  • You're so helpful. Great job Justin!

  • Thank you man! You are very helpful! :)

  • You do such a good job at teaching!! thanks so much. Others go through it so fast!!

  • typical string instrument fingers. Slim and long

  • thnx

  • great vid

  • My main problem with the C chord is that I can't cut the nail on my first finger short enough. If I come straight down the the second string my nail hits the fret board but the string isn't depressed.

  • @GreatDarkKnight I have the same problem with my middle finger. I keep trying but the same thing happens all the time. I can't figure out how to do it

  • It's easy.

  • google search for the guitar manual blog and see first results for beginning lessons

  • out of all the basic chords i found c pretty easy... yay me :D

  • im muting strings like a mofo

  • @mockingbird83 word, have u ever muted a string while boophin' it all in the same motion??

  • @MrGeltabs funny thing is - a day or so after that comment, i woke up and i could just do the c chord easily. I was pretty baffled.

I think there's a physiological element to guitar playing which is pretty understated. I think there is muscle/ligament/tendon development that constitutes, i think, as much as 50% of your guitar playing ability. These things only come with time.

  • @mockingbird83 I couldn't agree more, I feel like I get some after affects also tho.... Kinda like a hangover the next day esp if im playing all nite or for a few hrs

  • your the shizzle, my gf thinks your hot but its ok jajajaja you can have her i am paying more attention to my music anywho!

  • WOW YOU'RE AWESOME THANKYOU SO MUCH!

  • u da man

  • great guide.you never rush anything and really help out all the beginners, especially me.

  • great lesson i picked this up first time from you

  • Hey there,

This chord is really hard for me because my first finger always mutes the string behind it, I haven't worked out a way to hold it so it doesn't. Any tips?

  • the turning of your hand to an angle helped me out so much

  • thnnx

  • thaanks sirr.. !!

  • it is my first day to play guitar! and my finger hurt so much...I cant even type a letter....lol

  • 4 people dont know what a c chord is

  • justin's sooo sexy :-)

  • Hey man...ur lesson hav helped me very much.....thanx...pls post lessons on the chords...like Dsus4, F#m, etc...

  • @joelpaul141 Lol I actually found a page on all the chords!! just look up "how to read guitar tabs" on Google Images and there should be a picture on the top right hand corner of page 2 with "Guitar Course:" written underneath it. It has every single concieveable chord, including the ever-so-powerful Am7sus4

  • finally a good tutorial :)

  • Oh my! I've been struggling a week with that chord and it was really hurting. Thank you so much. The tip of letting your fingers go at a angle really made practicing more comfortable! Had it down within five minutes or less! Thank you so very much.

  • Awesome, I was struggling with the C chord. I cant believe my paid teacher could not help me like that!!!

  • your tutorial is great.

  • After 20 yrs. of not playing the guitar I have picked it up again, new strings etc. ect. I counldn't believe how difficult it is for me to play C chord. I thought perhaps because I'm a small person (5' tall and my hands are from wrist to point of longest finger 6 3/4") and the guitar feels bulky. I was thiking about getting a guitar with a narrower neck, but now looking at your wonderful explanation I will try your way and hopefuly will be able to play it. Thank you.

  • awesome hottie!!! I could listen to that accent for hours, I wish he was my guitart teacher haha

  • My fingers f*cking HURT!!! I hate this chord (first week with my guitar ;-)

  • I was surprised with the C chord, was easier than I thought. Nice chord to. The Cm chord... ouch. Although the C7 (if I'm correct here), that's just incorporating your little finger. Working on that one.

  • is it just me or is this one quite easy learned it in a few hours

    great vid:D

  • i dont get it

  • learning chord guitar^^

  • Ive struggeled for days to get this chord! 2:30 out in your vid i get it!!!! YOU ARE AWESOME!

  • Maybe I just didn't jump to the correct place in the video, I was tuning my guitar to the key of C and was hoping you'd play the chord. I didn't have my synth around to hear a C. I couldn't find anywhere in the video that you actually play the chord.

  • At first it was difficult of course, but now C is like my favourite chord (though that's a bad thing to have in terms of song-composition, haha)

I kind of like the hand-shape of it - once you got the hang of it, it's a comfy position - much more than G, let alone F :)

Justin's explanation really helped, so thanks Justin :)

  • I DID IT!!!!

  • for different chords from a song,do i strum when playing the song or pick the strings one by one or depend on the song?

  • is there an easier way to play the "C" cord? like one where you dont have to push on the 5th string?....i was just wondering because this is my first week palying guitar and i cant stretch my fingers the far

  • Thanks Justin! You are amazing :)

  • tilting my fingers helped alot. though i'm still terrible at it XD

  • i dont get it

  • try playing the E G C D sequence. sounds good.

  • Brilliant video! Just finished a 6wk beginners guitar course and still didn't have the hang of playing C, always sounded terrible. Great tips in your video, I actually got a proper C chord! Now just need to keep practising it :) Thanks a lot :)

  • What the fuck i watch a other video saying to use 4 fingers im confused but this helped me thanks

  • stop talking stop talking stop talking
