  • This song is the biggest rip off ever - Montrose (1973) Space Station # 5. Unreal.

  • @sexpistolsdaz The riff is quite similar, but I don't think it was intended...and btw the vocals are titally different.

  • @Mototrebbia666 Jake Burns even said he nicked this riff himself in an interview I read in the SLF book Kicking Up A Racket. So boo sucks to you. Titally you wrote oh my what would Freud say dear me.

  • @sexpistolsdaz Freud would say that I mispelled it because I did not wear my contact lenses this morning, that's what he'd say. As for the similarities, you may found out that we are both right as I was talking about the riff.

  • on the way back home from work the other day i had to take a different route because of a suss, suss ,suss, suss, suss, suss suss-pect device. Northern Ireland is a joke.....

  • do i spy the undertones ?

  • THUG!

  • saw them live at corn exchange cambridge, my dad said did you have a good seat.

    proper straight from work band

  • proper working class music as opposed to the poser, middle class, rebellious shit you hear today

  • ............................FUCKING GET IN!

  • Does it REALLY MATTER.....whether its was the Ramones, or NYD's, or the Pistols that contributed more to the beginnings of Punk rock. I'm 48 now and was there when it all happened. I still have the '45 of this song on the original Rigit Digits label, and still to this day travel the UK to see this band. Unique, original, ...and simply the best....HANX!!!

  • @monocromeman was it not the dammed that start it

  • who gives a shit how a punk looks you decide for yourself if you're punk

  • is it the original song ? i mean . i know this song , but i guess they are only covers...

  • Brilliant! Thanks for sharing!

  • slf irish.bang ha.

  • Green Day listened to this band growing up

  • Don't believe them

    Don't believe them

    Don't be bitten twice

You gotta suss, suss, suss, suss, suss out

    Suss suspect device

  • Of all the bands I ever watched live, SLF kicked the rest off the planet, with ease. Saw them twice at Cardiff Top Rank. I would have gone every night. So close to their studio sound, which let's face it, was so alive and electric in its own right. Great songs, great band.

  • SUS SUS SUS SUSSUSSUSPECT DEVICE!!

  • i was born 1978,that's my music,that's my youth,that's my riot

  • Awesome! No need to say more..

  • talented little fucker...

  • Whos the cunt who took down the studio version of this song?

  • @TheCryptViolator this is just as good lol

  • this stuff will never age-my 10 year old son[named "jake" loves them][slf]pompey.

  • Went to a Stiff Little Fingers concert in the Ulster Hall one night, and got kicked in the face!! It was brilliant!!! Ended up with a fat lip, but heh !! had a grat night!! :)

    Its time the bastards fell..

  • best band ever, lads of today dont know what they have missed,my 10 year old is named after jake

seen them many times over the years,no band can compete with them ,[slf-pompey].

  • I went to see these to many times to count in my younger days. Still brilliant.

  • Stranglers sticker on the guitar - interesting.

  • @almklit How?

  • @slepper98 Must have been a fan I did'nt know that.

  • @almklit No problem. Pretty hard not to like the stranglers.I remember a lot of punks thought they were too old. Maybe, the music was good.

    regards.

  • I am sooooooo pissed off I wasn't around in the 70's. I'm 16 now and the music now is fuckin awful and no way compares to this.

  • @happysaddo007 ...and now mention the political climate, corporate greed etc...now grab yourself a guitar my friend, a few mates, don't give a shit if you cannot play, just get up and make some noise. MOST punk bands like the banhees etc had no idea how to play and that is what started it all. YOU can be the next guy who continues the movement, ever thought about that?

  • @happysaddo007 go listen to trash talk, fucked up, cerebral ballzy, black lips, jay reatard, the wavves. There's a lot of good music out there. You can either bitch about it, or actually go listen to something new

  • @happysaddo007 amen

  • @AllUsRasta yes its the original slf... very early

  • If you like this song. For gods sake MAKE A BAND we neeed you!!

Saw them in Brisbane as a support band at one of the 4zzz gigs they were a support band!!! Can't believe how awesome the punk days were. The alternative radio station in our sleepy town could afford to brings bands out from the UK. like madness, specials, the fall, the cure (twice) etc. Now everyone is asleep again.

  • Although we have an Alternative Ulster, sadly this song is still relevant 33 years on with the murder of Ronan Kerr by one side and the sending of letter bombs to Neil Lennon by the other side.

  • Saw them at Cardiff Topo Rank, it was packed with fans. Best live band I have ever seen, by far!

  • the best punk song ever recorded. Hope them Irish dudes sort their problems out. Cause I kinda get the feeling that them times are passed and folks want to get on with their lives and the only folks doing them bomb things are the folks that want to keep their drug lines open.(and other criminal stuff) Love the SLF

  • Still no 1!

  • I saw them in Erics, Liverpool in 1978

  • The flashing traffic lights = for amphetamines.

  • The flashing traffic lights = for amphetamines.

  • the flashing traffic lights are there for being high on amphetamines.

  • The song is great, but man those people dress like total pot-heads

  • @LordWellington15 smoke more weed, studmuffin. Maybe you'll be less of a moron.

  • @welcome2myhell I see you have already smoked some, so no thanks

  • @LordWellington15 Retard

  • @MinimoviesInc Thank you

  • Best Punk song ever made

  • Whats with all these gay/fags comments. If you were there at the time you would know that this is what the original punks looked like. It was a year or two before the leather jacket and jeans look of the Ramones or Sid Vicious caught on proper.

  • @lazygazzzer

The Ramones look was from 50's greasers. There are also black leather jackets and safety pins shown in the video.

  • @lazygazzzer True punks NEVER wore a uniform which is what this is and if you looked like that then you wore a uniform too. That's what pissed the pistols off because all you so called punks tried to look the same instead of being individuals which is what punk was about. Not following like sheep and looking like ANYONE else. And yes I WAS there first time round. Sounds like you weren't though by the way you write things.

  • @OrpheusIsThe1 Hahaha well you are funny. I wouldn't like to say what the Sex Pistols think - I don't really hang out with them. My brother got talking to Paul Cook one time though, and he reckons he wasn't particularly bothered about anything - except maybe getting a free drink.

  • @lazygazzzer Yea that's cz at the end of the day the pistols were never really punks Johnny Rotten has admitted as much since and also admits to liking Genesis back then as well as Hawkwing who just happened to be a hippy band. He actually stated that if it weren't for the track Brainstorm by Hawkwind there would never have been a Sex Pistols. Remember his old addage Never trust a hippy He used to hang with hippys b4 the pistol days. Funny how things go full circle glad to have given you a laugh

  • @OrpheusIsThe1

Exactly! Punk shouldn't have a uniform! fuck ive played gigs wearing tutus...wear what you want! and fuck the man.

Punk uniform now is nothing more then fancy dress now and kids who have no idea.

  • @OrpheusIsThe1

Punk uniform now is nothing more then fancy dress now and kids who have no idea.

  • @zenzeypher the Punks never had a uniform, Punk was not even a music, it was a movement based on political and social issues ant he time and the shite BBC funded music that was flooding the airwaves at the time. As for clothes most punks wore drainpipe jeans (skinny pants/jeans as they are now called but oddly a man wearing those now is deemed gay for some strange reason) and anything else was a personal choice. The punk movement was about seeking change, it needs to come back...fast

  • Im sorry am i getting this right that punk is those who want to do there own thing but arnt you people going against punk by telling others how they should be and how punk is?

  • Great footage of original, REAL Punks.

  • great song but the crowd seems unusually calm for a punk show in the 70s

  • Punks in flares! Brilliant clip...

  • Dodgy sound, miniscule stage, raw energy, 2 minute 4 chord songs, nothing manufactured, proper punk 1978 style. Brilliant!!

  • @daithihugs -Amen brother!

  • Ratos De Porao do a cool version of this song...

  • Great punk band. Like the song despite the poor sound quality

  • one of the best debut punk albums - track after brilliant track - crowd in the videos a bit subdued though - maybe the cameras got to them.

  • one of the best debut punk albums - track after brilliant track

  • sus sus sus sus sus sus sus suspect device

  • this is wonderful.

  • At 0:20 thats a... nifty outfit for a punk concert.

  • A lot of fags in the crowd

  • Look at the drummer! That`s how to beat the hi-hat! Punk`s the best and fuck you rest!

  • C ya at the barras

  • HANX! Brittien Ratsia, haha!

  • Hairs on my neck still stand up when I hear the intro.

Roll on next St Patricks day when they play the Barras Glasgow

  • Great fucking band.

  • That was just fucking great-no bullshit and makes me wish the world of music had the heart and soul of that time. Jake Burns looks 18 in this clip. Hanx for it eh.

  • Wow why arent punks look like that these days, I would be gay too.

  • @FishingBrisbane this is what punks looked like, they wore what the fuck they wanted.

  • this song is better than crack and sex at the same time and that's hard to do

  • The original drummer had to leave the band after death threats from the 'Boys' (IRA) so the tale goes in Ireland, his brother had something to do with said 'Boys' apparently.

  • hanx 4 it all lads slf 4 fr

  • Don't believe them

    Don't believe them

    Don't be bitten twice.

  • Why is Green Day even mentioned under this video? Fucking idiots...

  • @naoise1 if you watch the movie, HIGH FIDELITY you'll get why they mentioned green day.

  • @naoise1 grenday is pop

  • @naoise1

    Fucking American Idiots! ;)

  • @WoodRatGirl

Fucking septic idiots. (Rhyming slang; septic tank = yank !)

  • @roddy76to86

    LOL :P

  • @naoise1 because green day's most notable influence is the stiff little fingers. also see the movie high fidelity where this is addressed.

  • @tscarable Fuck you and your movie.

  • @naoise1 why do you fucking care? Awww, don't you wish you were a success like Green Day lmao

  • @welcome2myhell

Why do I care? Maybe because anytime a legendary Punk Rock band is mentions, those shitty money hungry pop sell-outs get brought up.

You're probably American anyway, Americans don 't get Punk Rock.

  • @naoise1 Americans don't get punk rock? Fuck you, don't fucking generalize us. You sound like a cliché spitting asshole.

  • @NagramAndrew

    AMERICANS DON'T GET PUNK ROCK.

  • @naoise1 -- Really? I'm pretty sure every first generation UK punk band pretty much masturbated while listening to the first Ramones album. Furthermore, why was Steve Jones so hell bent on aping Johnny Thunders down to trying to copy the same stupid facial expressions?

  • @naoise1 -- Really? I'm pretty sure every first generation UK punk band pretty much masturbated while listening to the first Ramones album. Furthermore, why was Steve Jones so hell bent on aping Johnny Thunders down to trying to copy the same stupid facial expressions?

  • @dcpride76 It may come as a shock to you but I never knew ANY punk who had a Ramones album and I was very into the Manchester punk scene that was buzzin'. I am sure one or two were influenced in some way but in the UK it is generally accepted that Iggy Pop was the granfather of punk. Personally the UK had things going on down in London with Marco Pirroni, Siouxsie, Sid Vicious, Joe Strummer and up north Pete Shelley, Devoto, Steve Diggle etc but it was Blondie Denis that opened up my eyes

  • @naoise1 haha americans actually started punk rock...what such a fucking cunt

  • @Kallicles i would argue about that, it is in recorded history that the Damned were the first ever formed punk band. The USA's New York Dolls, Patti Smith, Iggy Pop gave some loose inspiration to what was to later emerge in the UK, the Ramones also had some influence but Punk was NOT a musical genre, never was meant to be...it was a movement. The USA never really kicked out anything during the Punk years except Devo, the Dickies, Blondie and Talking Heads

  • @Kallicles Apologies the Damned were the first UK punk band to release a single, New Rose but the Sex Pistols were the first to play a gig in Nov 75. The Ramones were more glam rock, I guess their image influenced punks not their music, but the New York Dolls however I would say influenced the music. But once the punk scene got under way the USA did not contribute very much at all in comparsion, Chrissie Hynde even moved to London to get into the scene and was one of the first punks in London

  • @naoise1 Why don't you go suck Prince Harry's nazi cock, you divisive little shit.

  • @MrNewembassy

    I'm Irish, dipshit.

  • @naoise1 u dont know what your talking about so plz shut up

  • @somepunxguy Great response...

  • Fuck Green Day, the biggest Rock sell outs since Met-licka

  • @Colton5 you forgot about Rage Against The Machine
