I disagree with the music haters; I love the heck out of this game including the OST but I enjoyed the remix. If you want to hear the original music watch someone else's video, or download the OST, or just play the game.

this game is legendary, and in my opinion it did have decent graphics and epic music, gameplay was the best out there at this time. and i loved the concept of flying INSIDE a creature.

best part of this game is the music and that it had Co-Op mode. Me and my brother used to tear up this game as kids and tag team on speed runs

Think of it like the Star wars series with shadows of the empire or something like that. Theres also Nemesis in the series as well.

Well, its something like this:

Salammander was a spin off of Gradius. It had similarities, but it lacked Gradius' signature power-up system. Having something more traditional to shmups. It was however 2 player co-op (something Gradius lacked.)

When Salammander came to the U.S. It was called Life-Force and was given the power up menu we know and love.

Salammander then made a trip back across the ocean as a reissue, complete with power up bar.

co-op didn't come back until Gradius 5 =)
