  • For most street driven cars "aerodynamic" don't mean crap. That is more of a sales pitch for morons. Aerodynamics aren't a factor unless you drive 100MPH all day. The 1959 Chevy was supposed to be aerodynamic?

    Yeah, right.

  • Your electric car is great; the only thing i don't like about it is that it has no aerodynamic shape. i'm sure it would help alot in getting better times maybe half a second (air drag grows exponentially with speed ). I hope i made myself clear . Cheers

  • it doesn't matter who wins or doesn't with that hp what kind o gen can they run maybe a 40mw imagine powering every town on pure electric , come on guys globl warming is a fact we need to act now , in my opinion this vehicle is the prem man all we need to do know is delete all the batteries and run of some sort of gen to deliver the power if it can be done.

  • yes you are incorrect...the white zombie is the fastest electric car out there...10 second electric car. check my video.

  • looked like the camaro won that race to me am I wrong? 11.17 sounded like what he said at the end for the other car as well as the fact this video never showed the win light or the results of the other cars time, I think just a bit less bias and a little more honesty and this would have been a better video, its not bad that you were beat hell you kept up, but hiding the results of the other car even slightly is a bit dishonest.

  • Dishonest? It doesn't say "electric car wins" it says

electric car drag race. This run was a world record

run for the street legal electric car. It didn't matter if

we won or lost, our race was against the clock. Of course it would of been a little better if we would have

beat him to the end of the track too.

  • @Tbrehm05 how much hp and do the batteries weigh?? also it was very impressive.

  • and who says electric is slow

  • and then, the races were... queiet!

    that'd be weird!

GO!!! ... are they gone yet? oh right! they finished already! xD

    still, a great car!

  • Tim,

I am organizing an EV drag race out here on the East Coast. I can't wait to actually be able to challenge your White Zombie Times!!! Not yet anyway....but soon....

  • ELECTRIC CAR ROCKS !!!!!!!!!! THE CHALANGE WILL BE,,,, :D will electric cars pop some noise like petrol cars from the exaust ?:P

cause i want a car to BLOW MY EARS OFF !!!! VRUUUUUUUMMMMM

  • @Angelno6

Thats easy just fake the engine sound and you will have a powerfull clean and noisy electric car. :)

  • beats the crap out of any Detroit muscle car !

  • you have to be kidding 0_o

    ... can i build one like that ? :D

  • im in love..

  • Awesome conversion! If I had the money I wouldn't hesitate for one minute but build an electric performance vehicle.

  • me to ! EV RULES !!!

  • Meto. One day I want to own a EV. For now i'm just settling with building my own electric RC car from scratch and messing with some other electrical stuff to get my head around the basics before the time in the far future when i can afford to build or buy a EV.

  • these are your video's? cool you saw the white zombie? in person???

  • Yeah, I am the one driving it.

  • no way....so your that "tim brehm" guy? nice, how's it like to accelerate in that thing? i wanna do my own conversion, obviously its not gonna touch the white zombie, but i just want it to turn heads. how much do you think i'm going to be spending just on conversion materials alone?

  • Plasmaboy's a motivated individual who injects a sense of humor with levelheaded solid reasoning behind electric vehicles. If there was ever a secretary of transportation/ambassador to EV technology, he's the man. The transportation boom with EV's in the spotlight can rekindle the nation's economy just as effective as the communication/PC boom did in the 1990's.

  • the engine sounds r powered by a toy rc engine and an amplifier !

  • As soon as the pedal is pressed, maximum torque! impressive

  • The guy with e car put a lot of time into it but he's not a engineer with a massive budget. Imagine if major auto manufacturers took e cars more seriously. Its really all due to petrol dollars and the US economy look up petrol dollars, the biggest secret.

  • I Fully agree about the petrol dollars...

But! If that guy HAD a Massive budget, he may have had comparable performance to a Tesla roadster! :D Or he would race with one =)

In that case, it would be a nice sight!

-That electric car was, by those means well built!

  • Wrong, idiot, it is a FULL electric car. Go to plasmaboyracing(dot)com.

  • White Zombie (the electric car) rocks, bear in mind it is built by a hobbyist and is running lead acid batteries! Currently (no pun intended) it is running high 11s I think.. there is not much on the road that can get near it.... this is the best publicity for electric!

  • Lead acid!? With Li-pos it would beat anything!

Do you know if that motor is brushless or brushed? If it was brushed it performed extremely good!

  • Agreed, all across your comment

  • It's improper to say brushed motor without elaborating a bit more. What you are looking for is what TYPE of brushed DC motor. In this case the White Zombie is using a series-wound DC motor rather than those crappy permanent magnet brushed motors. Series-wound motors are the gods of torque.

  • ok!

what does series wound differ compared to the permanent magnet type?

Do you know how they are both built?

it would be interesting to know,

  • sent you a message about the motors characteristics.

  • Thanks a lot!! =D

  • EETechs could you post me that same message i'd be interested in seeing it.

  • Electric powered cars can smoke an Enzo and still "save the earth". There really isn't an argument anymore fellas : internal combustion cars suck.

  • last time i saw that cr it was running 12.7s good job!

  • Children of the future will thank us for being good stewards of the Earth. Peace, and the power of God's love.

  • Make the conversion to electric cheap engouh and the range over 100 miles could see conversions happing to all types of cars. Be awesome to see a 50s buick with electic conversion haha

  • Reverend Gadget converted Tommy Chong's 1946 Oldsmobile into a battery electric hotrod. Someone doing bodywork may have fucked it up though, so it needs repairs. That thing's battery, motor, and controller combo would have given about 350 to 400 brake horsepower on tap.

  • I so badly wanted to do a 1962 mercedes 190, but I was worried about the brakes!

So I'm doing the Chev s10, like everyone else, for practical reasons. But I agree wholeheartedly, E-classic, such a thing to look forward to.

  • Yea, it's fast, it's economical. But what it doesn't have is that rumble of a good muscle car, or that feel of almost 1000 horse power shaking under the hood, or those awesome pipes of a mustang or that crispt smell of top line drag fuel. No electric car can replace that. Oh yea and only tree huging fagtards drive econo boxes, sorry but it's true. What real man can say he's a stud behind the wheel of a prius? haha, gimme a 1000+HP Mustang any day

  • And remember that "tree hugging fagtards" electric car has 1 moving part, and replacing 2 brushes is a full rebuild. Enjoy your 1000+ HP Mustang.

  • Still not that same rumble though, can't top that. But then again it's a man thing, you may not get it because you're too busy "saving the earth" haha. pathetic. Mars is heating up too, so is every other planet, and at the same rate. Hmmmm could it be the SUN? Pf-hahaha, you're wasting your time.

  • Did you forget turning the Comm.? and all the belts and what not that connect the motor to the drivetrain.

  • The commutator is a fraction of the weight of the armature (assuming that this is a DC motor). The motor is directly coupled to the drive axle (with a gear ratio of course).

  • ? The motor connects to a shortened 9" Diff through a custom racing drive shaft.

  • Let's just see who'll be the one walking down the street instead of driving a fast electric car when the Earth's fossil fuels finally run out in a couple of decades.

Oh and by the way, maybe the "fagtards" are the ones who are too scared to even admit to wanting to care for the very place they live in, and instead just listen to sounds that just drain fuel and your pocket money per revolution of that engine.

  • HA! Any REAL man will tell ya that a 599HP V8 Mustang is more enjoyable but, hey, at least you're saving the earth. And by the way? It's not in a couple of decades, we're talking hundreds of years from now, so naturally I don't care, not MY problem (I know, I'm an asshole, get over it)

  • fuck fossil fuels. internal combustion engines run off an array of fuel sources. many which are also environmentally friendly

  • may be in sense that they cause less greenhouse gases but proving they are enviromentaly freindly would be a hard task

  • No i dont agree.

-If you put solar panels on top of your roof and have a windpower farm supply (or something like it) it would almost be 100% green!

    So easy was that!

  • solar panels only convert 5% of the UV light into electricity, something along those lines... need some big ass panels to be 100% green lol

  • Well, that may be 100% true, but where did you read this? I would like to know, and search the web for better ones assuming those you found arent holding that good quality than the best performing today.

  • this was ages ago when i was back in university probably is better now.

  • okok =)

  • They don't convert UV light.. just normal light. That's why the could get hot in the summer anyway. And! most panels covert 17-21% these days..

  • Yep, Diesels with SCR is what i think spells the future for trucks and heavy machines.

The diesel engines can be run at many fuels and have a 50% efficency as best. Electric motors have 90%´s efficency. And if you have luck, a Gasoline engine will only have 30%.

The SCR system makes the Euro 5 standard and beyond! But i prefer electric after all =)

  • Everytime i step into a gasoline car.. i feel oldfasioned. I wan't electric. 3phase engines ROCK! =)

  • Its positively barbaric! Electric fuel beats Internal EXPLOSIONS any day. Plus, there is no deafening NOISE-pollution, or pollution of our beloved mother, our Earth.

  • haha, yall a bunch of sissy tree-hugers, did yall get your balls removed? HA!

  • are you upset cause people are using new technology? You are a degenerate

  • Are you upset that the world views prius drivers and tree hugers as gays and dorks?

  • couldbawake watch the carrera and the ferrari get beaten by an electric car in electric car vs ferrari

  • I think LIPO batteries are starting to show some promise. It scares me when people want government to "mandate" the use of something, look what is happening with ethanol being mandated. I hope you like those higher milk prices because of higher feed prices for them cows.... Let the market handle it. Government always screws shit up.

  • NiMH has had lithium beat for years when it comes to shelf life and operating cost. A study titled "Evaluation of Electric Vehicle Production and Operating Costs" found that a NiMH equipped EV would achieve cost parity with a comparable gasoline powered ar at $1.30/gallon gas. A shame the Chevron assholes now control and sit on that technology. Li Ion, if done right and if cars are mass produced, could achieve cost parity at about $2.50-3/gallon gas.

  • Beauty is: NO POLLUTION! Lithium Ions dont develop memory effect, and now only take TEN MINUTES TO FULLY CHARGE. Look at the ZAP-Lotus all electric car!

  • The Tesla roadster is a nice car.But untill we can get more miles out of a single charge and replacement batteries at a cheaper price people won't buy them. And manufacturing the batteries polluts more than drilling for oil.Just look at how nickel is mined and refined so it can be used in the manufacturing of batteries used in these cars;hybrid and all electric.

  • Batteries are expensive due to volume. Argonne National Laboratories quotes $250/kWh in automotive volume for Li Ion batteries. They last about 500 cycles to full discharge and if kept properly cooled and managed, shelf life of 5-10 years. A car needing 250 miles range will need a 50 kWh pack, which would last about 125000 miles if the car is driven frequently enough, and would still wind up cheaper than gas cars today. The key is high volume, without mass production of EVs price stays too high.

  • I've got news for you. That electric car hasn't beat just one sucky muscle car- it's beat most of them. It gets faster every year as the batteries get better. You're probably one of the loudest whiners about prices at the pump too.

  • lol electric cars are a joke!! wow a electric beat one muscle that blows!! try a real race electric bitch

  • Yeah, an 11 second street legal electric car is a joke. It's people like you that leave the track after being beaten by a "battery car", instead of showing interest in what we are doing. Real performance guys don't care what powers the car, as long as it's fast!

  • Awesome race car! Is the transmission automatic or manual or neither, what gear ratio is in the rear?

  • No transmission, 4.11 gears in the rear.

  • LOL the electric car lost listen to there times Stupid

  • plasmaboyracing. com There are videos where it kills 12 second musclecars and tuned imports. Bet of all, there's no maintenance whore of an engine to maintain, which on race cars usually adds up to buttloads of money that ordinary Joes usually don't have. This electric Datsun could be duplicated for about $15-20k today, be fully street legal, pull low 12s or better, and also save money by needing no gas.

  • And help keep dollars and jobs in the USA, instead of sending your cash to the Persian Gulf, to build skyscrapers and Palm Islands, and indoor ski fields in the middle of the desert. You're paying for all that, USA.

  • the batteries are good enough to get people through their daily tasks. if you travel more than 100 miles a day, thats kind of a lot time wasted. if you are like me and stuck in a high traffic area, electric cars are great because they used less energy. unlike gas cars that get worst. I am thinking about converting my car in to an EV but I will need to pay it off first.

  • The batteries are good enough to go as far as gas cars. Typical gas cars go 250-400 miles per tank, and many EVs are now going 200-300 miles per charge. The Solectria Sunrise went over 350 miles per charge in a Tour De Sol rally, the Tesla Roadster does 250 miles range, the Electrovaya Maya100 does 230 miles range, the Eliica does 200 miles range... The technology was ready 10 years ago.

  • I think we need to be looking why new battery technologies are taking so long. It's the batteries that's holding it back in my opinion.

  • Large format NiMH batteries came in the 1990s. UC Davis quotes 1750 cycles to 100% discharge for Panasonic NiMH. RAV4 EVs are exceeding 150k miles on their first pack with no signs of aging yet. Shelf life is in decades. Can be fast charged in 30 minutes if you dump enough power in them. UC Davis quotes $225/kWh in volume and a midsize car would need a 30-40 kWh pack for 150-200 miles range. Chevron has control of the technology, refuses to market it for EVs, and sued the fuck out of Panasonic.

  • Joey and AXL-

Don't be like the masses waiting on the guv to help them in New Orleans - you saw how the guv helped them.

Be like the Missisippians who took barbeque to the rescue workers - be like Americans used to be!

Be SELF-RELIANT go check out a few library books & have at it (built your own).

  • That's what I'm doing. After I find employment, I'll have all the cash I need to finish it.

I'll even be able to experiment with my own controller designs. Blowing up IGBTs will be fun.

  • Electric car are the future but OIL companies KEEP US IN THE PAST

  • @AXL078 get this there will still be oil prodution even if electric cars do become just they won't need to crack as much petroleum cleaning fliuids agents turps , plastic get this there would be more or the polymer production

its just greed man plain and simple

  • And we're STUCK driveing gas guzzling junk with NO alternatives.

Thanks America for removin the mandates that required the production of electric cars. We are our own terrorists.
