This was 2003-2004, just around the OVW era so I could see why the initial response to Mickie being too small was. You had: Nidia - 131 Ivory - 135 Jazz - 135 Molly - 136 Victoria - 145 Jaqueline - 130 Lita - 133 Trish - 125 even Torrie was 130ish. Average was 130. The smallest 'real' wrestler type was Trish, and we all know where that lead. Mickie back then was bearly 120, so I can see why they would have initially said that. Don't forget Beth & Jillian were 150 & 155 respective.
I'd say Melina had to work on it more emotionally than other girls though. From what she's said alot of people were VERY mean to her. While they were calling Mickie too small or Jillian didn't have the look they flat out made fun of Melina and called her ugly and said very hurtful things. She had a rougher ride emotionally than competition/psychically than someone like Mickie or Jillian.
All in all the women I mentioned definately worked harder than the diva searchers to make it...

Morrison and Matt Cappotelli won this Tough Enough, if it wasnt for this show Melina wouldnt have gotten all the information to be able to try out for the WWE. So even though Melina didnt in, Tough Enough was a big step and help for Melina getting into the WWE. ;)

Melina was never in the Diva Search, she tried out for the WWE in November 2003 and she got a contract as a wrestler in January 2004.

The Limbo contest was meant to be a cameo to let the OVW soon-to-be Divas get a lil' exposure to the media. Same thing when Morrison debuted in March 04' as Bischoff's apprentice. He was still technically in OVW at that time.
Thank God Melina wasn't in Diva Search! That show sucks.
And yeah absolutely Morrison and Melina are the biggest(and remaining) stars to emerge successful thanks to TE. When Matt beats cancer, he'll have a future too.

Thats when they met for the first time after Tough Enough 3. They went through their WWE Tag Team reign together as a couple but broke up shortly after WWE split them up right before Johnny Nitro went to ECW and became John Morrison. Melina is now dating Batista in real life

A lot of reality shows are like that... one or two winners actually have a future (although I'm pissed they fired Nidia right as she was picking up steam... her last match when she partnered with Victoria is awesome) and the rest win because of their story. I think they felt Melina would be too much of a ringer (wasnt she wrestling by this point) and spoil their two guys winning plan.
