  • @Boogers32150 I want to die actually listening to it. But I agree either way.

  • To the six poor souls who decided to dislike this beautiful song, I remember when I didn't know what good music was too, hopefully you will find the light.

  • @dperin2011 I think those 6 people found the light and decided to like your comment

  • Truly inspiring piece. I'm performing it this year in our chamber ensemble!

  • He looks like bert the conqueror..

  • i love justins voice & facial expression. this song is one of the best!

  • goosebumps.

  • I never used to understand what was being sung most of the time, though I never minded as it was so hauntingly beautiful.. though I just looked them up and I can honestly say I'm even more in love with them - if that was possible! <3

  • gay

Can't believe I ever forgot about this gem ♥

  • I wish I had a raspy voice like that...

    Too bad I'm a woman... u___u

  • @CraterMuffin Lol, I don't know why, but I find that terribly funny.

  • @CraterMuffin they have an operation for that

  • you'd have to have an ashtray for a soul to not like this song.

  • i know the lyrics arent about like looking back to much but this video makes me look back. just graduated and im like "im gonna miss running in the weeds"

  • @WhatsHizFase fuck you bro that makes me sad miss them days now lifes all hard and shit

  • @NSSprivste no need for hostility hahaha im sad to

  • I grew up on an old plantation after being born in the city and it looked just like this house. The words, the video, and even the music speaks to me more than a LOT of similar stuff.

  • @NotGoAnimate indeed

  • one of my favorite songs that is for sure

  • i showed this song to my gf and she loved it... so i put this song on repeat and we made sweet love for hours.

  • @corvettez0910 making sweeeet luuuuve by the firahplace!

  • @corvettez0910 Why are you sharing this? Sounds like private matter to me. Why would I want to know that you had sex to this song?

  • @corvettez0910 hahahaha

  • Love the song, but the multiple "punched my girlfriend cause she didn't like it" comments make me feel ill... That's disgusting and has no place here.

  • Wow, this suddenly got popular... which is good. Horse Feathers deserves to be popular.

  • Fantastic song. Heather is gorgeous.

  • The man in 00:45 looks just like George Mcfly from Back To The Future

  • @McDania Run for itg marty!!

  • @mpbarkley79 haha

  • i just showed this to my gf and she kind of liked it... so i smacked her around a little but kept her

  • These kinds of songs make me feel happy and sad at the same time, and it's a great feeling.

  • It took me weeks of listening to fall in love with this song. It's been months since I first heard it, and it now has the ability to bring me to tears.

  • this song is really touching. i listen to it whenever i paint.... i love it

  • Dude, this guy reminds me of the guy from There Will Be Blood. Daniel Plainview's "half-brother"

  • this song remind me so much of me and my fathers relationship. We both are extremely stubborn and around two years ago i made the executive decision to no longer see him due to complications in our relationship and an extremely broken home. "It's like morrow without bone. To live in a house with no home." this songs gives me hope we will civilly connect again at one point in our lives. This lyrics describes our current relationship.

"Only once, I'll call of the dogs, if you call off your guard."

  • @MCKinnon023 This is heartbreaking to me. All I can hope is that you don't wait too long. One day the opportunity won't be there. Reconnect with him.

  • Jesus Christ, the singer and Will Oldham look incredibly alike.

  • Man, this song wow. I'ts the last two lines though in this song, that bring me to antoher state of being. It's like I'm a wild animal - I;m so forlorn Cuz I've lost my cub. Not sure how to explain it, but thats the feeling I get from the whole song. "Wher'ed you go?" And the animal looks around hopelessly for its cub, or whatever. That's what this song brought me to.

  • that dude looks like will oldham

  • bonnie prince billy, breathe owl breathe, bowerbirds

  • Beautifully done..thank your capturing a time and place in the heart of America. And the place in our hearts when we return to our memories with new understanding. Such lovely music to drift back to our beginnings.

  • Heathen's Kiss is their best song!!!! This song is good too! But Heathen's Kiss was recently used in an episode of Justified on FX

  • I usually listen to like techno and rap and other stuff, but for some reason i like this. Anyone else want to give me some names of a couple more songs like this or at least what genre of music this is?

  • @fastpulses it´s indie/folk ;)

check out bombay bicycle club, fleet foxes or life in film ..

what i really like is mumford & sons

i recommend to listen the acoustic versions :)

  • @fastpulses Laura Marling, Mumford & Sons, Johnny Flynn, Bon Iver (especially if you like this simplistic sound)

  • @eveliniscool :

    AND...Iron & Wine :)

  • @fastpulses blue foundation, mumford and sons, the xx, noah and the whale, bon iver, fleet foxes, midlake, the antlers, ellie goulding, beck, cat power, ingrid michealson, bombay bicycle club, ra ra riot, tunng, espers, the wooden birds & city and colour. hope i helped :D p.s - make sure to listen to most of the acoustic versions :P

  • @fastpulses Songs by them? Its impossible not to like, Cascades, Drought, and Heathens Kiss, to name a few

  • perfect song!! the music, the video, and definitely the vocal at 1:29.

on a more shallow note. the cellist is super hot.

  • @travismac9 enjoyed your comment. Made me laugh.

  • Definitely a hard video to watch. My father passed away 6 months ago and it has not become any easier. We take those we love for granted, so when they're gone, we look back on all the things we could have done differently with them. Say everything now and never hold back. I love you papa.

  • that little boy is an angel.

  • soo beautiful, the strings are breathtaking

  • the video makes me feel so sad :(

  • Wauw, I'm so happy I found this song again.

    It's zo amazingly beautiful..

  • A father looking for a son in the past.

A son looking for a father in the present.

  • "It's like marrow without bone to live in a house with no home." Wow. Beautiful lyrics... heartwrenchingly beautiful.

  • i showed this song to my gf and she didnt like it... so i punched her and then dumped her

  • @MusicSavesMe4Ever Obviously a joke my young grasshopper

  • @MusicSavesMe4Ever Calling people fags is wrong too. ;)

  • @printing11 LOL

  • @printing11 youre an idiot for promoting such filth

  • @printing11 did you tell her to make you a sandwich as well?

  • @printing11 Hope you got her in the ovaries. Don't let her spread that kind of satan-esque seed

  • why? I mean yah the song is awsome. breathtaking even. :D

but don't dump her just for that.

  • @printing11 Lieing slut

  • @printing11 That's abuse and I highly doubt you had a girlfriend in the first place, and if you did, you wont get another.

  • Comment removed

  • @printing11 she and her 5 friends thumbed this down :( punch them too

  • A great song and album.

A perfect album to chill out to on a Sunday night before a hectic week at work.

  • Such an Absolute, Beautiful song. Reminds me of lying in the tall grass on perfect summers day, singing and pluckin the day away with my girl!!!!!

  • I've noticed that in every great folk band there is a member with beard. I'm letting my beard grow.

  • i love this song but..this film clip scares me. the dad looks like a total pedo from 44 and on. i think its just the way the hes sitting with his legs crossed ...idk but it freaks me out!

  • This is a wonderful instance of how less can be more, how you don't have to fill a video with all sorts of pyrotechnics to evoke strong, nameless feelings .

  • I bloody dislike americans(no offense)but these mates here did a great job.

  • @hotelthehookers

Why should anyone take offense at a stupid and irrelevant statement?

  • @piehole23 like you do right now ?and it was not a statement(though it could be,if it was put in another way),it was a personal feeling for personal reasons.anyway,I don't blame you for calling what I said stupid, but it was not irrelevant.it's like a "I don't like apples, but hell, this one's very tasty!" type of thing.

  • How could anyone dislike their music? Just doesn't make any sense.

  • Truly beautiful..

  • is that blonde guy the brother in the tv series joan of arc?

  • i don't like this video, the colors don't reflect the mood of the song

  • @Bayview05 It's not about the video, just listen to the damn song and enjoy it..

  • @holyshizzleitsconnor I do, this is one of my favorite songs. I feel really sad for justin, thinking he had to go through this as a child. very powerful, yet simple lyrics. but the video... ugh. it does nothing to convey the meaning I have taken from the song. I just don't like it.

  • Chills every time.

  • When beauty meets music.

  • I love this song at the moment, I can't stop listening to it

    They're amazing!

  • @chicorunsfunny That wasn't very productive feedback. What makes you think it's any of these things?

  • Absolutely beautiful. It takes my breath away.

  • i cannot stop listening to this song.

  • go Joe Haege ! great song also.

  • Name to soft, Weak artwork,Unclear profile...... Otherwise this band would have gotten the attention it deserves :(

  • Great Work! Keep it up JAR

  • Absolutely breathtaking!

  • Absolutely beautiful! Where has this band been all my LIFE?!

  • I just wrote an essay about how music can express sentiments that words cannot express. This song pretty much makes me feel like all that writing was a waste. All you have to do is listen to the song to understand what I was clumsily trying to say. Thank god for good music.

  • I really don't know what to say about this band. I listened to 2 albums and I love every single song in it. All their songs make me feel calm and peaceful but passionate. When I feel really angry or down, I'd just listen to them. Their music is beautiful. I don't care if they're famous or not. If they're a good band, I believe they will keep making beautiful songs.

  • i would post this elsewhere but the video was eye squintingly awkward

  • I radomly stumbled on horse feathers last week... and that discovery has completely screwed me over for finals since I've been listening to all their albums on repeat ever since! I am completely in love with this music and I wish the whole world could be, too! This is too beautiful to go unshared. Ahhh, so good!

  • he needs to move his lower lip, hard to make out his vox great production tho

  • @hitwall that's just his style man, if you don't like it go elsewhere!

  • this is beauty going into your ears.

  • this song brings me peace

  • This gives me hope for humanity.

  • at 2:34, that's my kind of sweeping.

  • Incredible. I ended up playing it three times before finally watching the video. This song just demands that you close your eyes and get lost in the harmonies.

  • Breathtakingly beautiful, the violin adds so much to it. :)

  • @Jorrrdddinnn I think the violin and cello both add a lot to this song. I understand what you mean, though. It's a fantastic piece.

  • @Jorrrdddinnn Cello adds more! :)

  • imagine that one song can creates so much pure intense emotion and mostly admiration...

  • I've commented before but, listening to this over and over as I have; it really reminds me of an old Celtic tune/Celtic music mixed with a bit of blue grass influence. I really am in pure facination and love with this song to the biggest degree!!!!!

  • @COTCgirl uhhhh..... bluegrass came from celtic music transplanted to Appalacia...... Now the last person in the world who didnt know that has been informed.

  • Aaaah.....love it.

  • his voice reminds me of Samuel Beam (aka Iron and Wine)...both incredible songwriters and musicians...

yes that's in french ; SO WHAT !

  • I seen then last year. They where so great. I want to see them again. So good.

  • this song and video broke me... hands over my face crying... i've never felt like this...

  • Beautiful

  • Not many songs achieve that kind of magical quality. It takes you from wherever your sitting and removes you from there into a separate time. It just saturates you with the song.

  • Saw them in oxford yesterday and talked to the lead singer..nice and approchable guy.

Great whispery voice but it was a bad venue for space and sound and ashame they shared the set with others, more songs would of been great,

    Well next time

  • The older blond dude looks like Jason Zerbin.

  • It's marrow without bone to live in a house with no home.

  • Saw them yesterday and they were mellow but still very enjoyable.

  • Simply beautiful x

  • Absolutely brilliant! Such a sweet-voice, that's both high and soft.

  • ahhhhhhh...

    so refreshing...

  • i wish these words would form into something that could convey how i felt while listening to this. but that'll never happen, and this will have to sufice.

  • Someone please tell me what this is about.

  • i really wish i didnt know the words to this song because i cant help but sing along to it...when all i want to do is just sit back and listen..

  • this is amazing...his voice, the cello and violin are made for eachother..

  • with or without this video, this song is beautiful, sends real shivers

  • This video really reminds me of the hardships my dad and I faced, since he raised me himself. Really touched me.

  • @Omgberto You should report him if he really touched you. You can get help for that nowadays!

  • @iceonaboy totally uncalled for yet completely hilarious and apt comment.

  • @Omgberto dude me too...but my dad got thrown in jail and i was left alone for awile then moved bac with my mom!!! but this is our story!!! yours and mine!!!

  • Perfection, in-and-out. This video describes my life to the bone.

  • b e a u t i f u l

  • crushing...

  • Absolutely, and in every way gorgeous. Seriously.

    My mind is blown.

I can't stop listening to this, haha <3

  • I love this song so much. It has so much meaning and soul just thriving through it. I first heard this song on a local college radio station that plays jazz and blue grass music stuff. This is such a fantastic song and I love the singer's voice so much! The theme and the playing is excellent as well. I just love this song all around. :)

  • This music is too good for my ears

  • Without the words, this song should be a soundtrack for some epic Braveheart-type movie

  • The only thing that could perhaps make this song better is some simple percussion of some sort...

  • It's folk sounding. I wouldn't classify it as country, which has become closer to pop and rock than it is to folk. So I think I would classify them as Indie/Folk, along with other artists such as the Mountain Goats, Seabear, Vetiver, Mumford and Sons, Bon Iver, Iron & Wine, Sea Wolf, and even Sufjan Stevens and Fleet Foxes.

  • mooi en niets anders.

    awesome

  • canción hermosa... gran banda!

  • saw this band's name on up-and-coming artists on itunes and the first minute i listened only one word came to mind: Pure

  • I absolutely love this band. I've been listening to their album no stop.

    Beautiful music.

  • wow. i gotta say, feels reallllly wierd seeing some of these comments. some pure words coming from a kid that knows some of these guys personally: just listen to the songs. they're beautiful.

  • This song reminds me of the death of dreaming, pure isolation! Being sentenced to death! Fantastic aesthetic in the right mood.

  • this song makes things better.

    at least I think so.

  • Makes me want to mosh.

  • would you guys consider this semi-country? if not, what genre?

  • @rocketghosties Indie Folk. With southern influences for sure but NOT country.

  • @MichaelRansMusic

Southern American folk is called Country...
