  • Wow, I've never played/watched SH but this amv is damn moving, perfect atmosphere and right amount of emotion. Very well done.

  • Hopefully, you've played the game since you made this clip. It is MORE than worth while! I'm a fan of both the movie and the games. I even like to read SH Fan fiction. You would love it if you love the atmosphere!

  • Monsters are great, especially creepy hot nurses, but in the end you're gonna remember that surprisingly bitter feeling at the end, I'm glad that someone pointed that up. :)

  • "The fact that they were in the same place at the same time, and yet unable to reach out to each other haunted me more than the monsters did..."

    Same here.

Goodness, you get part of the essence of this film.

  • I loved your vid. Matter of fact I saw it a few months ago, then just spent two hours searching for it today after remembering.

    Brilliant, beautiful, fantastic.

  • Very good video, thanks for making! =)

  • this must have been one of the scariest movies i saw, omfg when the box head monster rips that chick in half wow ;S

  • Thank you very much for this video!

(WARNING: there might be spoilers in the following lines, if you haven't seen the movie yet.)

The combination of this song and the scenes perfectly portray the relationship, love and loss the story in this movie tells for me. Also their forever lost ability to communicate because of their (hers and the kids) death. (As far as I understood the story...)

PS: Oh and I have never played any of the games, nor do I know them in any detail beyond their titles...

  • I almost forgot to mention that I really enjoyed this movie. Ah well, the 500 character limit... ;-)

  • I love your attention to detail to only portray her & him and never the other characters! Excellent cut! :-)

... and the song fits really well.

  • beautiful video! :D

  • I guess the "game"-movies are ever worse than the game itself... that doesnt mean they are bad, but they are not the same level like the game... because most of these films dont mediate the story... in the silent hill movie for example is never spoken about the origin of pyramide-head or the sect or the hole alessa-story ... that makes it really difficult to understand the film for someone who dont know the film -_-'

  • Beautiful Video, keep up the great work

    5/5

  • Sharon makes some buggy dimensions...

  • Movie could have been A LOT better. Die Hard Silent Hill fans will never be satisfied with a perfect movie adapt from video game, much like the Resident Evil movies (with the exception of the first and sequal) Other than that, Silent Hill is a movie that is OSCAR worthy outside of the video game WORLD story wise

  • I think it's a similar problem with video games as it is with books - when they're adapted for the big screen they're just bound to be disappointing to most people who are familiar with the original.

You create so many images in your head while reading or feel a certain way while playing a game - and that's something that can't possibly be captured on film.

I'm probably one of the few people who have never played SH prior to (and even after) watching this movie. Maybe that's why I enjoyed it.

  • @SkyAboveWater Well spoken! In my opinion, it was a fine adaptation of the series. Being a fan of Silent Hill 1-3, I understand that the monsters are interpreted differently based on each of the main protagonist's psychological profile or current emotions. For example, James' feelings of castration and helplessness is portrayed with the straightjacket-monsters. But in film it is difficult to portray that in a way people will understand. You have to take the movie fans into consideration as well.

  • @AAORoLLEmUp What I think some of the problem was, was the ridiculous and un-realistic goren and the acting. Some actors were good for theirs parts, but others were defiantly not. They also didn't truly develop some of the characters enough for you to care for them.

  • This was really haunting and beautiful, and the aspect of the movie you describe (the enforced separation of the husband and wife) was what horrified me most, as well. Nicely done.

  • but why didnt thay put harry in movie o.O

  • @gta4freak666 because the man in charge wanted a mother/daugther setting with a dominant cast of women to play out the roles. supposely the second silent hill moving coming out will be more like the first and second game.. I am guessing. As for this movie I have always enjoyed watching it because of it's unique spin on the series. It is haunting, beauitful terrible and wonderful at the same time. :)

  • radha mitchell rules!

    :P

    just in love with her!

    :P

  • that was amazing.

  • i completely agree. amazing song choice too!

  • i did see this movie in youtube a bit bad quality but great movie

  • great video, I'm also a Silent Hill fan ^^

  • Is was a great movie! Just have no words ;-)

  • I really like your video and the reason, why you made it.

The ending really scared me to death (it sounds exaggerated, but to imagine you can never reach the one you love is... awful!) and I cried a lot after seeing it.

    The end of Silent Hill is one of the saddest I know ;__;

  • When the father went to Silent Hill looking for Rose(Mom) and Sharon(Daughter), he could feel Rose's pressence. And him being there spiritually seemed to give Rose the confidence she needed to get past the bizarreness of Silent Hill.

I agree with you Sky, and think you did an amazing job explaining and showing your point of view.

  • Nice video... I love this movie!! =)

  • Wow, that was really powerful. I enjoyed it a lot. Good choice of music, it really completed it.

  • great film! great video!!! love this freakin movie :p YES!!! sooo good!!!!

  • I liked it, it was very a very good video. I've never actually seen Silent Hill (I want to- I've been reading stuff on it and it looks quite good) But your video was very nice.

  • read my second paragraph first! kept me at the edge of my seat. I'm sick of people saying they don't understand this movie. ill explain it for u. A child named sharon has a split personality with something clearly evil. Every day or so she attempts suicide! she snaps out of this nightmare screaming Silent Hill so her mom takes her there without the dad's permission once there, they crash their car sharons gone and rose(mom)is left to uncover the sick connection with her daughter and the town.

  • silent hill was good. NO they didn't escape from this sort of hell, and NO they(sharon and rose) will never see their dad/husband again. the suspense was there and the twist was incredible, the ending left one of the best cliff hangers i've ever seen. The monsters were terrifying and flat out disturbing. the story was nearly perfect, the plot was slightly underdeveloped but otherwise WOW! some of the acting was great, and some was poor, yet this movies strange and dilapidated environments kept

  • Okay so i watched this movie because i had nothing better to do, and it was an okay horror movie and might i add something i think that most horror movies today lack the scary part (ex. halloween) the part that psycs you out and focuses too much on blood and gore. Back to the point I didn't get this movie. Especially the end. Thought they escaped.

  • You sort of have to play the games, to get the movie. Although the games are a lot more scary.

The ending is open for interpretation.

  • Ya i don't have the games and i don't play games that often. So which game is the movie based off of?

  • The movie is based mostly off the concept of the first game, simply because of the family aspect. The first game was about a father looking for his daughter in Silent Hill, after their car crashed on the drive to visit the town. The daughter was from Silent Hill.

It roughly ties in to the first one, though you have to take the movie as its own entity. As for the ending, I see it as the demon telling her not to look, but because Sharon did, they are stuck in limbo, and the demon is in Sharon.

  • Ya that's the part that I didn't get. It wasn't even scary. I mean you can make a movie off of a game, but you need to make sure that the game doesn't trample the movie you know? I felt like Silent Hill wasn't even scary, it was stupid you know. There was like oh my gosh that's just gross, but other than that I was like wow this is just twisted and complicated to understand. I didn't really get the whole child in the bed as the demon at the end and then sharons other half walking around.

  • Beautiful. Your expanation says it all, thank you, well done.

  • beautiful cut! very emotional.

  • ya this was very beautifully done.

  • man, i think im the only 1 that hasnt watched this movie yet. anyway, nice vid!

  • Man, that is one nice house.

I didn't really like the movie... I though the end was really sad, but I believe that at the VERY end that we don't get to see, they find each other again. They connect somehow (like that other movie..."White Noise"?) I don't know, but a movie kinda like that. Yeah, guess I'm naive, but I don't care.

Nice video, I guess. Maybe a little slow. (Sorry! I don't want to be rude...)

  • Siliven, you're not being rude at all, I appreciate the honest feedback. :o)

  • c man i like u u dont act like some of these crap heads on here. pce out man. live a good life

  • i think its the husband because in the old video game it was the husband

  • omg nice vid, i loved the movie but i didnt really understand the movie, did she die in the car accident? and her husband went to look for her but they couldnt reach other because she was dead?

  • The actual film Silent Town was so badly written/edited it was almost unwatchable - but I liked the way you put your vid together and you are right the final scene was poignant and different.

  • This is a first video in a long time that really moved me. You did great, I loved how you excluded the typical scary moments and instead made a character video. Very well done. This goes to my favourites, 5/5 stars!
