The crowds actually stretched for about 10 blocks. The numbers you read in the media only counted the people at the front of the Capitol, not all the people in the march, along the sidewalks who couldnt even FIT in the street because it was so tight

The Capital Building and its steps are a public area - not a private residence. The Protesters had a permit. A small percentage of them crossed the police barricade - they Knew they would be arrested, that was their intention - None protested violently, all went willingly into handcuffs. And if you believed so strongly against this march, you could have come to counter the protest(very few did!)

There is no comparison between Israel and post 9/11 U.S. and Israel. Israel's continued military action never stopped their country from being, as you say, war torn. Violence begets violence. There are smarter ways to deal with conflict. Massive military response should be a last resort - as in the attack upon our soil by another sovereign nation. 9/11 was a criminal act - know the difference!

it is now tuesday the 18th. i justr got home in chicago after being the last released from d.c general population. they held me until 230pm monday morning with no charge. losing my job when i got home but im still smiling because i know.

I was there too, it was a powerful thing to hear the crowd roaring "arrest george bush" as they walked soldiers up the steps in cuffs. The police were trying to work up the crowd too. Always be aware of this.
