a brotherhood of warriors who fight for freedom, shrouded in secrecy, feared for their ruthlessnes... they are those who would save humanity,,or destroy it , fighting for freedom and flee to live another day.for they where the assassins and that was their creed
@owo15xd just pointing it out. coz the video is like this could kill a normal persoon and hyping it up to be a massive drop. when really its not. aslong as you can roll well, its not that big
i like how they were like, "This would be terrible for a NORMAL HUMAN", like Traceurs are superhuman or something xD I'll admit, it almost seems like that at Ryan Doyle's and Daniel Ilabaca's levels, but anyone can learn parkour! I don't claim to be great but I've been a Traceur for awhile now, and I love teaching people! It's all about the individual's journey, and watching people take their first steps as a Traceur is just awsome to me :D
@MrMonkeebalz the point of alot of parkour is to spread the power out, so the kinetic energy doesnt absorb into any one joint or fulcrum. If your not warmed up enough, not flexible enough and strong enough to move in a manor that dissapates the shock then yes, it can and WILL damage your joints and ligiments
@30293952 Did you, uh...say that to yourself? You told yourself to shut up, and stated that you already stopped talking, but talked in the progress, to yourself; oh my god what is thi- *Mind blown*
@xbimpyx its not technically a martial art, that would imply Parkour has fighting application. but as stated in the vid Parkour or "Free running" was created after studying the body movement and flight aspects of traditional martial arts instead of the fight. (im just going by the vid) i would love to train in parkour though, these guys must have great cardio!
They didn't do the dummy test properly. Nobody would just let themselves fall that distance like dead weight. Anyone who did that, athlete or not, would still bend their legs when they hit the ground; it's a natural reaction to falling. It's true that Ryan can absorb impact better than most people, but the dummy example was extreme.
The only thing that i hate about this videos (fight science) is that, in every video there always a retard on the comment section that think he can do it better, and always have to disrespect the people in the videos, i hate that kind of people -_-
I like how they discern the "hidden secrets" of the urban ninja's landing. If you look up any parkour roll tutorial on youtube or any other site they explain that rolling dissipates that energy and preserves your legs. No need for an analysis, but then again I'm just trolling.
@teamflyboys Yeah, I love how the dummy is given no actual momentum whatsoever, basically dropped face-first from nine feet. See, if an airplane just drops straight down from a given height, it's wrecked... but if it lands on a runway...
@superrevivalcom They've already done that, it didn't prove anything to people who think chi is fake. It did prove, and even the lady herself said it, they are somehow defying what they thought to be impossible for the body. But as she also said, chi cannot be measured.
To those who want to learn parkour: Start small, slowly build up your body and progress. These guys trained like 10+ years. You can't expect to learn parkour in a day or something.
@ekojk1242 Well i have been doing it for awhile so i guess it isnt easy to beginners, as long as you take it easy and dont start jumping off high stuff to soon, It is easy after awhile.
@matiseq I didn't say I learned wrong. i said I had surgeries and I'm interested in beginning to learn this because of the lightened impact on the joints. I'm learning right, but the way you spoke it sounded like the lessened impact on my knees was only superficial. You've answered my questions though, the impact is less on the knees and ankles spreading it over a larger surface area on the body. I have the strength training to do this, the surgery came from a motorcycle wreck 10 yrs ago.
@matiseq How would you go about measuring this in a more appropriate way? I'm beginning to learn parkour myself, and want to know the actual impact to my body. I've had a couple surgeries on my knees, and the reason this interested me was because it's supposed to be low impact.
Hey, does anyone else notice that they keep saying "ordinary" or "average" humans when comparing them to these guys? Us Traceurs are Unique!! WHOOOOO!!!!!
@PKCleveland It's cause you're diving headfirst and with some forward spin, so you will have to flip so that your legs will land on the ground. Then from their you do a roll.
9 feet? hella low... these scientists must have been really skepticle to try it from such a low height. Most Parkour runners can hit 12 feet no problem I'm sure Doyle can hit atleast 14 without a problem lol aww scientists will never understand what the human body can really endure... smh
@Krankyism force of gravity 1G= your normal weight 2G= X2 normal weight 3G=X3 your normal weight and so on. So if you weigh 200lbs, at 3g's youre experiencing 600lbs of weight on your body.
@firemedic30ca thank you but how much is 3 g's when you hit someone cause if you tell the weight with which you want to multiply it this information is completely worthless
@firemedic30ca so it just describes the acceleration? thatdoesn't make much sense cause first you are accelerated with 1g and later with ∞ cause you stop at a certain point of time
@Krankyism how does that not make sense? when you hit the ground you hit it with a certain velocity before it dissipates to zero. The time it takes to dissipate that velocity to zero is calculated through acceleration and because the time it takes to change the velocity to zero when you hit the ground is less than a second, the acceleration is much faster than the acceleration due to gravity which inturn is measured in G's. With this you can calculate force: F=ma. take physics before posting
why the fuck do people STILL fail to distinguish parkour from free running? Parkour is NOT about fancy flips and kicks. Parkour is about the most efficient movement.
@JamieMaguireful and what if you have a long obstacle full of shit?!!!! y wont vault it!! you'll better flip over it (=
Parkour and Free running can be the same, in any case is just movement!! you don't have to separate them... unless you refer to just tricking, but anyways that wouldnt be FR either
@SuperCrazyRoy For the most part, parkour has no tricking and is more focused on getting from A to B as quickly as possible. Freerunning has no set path and involves a lot of tricking. They still have not been clearly separated yet though, so they're sorta interchangeable.
Ninjas used these kinds of techniques to escape... people invented parkour so they could look like ninjas :D ... But they made things look even cooler by adding special flips and stuff...
@DgangaJ Traceurs are in more than average physical condition and their body's have adapted to the movements they repititively do which means well... they aren't normal
