A UAV like the x47b is not radio controlled. It is pre programmed with parameters and left to do it by itself. Control inputs are sent by satellite, not radio towers. If you think that a 16yo high school student could hack into a military satellite then you are deluded. That would even be challenging for the best hackers. Not impossible but highly improbable.

This isn't even the only Stealth Drone of the US, there are X-45 Spiral, RQ-170 Sentinel, the X-47A, the P-175 Polecat, the General Atomics Avenger, X-45B/C, the X-47B Pegasus, as seen in the Video, and the even newer Boeing Phantom Ray. We have experience with Drones, we use them in Combat, not Mother Russia!

@Nomak020186: This drone isn't built in series, it isn't perfect. Other Drones does have a self-destruction mode, the RQ-170 hasn't. Iran can't use the drone anyway, they have no control. Do you know how this accident happened? There was no signal anymore, and the drone made a safety landing, simple as that.

Russia uses even lower enriched fuel, and newer designs are able to use fuel made from the wast from other reactors. If Iran was making fuel why enrich to 20%?

Iranians are already disecting this craft, they probably sold it to china and russia. Now everyone will get to test the latest of US stealth tech which B2 and F22 are based on and they will learn what it cant do and what the weaknesses are etc. This is a huge embarassment and blow to USAF heads will roll no doubt. This is alsmost as if they captured F22. Plus if iranians leanred how to fuck electronically with USAF planes they probably can fuck with F22 or F15 via computers too.

@USAmilitarypower we will never no if it was hacked but based on china and russia past history of aggressively hacking into our stuff, probability is high that it may have been hacked.
We should be investigating why the rq170 got into the hands of the enemy and why on august 7, 30 special forces died in a slow moving helicopter. We've just compromised our national security again and no one is covering it.

Not to worry. Once all the 3rd world armpits figure out how to hack into them with laptops and 16yo high school kids, they'll be back to flying regular airplanes, as always. A UAV like the x47b is not radio controlled. It is pre programmed with parameters and left to do it by itself. Control inputs are sent by satellite, not radio towers. If you think that a 16yo high school student could hack into a military satellite then you are deluded. That would even be challenging for the best hackers. Not impossible but highly improbable.
