Not only should we NOT have a carbon tax we should effectively start reversing the unconstitutional Income Tax, just for proposing this further-enslaving carbon tax. We are taxed to DEATH on our middle class incomes yet the rich are given tax breaks and will stick us with the bill. Obama already has exempted GE from any carbon taxation. As usual the biggest offenders will stick the middle class with the bill.

I think there should be a revolution before a carbon tax. As MedullaPancreas said: Why should we be penalized for BREATHING? Tree's NEED carbon dioxide to breath. It's the most sinister form of taxation - a tax on the natural circle of life between humans and trees.

Not one scientist says that the climate change is due to the "human" factor alone, but we certainly are not helping the situation for sure!

Thom's got a good point about regressive taxes and fines, as flat fees are harder on the poor. Why not fine lawbreakers on a sliding scale, adjusting it to income?

EXCELLENT debate! His example of climate change and geographical effects in Africa...wow! Thom's use of logic always amazes me. Why isn't he advising in Government? Rush Limbaugh, Beck and Fox News advised the Bush administration with their insanity. Why can't we return to sanity?
