Should of just been an addition to the chevy family instead of replacing the cobalt i have an 07 cobalt ss/sc and this was a complete let down for all cobalt owners and enthusiast's with that being said chevy did however get there act together on the interior styling and extra equitment of this car and in 2012 there will be a SS model on US streets that will run done any current Cobalt SS/TC w/ a brand new 300hp 2.2 turbocharged motor that has never been seen before.

I saw an interview with some GM big-shot in which he said that most of GM's problems were problems of perception. Not so. Stop letting your marketing guys design your cars -- form should follow function.

Form Follows Function, as the new Sonata slogan states Hyundai may have perception problems, but GM has a worst one. Why the Cobalt is being replaced?, well the sedan has horrible interior design and the materials are cheap, while the Coupe SS (or non SS) has good performance, but also has a lack of general refinement and same cheap plastic and details on dashboard, same history on the Cavalier.

That's stupid that you all are getting rid of the Cobalts already. They've only been out a little over 4 years. This new Cruze that's taking Cobalt's place couldn't run fast enough. Cobalt has more HP and better looks than the Cruze. GM needs to reconsider keeping the Cobalt.

I agree, but magazine editors said the Cobalt SS wasn't just the best FWD car they've driven- but one the best cars they're ever driven. So I say just keep the Cobalt's ss platform and stick the cruze on it.

It seems that the Cruze is getting some positive feedback concerning the overall interior and exterior design as well as fuel economy. The only thing GM is not touting is the power of the 1.4 turbo engine. If the rumors of 100hp are true, would it really be a better car than the 155hp Cobalt?

According to GM, the engine they are planning on putting in the Cruze will make about 140hp. When you consider the size and weight of the car, along with the outstanding mileage, that is plenty. It won't be as zippy as the Cobalt SS, but it shouldn't struggle.
