  • man i wanna ride one ^_^

  • these things are amazing!! i'd love a 1 seater version with custom body styling and extra phat wheels!

  • Cool guitarman

  • great video

  • shit. and people wonder why there are always 'UFO's" in this world. its not a ufo its a x-tracer or some other progressive shit!

  • Good rain cover

  • $83,000...WORTH IT!

  • Wannnnnnt

  • 0.6litre/100Km is 471 mpg(UK).. That cannot be correct.

6 litre per 100Km is more like. :-)

Nice video. That racket actually adds to it.

  • @m1aws - Your calculations are correct. A UK gallon is 1.201 times more than US gallon. 2.35 litres/100 km is 100 MPGe US or 120 MPGe UK. Therefore, 471 MPGe UK is 471/120=3.925, so 2.35/3.925=0.5987 Litres per 100 km.

  • A UK gallon is ~44097 Wh of electric energy. The MonoTracer E used an average of 7000 Wh across the desert (and at the recent Challenge Bibendum in Berlin), always going 120 km/h or 75 mph average. 7000/44097= 0.1587 gallons UK per 120 km or 75 miles. That works out to 6.3 times 75 miles = 472.5 miles/UK gallon.

  • @stefspec We are all incorrect!!

The X-Tracer is the electric version. Nonetheless on the Winning X-prize it managed just under an effective 200mpg. There is no 471mpg in any money.

Sorry to lead you astray my man.

  • @m1aws Sorry to disappoint...but the official X PRIZE MPGe for MTE7009 was 205. BUT...X PRIZE rules prohibited any repairs to the competition vehicles which had to survive the 6 months of testing at Michigan International Speedway as they arrived on day 1. MTE7009 never had a chance to get its prototype single fixed gear transfer case aligned and thus WON the X PRIZE with 700watts of transmission drag. I personally re-aligned that transmission once it shipped to California.

  • MTE7009 regularly returned better than 300MPGe during every 150-250mi SoCal roundtrip. I even achieved 380MPGe at 70mph driving to Santa Monica. Remember, X PRIZE measured their MPGe having the vehicle stop 6 times every 2 miles on their oval banked track where the maximum allowed speed limit was 70mph. The X-Tracer (MTE7009) would have to do 120mph to be perpendicular to the track surface (20deg banks at the end ovals).

  • By traveling slower (25-70mph max) during the testing at MIS the X-Tracer was always riding on the stickiest portion of multi-compound motorcycle tires instead of the lower rolling resistance (longer wear) center part of the tire tread. Factor in frequent full stop requirements, riding on the stickiest part of the tread, and the 700watts of transmission drag it had prior to proper alignment, you can see where the 205MPGe number came from. In real world freeway driving you always get 300+MPGe.

  • gas or electric?

  • @dmillerb95 The yellow MonoTracer E is all electric (AC Propulsion 150kW ~200hp) and the white MonoTracer is all gas (BMW K1200 ~120hp).

  • ok is else screaming TRON CYCLE ??? man I want one of these.

  • Marvelous machine, great audio. Hope many dozens of these vehicles are driving American roads in the near future. The first two cabincycles from Switzerland both have about 100K miles on them currently.

  • Audi actually borrowed the "side blades" design element of the MonoTracer for their R8 as the MonoTracer designer Tobias Wülser was working at Audi at the time and his friend was designing the R8 and they needed something to break up the length of the car.

  • looks like the side panels on an audi r8

  • @ crazy same thing I thought when I saw it from the rear!!!!

  • it's TRON

  • Sweet! I like they way you mixed in the guitar player.
