  • Did anyone else see the bear at 0:30?

    Bearopomorphism?

  • Looked like a Meerkat to me

  • Yes, research the NWO! Because, in the future, there will be a cabal of greedy, evil men who hold most of the world's power and wealth, abusing the people of the world and their resources toward their own selfish ends, using fundamentalist religion and ideology to manipulate us.

Er, isn't that what they've been doing all along? Instead: HELP CREATE A TRULY 'NEW ORDER' by dumping the bosses off your back.

  • I like "New order", i have 2 of their CDs :oP

  • beautiful

  • o look its like google sky....wow....

  • the universe is so god damn huge...... it's not even funny

  • They'll definately have a good laugh, that's if they know how to laugh and what a laugh is.

  • goddamn that was erotic!! i got half a mast watching this!

  • Cool stuff! Very nicely done!

Space is truly infinite... in fact so huge it defies human intellect.

Sam Neil in 'Space' put it well for the layman.

'Theres infinite more stars in the universe, than there are singles grains of sand on Earth'.

Thx for the vid NSVideo, excellent!

  • I love that zoom into the distance stuff with telescope images. It realy puts our space into perspective, its massive.

    p.s

I wouldnt bother biting about that fake stuff, theyr obviously just messin with you.

  • Thanks for posting these videos :)

  • I love the way almost all of these New Scientist vids have people saying 'It's fake!' 'It's just computer graphics!' etc. Of course, the good people at NS have nothing better to do with their time than fake scientific video clips....

  • wow, really cool. wish i could go there

  • If you use TigerTiger-DuranDuran to edit with it it would be an amazing video.

  • Hi Loop1979, it's not an artist's impression. The video is derived from three images from the Hubble Space Telescope. The video zooms in on the first one, then cuts to the second and zooms in on that, etc. YouTube won't let me give you the links, but go to spacetelescope dot org and look for images heic0715d and heic0715c.

  • You sure? It kinda looks more lie a dolly-in than a zoom.. and to dolly in that far is quite.. unlikely.

In a zoom you don't get the perspective-shifts

  • Actually David Shiga, who wrote the article, has just pointed out to me that I've made a small slip in my previous remark. Only one of the images was actually taken using the Hubble Space Telescope, (though they are all available on its website). The other two were taken from the ground; the first by astrophotographer Akira Fujii and the second by the Digitized Sky Survey. Sorry!

  • In space, nobody can hear you zoom.

Why did the video stop before we got there?

  • Nice, its quite unbelievable really! One day maybe we stop killing each other and start focus on the sky.. One can hope thou..

  • The gas cloud around it makes it look like a diamond ring.

  • nice........

  • How can we resolve an image that far into space? Almost doesnt look real!

  • Amazing quality images.

Some one should put the ST:TOS intro music over it.

  • Wow stars! first post yay
