1 on 1 marriage has been around since the beginning of time? BULLSHIT! Women were first currency and nothing more, baby factories at most. Then polygamy reigned supreme, it was only in the recent (I believe, give or take a thousand years) 4000 years? that monogamy became big.
marriage is completely pointless. women are brainwashed as children from watching all those damn disney movies which always end with a couple getting married and living happily ever after. guys are no better for succumbing under the pressure. there's no advantages to getting married but try telling that to the disney princesses. if you need a paper to tell you that you love eachother, you shouldn't be with eachother in the first place.

Marriage hasn't worked for my parents (several times) or anyone I know. It's a wonderful thing, when it works. It should be there for people who do want to try it.
It should be known that it's an old institution that hasn't really adjusted to modern society. When women weren't equal to men it worked a lot more but no everyone has so much freedom that not getting married is a much more viable option.
