I too have failed to video response since I got to college because I was caught up in the hullabaloo of packing as well. And now my webcam doesn't work on my laptop?! Oh no?! I am going to attempt to fix this issue.

Oh how I always wished for a pair of wheely(ie?) shoes. I never got any, though. :( I don't understand how small children don't fall on them. I don't think I'd last ten minutes without crashing or something. I'll find out one day, I swear I will. Good luck with your first weeks of college.
