Tom Baker was doctor for 7 years. Cmon. Would it have been so horrible to do 2 more years? Heck! Tom didn't even do a year of just specials. 7 years of full on doctor who! Whats REALLY a disgrace though is Christopher Eccelston. Doctor for a SINGLE season? Dear LORD! No other doctor has done such a thing! Theres only 13 different faces, and you basically wasted a 13th of them. THANK you. Were 1-2 years closer to the producers having to come up with a stupid way to extend the series even more...
my comment to this, as i have just seen this interview for the first time, i was curious as to learn why david left the show, i believe that if he wants to come back there can be an episode where the alternate universe (john smith clone doctor) and matt smith work together, and i don't know how many fans would agree with me, but they should return his daughter jenny, she would be an excellent addition to the show that is all

I loved both David Tennant and Christopher Eccleston as The Doctor. I wish Chris would have stayed on longer, he always had such an epic feel about him, with regards to the situations he always got into. He is definitely one of the best Doctors ever. And so is David Tennant.

Tennant, he's a sorcerer...even now I get moments where I still find it really difficult to fully come to terms with him not being part of the show anymore, even though the show is doing really well these days, even though I find the current doctor very brilliant. I really hope he can be persuaded to return for the 50th anniversary, well I'll take any excuse really, lol.

I've been watching Dr. Who since Christopher Eccleston (2005) so I've loved watching David Tennant as well. I do miss him sometimes playing the Doctor but I think Matt does an amazing job too. Mind you I would love to see David again in an episode with Matt. I think that would be awsome!
It would be Awesome to do a show titled "The Paradox" where we have two Doctors both Matt and David, a 2part episode of course. I miss David, but Matt is doing a good job, I always seem to get attached to the Doctor. But David was the first to make me cry.

@xtdbxkiefer The big rumour is another 5 Doctor Special. For the 25th they had a 5 Special so they SHOULD do it for the 50th (its in 2013) The rumour is Smith, Tennant, Eccleston, Mcgann and McCoy. I'd love it because Doctor 11 could turn to Doctor 10 and say "Jesus, you were a miserable shit during your last few days". It would also be nice to bring Tennant back to give him a moment so I don't remember him as a whimpering mess.
If only he HAD stuck around because Steven Moffat was writing it... So close. I wanna go to the parallel universe where he made the choice to stay. Like anyone would really have gotten tired of him if he'd stayed longer.
Now, now, at least the interviewer played the "what about all the precious children whose little hearts you'll break" card to try to manipulate him into staying. Didn't work, but it was a good try.
David is the best Doctor, he easily could of matched Tom Baker's longevity if he wanted to. Although I can understand him wanting to leave after the the main writer left for Torchwood.
@lazypizzaguy I think his problem is he is the unlucky actor that took over from the very popular David Tennant. No matter WHO it was, many people would be very critical of him.
see, what this really is - is a green screen put to work. david is speaking from his heart and thinking back on fond memories probably to an interviewing dalek and the interviewer is the sad actor delivering his lines clearly for so the show can turn his voice into that of a daleks
these are two actors delivering lines in two different times
The interviewer is terrible....David's giving these heart felt answers and then he spins all of his questions negatively without even the crack of a smile. WHAT is his deal.

I've been watching Dr. Who since Christopher Eccleston (2005) so I've loved watching David Tennant as well. I do miss him sometimes playing the Doctor but I think Matt does an amazing job too. Mind you I would love to see David again in an episode with Matt. I think that would be awsome!

It would be Awesome to do a show titled "The Paradox" where we have two Doctors both Matt and David, a 2part episode of course. I miss David, but Matt is doing a good job, I always seem to get attached to the Doctor. But David was the first to make me cry.

Bring back Tom BAKER!! All the Dr Who's since him have been boring. David Tennant is just not bad looking, but he is annoying and can't act. The new bloke is too much like a student to be interesting.

This is hard to watch, I'm from the US, so I don't have bbc here and the shows on the website don't work, so i just watched his last show less than 20 minutes ago, i think he was already gone by the time i was a fan of doctor who, but he's still MY doctor, i hope i'll like matt smith just as much, so sad :'( I wish he had stayed another year.

@RoyalGuard503 Uhm, yeah... I am a fan of David. But in my comment I said I was only in season four. I like Matt too and I still havent seen the really old ones. But, just because I liked David the most doesn't mean I dont like Dr, Who. I'm not trying to fight but I mean, you don't know me. I respect your opinion though. It did kinda come across as I love David more than the show. But, I dont.

2012 or 13 is the aniversery of Doctor Who, and theres been 2 main rumors about it
1) A movie of some kind
or
2) A special having Smith and Tennant together, possibley even Eccelston
Im hopeing its sort of both, a movie with more than one Doctor

@xtdbxkiefer The big rumour is another 5 Doctor Special. For the 25th they had a 5 Special so they SHOULD do it for the 50th (its in 2013) The rumour is Smith, Tennant, Eccleston, Mcgann and McCoy. I'd love it because Doctor 11 could turn to Doctor 10 and say "Jesus, you were a miserable shit during your last few days". It would also be nice to bring Tennant back to give him a moment so I don't remember him as a whimpering mess.

David is the best Doctor, he easily could of matched Tom Baker's longevity if he wanted to. Although I can understand him wanting to leave after the the main writer left for Torchwood.

see, what this really is - is a green screen put to work. david is speaking from his heart and thinking back on fond memories probably to an interviewing dalek and the interviewer is the sad actor delivering his lines clearly for so the show can turn his voice into that of a daleks
these are two actors delivering lines in two different times
