  • Love me some Karen.

    This was beautiful.

  • How she didn't get a Tony nod for this I have no idea.

  • screlt that shit

  • Eden is a goddess! I get chills everytime i listen to her sing! She makes me smile! (:

  • Listen to that gurrrrl belt! Dayum ;)

  • I think she's great but shes a little to screamy at parts. Natalie Weiss never screams

  • @stj2013 she isn't screaming thats called belting, Eden is the best at it. Most of the others don't have the high range that Eden has so they can't hit those notes.

  • :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D I LOVE HER. The end.

  • Eden has CRAZY EYES at 3:37 like she knows we're watching. LOL!

  • The very end. So legit.

  • she is a goddess

  • Can someone please explain to me what this show is about?!?

  • @jewey896 it's about a girl who tried to find her father to finish off the lullaby that her father started to write. I've not seen the show but own the soundtrack. Just buy the soundstrack, honestly it's amazing!!

  • That last riff. Oh dear Jesus yes.

  • OH ONE MORE THING

WHOA. EDEN'S LEFT HANDED. I JUST NOTICED/REALIZED. WHAT THE. I NEVER KNEW THAT! haha, Eden's specialll! <3 ;)

  • @d0ggylover21 How do you know she's left- handed?

  • @tdonset08 at 0:15 seconds when she starts drawing on the chalkboard you can see that she's using her left hand, not her right ><

  • Will Eden ever tour with this show? Even in small venues?

Oh, and congrats on your Engagement!

  • TELL ME, WHY IS EDEN SO AMAZING & GORGEOUS? it saddens me :( lol ;)

and she looks hella cute in those little pigtails :D haha i <3 Eden!!! :D

  • She's incredible. Just incredible :D

  • I cant help but comment that Eden in this Once Upon a Time looked a little like Rinoa Heartilly from FF8. x)

    Eden is amazing, eee. <3

  • she has such a powerfull voice! <3 i love her!

  • Aw Eden is "wickedly" awesome :D she's so amazing and cute

  • Does anyone know the context of this song in the show?

  • whats that last note?

  • She has SUCH a great voice.

  • This is such a gorgeous song!!! I love her!! Saw her as Elphaba the 1st time i saw WICKED, her DEFYING GRAVITY made my mom cry, IT WAS SO AMAZING!!

  • OMG! her mom is Karen Olivo!!!!

  • @musicdork5 so Karen was 2 when she gave birth to Eden?

  • @tipofmytongue1024 noo they mean in the musical Karen Olivo is her mom.

  • @jewey896 oh lol my bad.

  • She lookes ridiculously like Idina Menzel here.

I have a theory Eden Espinosa is Idina Menzel's daughter from the future. She's reprised all of Idina's roles, and they look alike.

  • That's a fun theory if in that Theory Idina somehow passes on to her daughter more talent than she ever possessed herself.

  • @Roflb3rryPwncakes Hahah and where would you put Lea in the family line?

  • ... Another child. Idina's baby with Josh Groban.

  • she is phenominal in this and especially in WICKED!

  • there will only be one Brooklyn and that is Eden Espinosa

  • @oldfrippy DIANA DEGARMO

  • thats not karen. definitely eden

  • Ok. So I'm trying to figure out how this song was modified for the tour. This song starts in B-flat major and modulates to B major, correct?

  • Yes you are correct. Bb to B major.

  • Eden is actually my best friend's cousin! :D She's amazing

  • Vocal damage? I love her voice but I think she pushes it too much sometimes.

  • Is that Karen Olivo????

    Eden is so good XD

  • Yep, that's Karen!

  • aaaah cool beans :-)

  • indeed it is.

  • also, its really cool how they show her growth...she puts a youthful tone into her singing at the beginning...then she undoes her hair and adopts her true, mature tone. an absolutely stunning performance!

  • Eden's actually just amazing at doing character voices have you ever noticed? She has a Glinda impression that could send Cheno running, and in Maureen and Elphaba you can always here in her dialogue moments where she slips into an Idina that's scarily similar

  • oh my gosh. i'm familiar with the song, and i wasn't expecting that last riff at all. amazing!!! =D

  • LOVEEEE HER!!!!!

  • In Diana's version she sings the body of the song in A major with a modulation to Bb major. I don't know if she ever sang it in the same keys as Eden. B'way Divas frequently have their music re-arranged to suit their voice tessitura even if it is only a half step difference. Still both versions (from live shows) are great so pick your own favorite but range wise Eden has the edge. Hope this explains the key issues for these versions.

  • Does anyone know where I could get the karaoke/instrumentals for this song?

  • WHAT A FUCKING AMAIZING VOICE!!!! LOVE EDEN!!! Love her in Wicked too!!!

  • Eden is great

  • It was a great show - it was trashed by the critics but the audiences loved. It didn't have time to get a following.

  • i dont understand why this show did so bad

    it was absolutely amazing

  • From what I read in reviews was that the story wasn't very strong and somewhat cliche. They said that the show's only good thing were the singers' powerhouse voices and the creativity of the set and costumes, but everything else was weak. I don't know. I personally love Eden and Karen, but I never got to see the show.

  • OMG.

    Eden is just amazing

    i love her

    she's the best....

    this gives me the goosebumps

  • she is amazing!

  • How well did this show do on broadway since it closed? I'm curious because I'm a big Eden Espinosa fan.

  • It flopped. Terrible reviews.

  • it did indeed flop but i saw the last performance of it on broadway, and LOVED it

  • Ive tried to find more about this musical and not found much till now. Apparently it had 27 preview performances and ran for 284 performances. That's not so bad, is it?

  • 3:42 she looks like shes looking straight at the camera.....

    "i see you!!!" lol.

  • oh wow...

  • I saw this show on Broadway at the Kids Night on Broadway event. I saw Eden as Elphaba when she was the standby for Idina Menzel.

  • Eden is my favorite theatre actress!!!!

  • WOW eden is just amazing in every musical

  • oh yeah

  • wowza! shes amazing!

    i loooooooooooooooooooooooove her voice!

    so jealous!

  • flawless!

  • ugh so good

  • Eden draws a beautiful heart at 1:49 =)

But goodness, this video never gets old! Great.

  • i love the clapping with the camera at the end.

    awesome stuff.

  • insane!

  • It scares me that she hits that note even better than she did on the pro shot video!!!

Eden's the best female voice I have ever heard live! No doubts about that!

  • I'm pretty sure Eden Espinosa owns my entire life right now. LOVE.

  • i need this sheet music. like, now. hahaha.

  • Cleaned up some rude comments; they won't be tolerated, people. If you're going to criticize, do it constructively. And anyone who is here for the purpose of flamebaiting is going to have their comments promptly removed.

  • @EdensLast HOW CAN THERE BE ANY RUDE COMMENTS????? SHE'S AMAZING!!

    ~Ure

  • She's amazing!

I had to sing this at my stage school... she makes it look so easy!... it's not. :P

  • Oh my God her voice gives me chills

  • is there any insanely high note that eden espinosa can't belt? :D absolutely amazing!

  • Okay, she totally beats Diana any day. Diana's voice is still beautiful, but her performance is downright boring compared to Edens! Eden puts in constant emotion, she's a pleasure to watch as well as to listen to. It's a fantastic performance, not just a great voice.

  • She is amazing!!

  • wasn't she in wicked?!

    she's amazing.<3

  • yes, she was Elphaba in Wicked first on Broadway and then in LA. Eden's awesome!

  • OMFG! A flat to F sharp!!!

    i think i just died...

  • lmfao

  • i completely agree

  • I AGREEEEEEEEEEEE

    amazing :)

    better than diana sorry

I LOVE EDEN I SAW HER IN WICKED LA SHE WAS fantabulous

shes the best elphie ever. love youuu

  • Are you referring to the part where she sings ooo NNNNCCEEEE upon a time.. like.. after the second key change? Because having sung this song... it's an octave jump. F# to F#

  • I've heard a lot about Eden and her roll in this play. This is the first I've seen and heard a clip of her in it. No doubt she is great but I saw Diana DeGarmo in this play live and Diana can also be seen performing this song on another You Tube channel. IMO Diana delivered an equally awesome performance as Eden's. Go see it, Diana can give you chills with this song as well.

  • if diana sang it in the same key, id be impressed...but her version is at least a step lower.

  • Yes, but that's actually quite standard. It has to do with a person's vocal structure... Every time a new girl goes into Wicked the entire score is completely transposed. And unfortunately Eden got a bad case of vocal nodes after this and Wicked. I'm certainly not taking away from her talent AT ALL -- it's more a comment about how Broadway has become more about who can hit the highest note w/out any regard to vocal safety.

  • actually nearly every woman in wicked sings it in the original key...

  • not even nearly. EVERY woman sings it in the original key. The score has never been taken down ever, for any woman, and I know this for a fact. It might be common for long running shows who stunt cast people who can't sing so they transpose the score, but NOT for Wicked.

  • @kenny6446 LATE RESPONSE, but I have known of ONE Elphaba to sing a part of DG in a lower key, Zoe Gertz. But she's the Australian understudy, and not a lead.

She is still phenomenal though. (:

  • Where did you get your information?Professionals DO NOT transpose the scores when a new person comes in. Compare any professional videos of Wicked. The're all sung in the same key. The only time I've ever heard of this happening is when Taye Diggs filled in for Fiyero for about 2 weeks, and I understand it was an emergency and Diggs filled in on short notice. And where did you get your info about Eden's voice and nodes? I'll ask her next time I see her about it, but I'm pretty sure thats wrong.

  • People from Telsey Casting as well as Clemmens and Tara Rubin... unless they were making it up, which I don't think they were.

As for Eden, that's just what I heard from people who worked with her -- you're right, I can't claim personal knowledge on that one.

  • did you ever find out if Eden had /has vocal nodes, I hope she's ok

  • I also heard that Diana sang it in a lower key as well. This was a while ago and I don't remember where but just thought I'd back up this person's claim that this is a rumour, at the very least, lol.

I'm not musically educated though so perhaps someone who is can watch Diana's version also on YouTube and be able to tell us if it is in fact a different key.

  • Diana was sick at the time.

  • You sure? I went back and looked at the video and practically every person who had any idea and commented on it said it was 1/2 a step lower.

Apparently, she sang it 1/2 step lower on most occasions but sometimes sang it in its original key (you can find recordings on youtube of her singing that version too)

  • Here's the story: In this version Eden sings in 3 keys starting in Ab major (the prelude chorus). Then in Bb for the full chorus version with a modulation to B major for the last half chorus.

  • wow. Eden is amazing.

    This made me cry =P

  • i saw this from front row and it was AMAZING

  • She is so great!!!!! She makes me want to see this!!!

  • Eden is amazing @ playing a little kid! :D

  • LOVE LOVE LOVE the pigtails, Eden!

  • I saw Eden in Brooklyn and Wicked during her standby days as Elphaba.

  • what a voice eden has!

  • I LOVE this show... Absolutely love it. Eden is incredible

  • I really wish I had the opportunity to see this show. It looks fantastic.

  • i was just thinking that today when i was watching it

  • incredible!

  • Aww, at the "MOMMY," I just want to give Brooklyn a hug! that breaks my heart!

    :'(

  • goosebumps at 3:41 looks like she looking right at the camera, man I love this show, thanks for posting

  • I love this song. and Eden even more.

What musical is it from? Is it still on Broadway?

  • ...it's in the video description. and no, it closed.

  • I wish I could've seen Eden in this role. I saw Diana, and while she was good, she oversung too much. Eden doesn't over sing and she has more control over her voice.

  • Funny to watch the camera shake/clap at the end! :)

  • outrageously breathtaking!

  • this is beautiful!

I wish I had this voic!!

  • This show didn't stay open long enough

  • I totally agree!!

they totally need to revive it!!!

    RE-STARRING EDEN!!!

  • She's amazing but you gotta give credit to the composer too. It's a great song that needed a great voice to sound good, but still composers are always overlooked.

  • she's amazing!!!!!!!! i love eden!!!!!!!!!!!

  • OMG I LOVE THIS SONG! I never knew where it was from though. I love it even more now that I know that Eden sang it.

  • This is great...and of course Eden is great in it, but I think she was almost overpowered by the background vocals and orchestra.

  • exactly she was over powerd a little

  • FIERCE.

  • GO EDEN!!!

  • There are no words to describe her talent.

  • I LOVE THIS SONG!

  • I love how the camera was shaking back and forth at the end when the camera person was clapping.

    =)

  • woah. Eden is soooooooo AWESOME!

  • ive seen her in wicked she doesnt connect to the piece as much..

  • Well she did when I saw her.

  • She was great whe I saw her.

Maybe it was a bad day, all performers have that.

  • genius

  • She is sooo much better here than in Wicked.. She cannot do this in Wicked for some reason.. she just doesnt quite connect to it like she does here...

  • She can do this like in Wicked.

  • I agree witch wickedLAcastlover. SHe connects with the peice here as she does with wicked. Her wizard and I blows me away every time I hear it. She also seems, to be the charatcer here and in Wicked. She is a true talent and a true talent can be vercatile as she is.

  • The angel was GENIUS!

  • im so madd i dident get to see this!!!

  • im very depressed that this is no longer on broadway!

  • How old is she supposed to be in this musical (not in the beginning) but like when she competes with Miss Paradice and all?

  • Umm... like 19ish?

  • do you have Ramona's Raven from this night?

  • amazing!!

  • EDEN=AMAZING! her voice is...wow...i dont even have words for it....it exceeds amazing...
