"If you limit yourself to only doubling with the leading hand, you'll be limited to only doubling with the leading hand." Thanks for the video, man, but this sentence is really great!
It's funny when you learn how to play drums by yourself (like me) and then suddenly realize the playing style you "invented" is actually some technique...
"If you limit yourself to only doubling with the leading hand. You'll be limited to only... doubling with the leading hand" That's just amazing!! 02:48
@crazierayzie123 Most of us that have been drumming a while know this as well but who the fuck asked you. And learn grammar ass wipe you soufd like a moron.
@willkanoff have ever used one of these kits you're ignorrant for saying that his digital kit is a toy, these things are awesome. they're extremely compact and there's no maintenance to worry about. its got great freatures, 100 diff sound presets which can all be customized, a good metranome, it has a mix in/aux which you can use for recording and more stuff. these thing are great for practicing i love them, but i do still use a "real" acustic kit for preforming.
2:49 its fucked up because I'm a guitarist who only started drumming like 2 weeks ago, and i can only double with my left hand :L (I'm right handed btw)
@DoubleDz2k11 Being more naturally able to double with your left hand makes perfect sense, because at this point you're used to keeping time using evenly spaced notes with your right hand. If you're cross-dominant like me and do things like cut food with your left skateboard goofy, and golf lefty, it would make even more sense.
It is amazing to me now his dude actually got a nerve to go online teaching drums on a rubber toy… I bet he had no idea now to produce a single descent sound on a “real” drum kit. Plus he fools people into believing that this is now you actually can learn to play drums. WTF!

"If you limit yourself to only doubling with the leading hand, you'll be limited to doubling with the leading hand" ... whoooaaaaa!!! That's rocket since right here!!
Keep teaching the way you do. You're doing fine. Ignore all the asshole critics. I understand completely what you're trying to show. The mistake most drummers make is that they're trying to go too fast. Play the damn part right and don't worry about how fast you can play it.....speed comes with practice. Trust me. I've been playing drums for 55 years, and I love this site.
Doubles? You mean diddle? Pivot point? You mean the fulcrum? The bounce method is bullshit, beginners don't do that. STROKE IT OUT, not wrist it out, to learn how to diddle faster. Eventually, with practice and time, you'll find your bottom 3 fingers assisting in the double strokes.
@riacyber hahaha funny, it was you who don't know synonyms. I know the words he is using are synonimous to your words, and that makes me smarter than you. so who again is ignorant? i think it is YOU.
I dig your lessons. Do you find it easier to teach on acoustic or electric. Check out Kyle Batty Drum Lessons. Let me know what you think. Thanks. -Kyle
its kinda bad that he's playing on that kit so his toms are 'solid' whereas itd be different if his toms were real, theres nowhere near the same rebound -_-
Completely....incorrect form for all so-called "techniques". Hand should not be open when doing any double strokes. You WILL get carpel tunnel. Just ask marching drummers.
this guy invents more terms then he has bristles in his manly stache. also, theres a bit of audio lag with the electric kit, these fills wouldnt sound as good on an acoustic kit, as the doubles wouldnt bounce write on the toms unless you had reaaally tight toms or moved your wrist twice, and when you do the doubling slowly you actually mistime it, so its not even. the double strokes hit 2 times faster then half the time inbetween one hit, so it sounds rushed.
"If you limit yourself to only doubling with the leading hand, you'll be limited to only doubling with the leading hand." Those are some profound words.
The "Doubling Technique"? Is this an extension of the "Singling Technique"? A precursor to the "Tripling Technique"? Good god! Not a bad video playing-wise, but people throw the "technique" term around way too much these days. It makes the young players over-analyze everything. "So I do the 'Eighth Note technique' on the hi-hat, 'Halfing Technique' on bass drum, 'Grandma's Blueberry Muffin Technique' on snare?"
I'm only 28 years old but I would just like to say how lucky kids today are to have learning materials at the touch of their fingertips.. If I wanted to learn drumming then, I would have to fork out money for lessons and I would have to buy magazines and songbooks not to mention the kit itself.. If I didn't have money for neither, all I could do was watch as other played..
