  • skill .

  • This is straight up crazy.

  • Longest solo section known to man.

  • @rikolasdf lol... grateful dead.. 45 minute solos anyone

  • i feel like im in a batman cartoon

  • Need transcription for guitar solo. Bad.

  • thumbs up als je dit voor het pws van chesron en jan peter luisterd (a)

  • is it just me or do the seconds really go faster on this song than on others?

  • 4:28 - 5:20 Welcome to the Waynosphere

  • Tenor Solo...

  • @XArbyXxx FLUTE SOLO

  • goodwin that name seems familiar but not grodan goodwin anotehr person

  • im learning this on my Tenor Sax so imma need to play this song a lot. :)

  • I'm proud to be the bassist to this song! It's pretty dang fun.

  • I'm playing my first-ever improv solo on this (on alto sax). Needless to say, I'll be listening to this on repeat for a while!

  • I'm playing trombone for this piece, but i didn't get the bass part so one day i just figured it out, because it's pretty epic

  • Bari Sax part is BEAST! Our conductor deos it too fast though, I know its supposed to be quick but he goes WILD!

  • I think one underlying thing we all are not seeing is that this song was made from the start to finish in the USA by a modern composer and his still playing to this day band. It is not old like so many people think regarding good jazz as something of the past. Jazz lives in the 21st century and new work is being conceived everyday. Keep it going! *Your grandparents would be proud!

  • @bbjornst07 well said that man

  • dude.... good luck with that

  • My jazz band's gonna be playing this. Let's see how badly I screw up the drums ;D

  • @trol0lol0lol1 Hey, don't freak out, bro. We did this last year, and the part's really kickass if you do it right!

  • @trol0lol0lol1 lmao our big band will be too, and I will also most likely fuck up the drums. But thing of it like this- If you remember the tune, then the drum part becomes easy, just improvising around a standard funk rock pattern, and then you will feel the groove and you will melt

  • Verry Good Song

  • Holy moly that guitar solo made me sweat!

  • Hey :D I'm playing guitar In this for my school band and im going to be taking a solo. Should I just use G blues for the whole solo section???

  • @ThomasMiller8 I am in your exact situation. I also need to know this!

  • @ThomasMiller8 Yeah, the G blues works great throughout the solo, but don't be afraid to use the 2nd and major 3rd as well... be creative!

  • @ThomasMiller8 you should stay in G blues and tap the crap out of the solo. works every time

  • Sax Solo?

  • My Jazz Band Played this

Hell of a fun Piece to play.

  • This is world class! This no nonsense music is right up my street!

  • my school band played it and won an award :)

  • Is Jimi Hendrix in this band or something?

  • 0:00 - 5:20 Best Part

  • 0:00 Best Part

  • it was a hell of a fun time playing this song in my senior year, as it was both a challenging but fun chart to play with the entire band.

  • @TH3M4NROCKS What Does You Play? If it's Drums Then Good Luck With those triplets at 0:41

  • @GoldenCremeEgg i played lead trombone last year. its hard because of all the high b naturals and a naturals. even a sharps. but this song is a lot of fun. this band never stops impressing me

  • My jazz band just might play this, which would be awesome because I drum and have the whole form and the majority of the fills memorized. That part with triplets in sets of five, however, is not happening. 0:41

  • bari sax :D

  • @lucaman1221

might be playing this for my high school band for contest. and i play the bari sax. hoping to solo! :)

  • Nice drumming

  • i have to play first trumpet on this for my highschool jazz band. im going to die.

  • @monkeykmart The first trumpet is not that hard, try playing the Bass Trombone, I don't even play it, I play Barri Sax but if you look at that.....

  • @Pythagatha well if you try to play Bass Trombone while you normally play Barriton Sax, then it's kinda logical that you can't play the Bass Trombone part right? ;)

I play trombone, haven't tried this though, but it sounds doable ^^

  • @Pythagatha i actually have the music early and it isnt that hard, i got most of it down in less than hour. the hardest part is the last note.

  • @monkeykmart the last note is a B above high C. yes, that's a hard note xD

  • @Pythagatha Lol I played the bass trombone part ...once. And did terribly because I had never really played bass trombone before xD

  • @VisserZer0 i did terribly and i've played bass trombone many times before ,and I STILL suck at this song. your not the only one. surprising enough I do better on guitar. the solo is crazy though.

  • @Pythagatha i play barri too :O

  • @monkeykmart First Sax (with solo) , Being Recorded by BBC South Wales and 12 years old It's Nothing to Worry About Mate

  • you've gota love that good spelling.

  • 7 people dont know what real music is....

  • Our HS plays this with a bari sax and a bass trombone! I love this song! Except for those high "D"s... I cant play those XD only our 1st trombone can. We dont have the guitar solo we use a trumpet and a trombone. BEAST SONG and its hard.

  • That. Is. AMAZING! O.O

  • we played this in a marching band show and jeeze its the only decent one in the last 3 years

  • This may not be the greatest song ever written and made, but it's pretty damn close.

  • best part 1:45 to 2:55

  • Tenor sax all the way

  • i shat in pants. that is all

  • My high school jazz band played this tune with Wayne Bergeron as the guest artist. It was the most epic moment of my life :)

  • @bandgeek613 What high school? I've gone to concerts with him playing this and been in a clinic of his but thats sick! (I'm a trombonist)

  • If neither the sax solo nor the guitar solo gets you excited, you have no soul, literally and figuratively.

  • Played this song 6 years ago in high school. By far best song we ever played in Jazz Band. # thirdtrombone

  • I played this tune in the royal albert hall for the music for youth finals. Epix baritone sax part at the end :D

  • That Sax solo was just nothing short of incredible.

  • what a band

  • they should put some distortion on that bitch

  • exactly bass is where its at, i learned this song on bass back in april for jazz band, it rocked my world

  • some songs just awaken the inner BA in all jazz players. Boy does this make me wanna have on some black sun glasses... B-)

  • Eric Marienthal is a beast on the alto sax. His solo was like a lightning bolt touched the tip of my penis...

  • @Domenicdipeppe777 too bad that was a tenor sax solo in the recording....

  • @tr0mpwned lol

  • That guitar solo melted my face.

  • @T6e6r6o I am not responsible for any damages caused by this tune ;D

  • @T6e6r6o But I am!

  • @T6e6r6o And the sax solo didn't?

  • @T6e6r6o that guitarist has balls of steel.

  • Epic guitar solo

  • cant stop listening to it! =]

  • Man, this band has such a full sound. Astounding. Thanks for uploading.

  • Whose the guitarist?

  • афигительная саляга тенора... супер...

  • Yes, of course. Bernie Dresel=Drummer. I was simply giving advice to other drummers playing this chart

  • I think I just jazzed all over the place

  • Drums are nice. I play drums for my Jazz I, any advice, keep the bass and HH Driving through the entire beginning, and quiet down for the horn soloist, maybe even a half time. Dont be afraid to do some permutations (triplets over 4), keep the song a nice, and FUN groove. It's a blast!!

  • @outcastpercussion24 Dude....you know this is the actual Big Phat Band, right? This is how they wanted the song to sound.

  • Epic guitar solo

  • Let's keep it legal out there today.

  • @ 4tothepowerofcheese don't be silly. Look up Take The A Train played by Charles Mingus. Eric Dolphy is epic. It is a little quiet I admit.

  • Longest solo section in the world.

  • it's a bari sax we play this in my jazz band

  • Base Clarinet = win

  • @Mrdrtrdt Spelling fale? ;P

  • @flemish4 Spelling fail? Im preeeeeeeeeteh surez thats how j00 spell itz.

  • @flemish4 spelling fail? ;P

  • @9DJH3 Some people are so dense ;P

  • Comment removed

  • @flemish4 oh im stupid xD i thought it was called a base clarient for some stupid reason

  • @Mrdrtrdt i love how your now responding to a comment made 5 months ago...

  • @flemish4 lol

  • @Mrdrtrdt i think it's a double bass saxophone - whatever that's called

  • @mychocolatemonster contrabass? I play bari in my high school concert band and 2nd tenor in jazz. I actually just switched to bass guitar cause our other one just got arrested.

  • @Mrdrtrdt Spelling= Fail. :)

  • @Mrdrtrdt don't be silly. bass clarinets are nearly silent. they could never put out enough sound for jazz.

  • @4tothepowerofcheese Thats why I use a tuba ;)

  • @Mrdrtrdt bass?

  • @Mrdrtrdt Pretty sure you mean Bari Sax ;)

I play both, but the low reed in this song is definitely bari.

  • @Mrdrtrdt Being one who has played, performed and conducted this song, I can safely say that that instrument that you are hearing is a Baritone Saxophone and not a Bass Clarinet.

  • @bbjornst07

he's right. i've seen the part. and it's not bass sax either

  • @Mrdrtrdt bass sax.

  • @Carrot3734 look i play the part and trust me its a baritone sax....

  • why does this sond like a rock-inspired muenster's theme?

  • Perfect end credits song for a movie... what a song!

  • That guitar solo is just......so awesome! He uses sweep picking in JAZZ! SUCCESSFULLY!

  • Bass trombone on this song is fun.. well basically any of the parts on this song!

  • 1st trombone = chop buster.

  • @TheBashedBurrito Not as much as 1st Trombone on Hunting Wabbits. Gets up to a High C#.

  • haha you are not a real big band if you haven't played Jazz Police.

  • Love this song, were playing this in middle school right now at La Paz

  • This song is fun to play. Bass is cookin'!

  • @metallicbass23 thats what makes this song so much fun

  • This is the only thing that would make me jealous of trumpet players.

  • I love playing this song

  • This would be awesome music for some sort of an action movie!!

  • love that last note on trumpet!

  • @777ovechkin haha, my high school jazz band is playing it, first trumpets having a little trouble.

  • @tswans1234 haha y a i bet. my school did this too but we had plays that could rip the high notes pretty easily.

  • love teasing the winds in my band about that first keychange 5 sharps i believe and i have to move up a fret on bass pretty much

  • Tenor solo is so sexy!!! We're playing this in my band and I'm lead tenor, so im studying the hell out of this solo. So pimp!

  • this piece is simply pure AWESOMENESS! :D

  • I love listening to jazz, and playing jazz on my trumpet. It's my favorite hobby, keep up the good vids ;).

  • Could you try to upload Hunting Wabbits, there are no studio recordings on youtube

  • @Zargabaath25 Yep doing it now :)

  • @flemish4 Thank you, really appreciate it

  • Also great music for listening !

    fidlatka.cz/hudebniny/cd/ja-vam-dam-jazz

  • LOL I love playing this song in my jazz band because it is the only one I can perfectly play...I play piano. Jazz Piano is so not easy i'm sory. Piano is never easy.

  • @Cherrierune , Jazz piano is a perfected skill. Piano by itself just takes practice. :)

  • @Cherrierune For me it's sometimes easy. Only is it hard when I convince myself so.

  • So so so so so glad I actually play guitar in a big band because of this piece.

  • I'm the drummer in a Jazz Band who's doing this and it's the best song for drums ever.

  • doing this song with my school's band. I love the bari part SOOOO much =D

  • Rock influence in a big band like this sounds so amazing!

  • Yeah, 130 mph out on the open road music , and then slamming the brakes with a 180 degree Jim Rockford-type screaming stop.

  • i LOVE this song!!!!! XD

  • Breaking news this evening as the jazz police save the city again! X)

  • Im playing this piece in my jazz band at school! wanted to see how it sounds like proffesionally. wow! they sound great!!!! this is awesome! this pice is sooooo much fun but challenging!!

  • @zentex350 Exactly the same here!

  • Yeah that's Brian scanlon on tenor saxophone doing that solo!!!

  • too bad my alto solo doesn't sound like this one...

  • @stingray31415 it's a tenor solo not an alto

  • best. trumpet section. ever.

  • holy crap last note.......

  • 4 ppl were caught by the jazz police XD

  • I'm in my school's jazz workship (the lowest level) and the level just above me is playing this piece... it really makes me sad because if I had known about the audition dates to move up I probably would have made it, and I could have played this piece...

whatever. This piece is just awesome to listen to! I love it! :D

  • Yeah, really good sound.

    I like it

    Tuba Player from Germany

  • i love the guitar part to this! i played it last year

  • still probably the best Big Phat Band chart :D

  • We played this in my band when we went on a tour to Germany, We praticed in a youth hostel, after we finished praticing this piece we had people complaining 4 floors below that we were too loud and we disturbed their childrens sleep

  • @34toony77 Good on ya :L - I love music tours

  • @34toony77 oh yeah we german can be very angry cuz of something like that...espeacilly the older people...the best way is to ignore them...==)

  • @34toony77

    Keep the faith!! Play LOUDER!!!

  • @34toony77 that means u have achieved ur goal.

  • @34toony77 Yeh, I'm playing this on a orchestra/jazz band tour to Croatia, and I get to play the awesome bass part. :)

  • @talltim232 I played the bass part for my school as well it is such a fun bass part way more interesting than most out there :)

  • @34toony77 i think you were too quite. I mean, they were ONLY 4 floors below you.

  • i love the bari part on this soooo much :)

  • loving the bongos..... <3
